Happy Hooray its Friday!!!!

Up early but just because I was ready to get up... Very cold today 27 degrees.... Its a new record low for us... usually Feb is never below 50. Will be doing Chest & Shoulders today / no cardio.
My muscles are still sore and lifting heavy will be challenging. My forearms have been just talkin away all week... guess thats from the heavier weights. Still searching for 17# weights. Using the ankle weights on arm just doest feel right to me (for added wt).......I may try and learn some of Amy Bentos Kickbox combos so I can use that DVD... Her cuing is different than Cathe so its difficult for me to folow any of it. Ordered a couple Billy Blanks yesterday so I can have some kick variety... I think his may also focus more Abs.

Need more java then shall return with personals. :7

  LEA X:
Another Painting Project in the group? What a feeling of accomplishment you must have from that! Just be careful on ladders ok? No more sickies or injuries for awhile! Hows the toe this am? Your post about realizing you married your best friend was very heartwarming. You guys have all been married so much longer than I have... Gives me some hope. I have known only 1 couple in all my years that are still together...

:7 :7 DEBRA:
I remember being so darn sad when I did my last Sh&Arms...It was my favorite as well! I may dig that out soon. One part per day may be too much for me with heavier lifting. I'm going to continue with it for a week or 2 more and see if I will build some strength & muscle endurance.... Its so time efficient this way and so easy to couple it with short daily cardio sprints. Johnny Rockets dinner sounds FABULOUS! I love that place! We vacation every year in Cabo & they have one so we go when we are tired of mexican food! tastes just like good old USA! Hope class today is fun filled minus the soap!

  Jeanette:
What a busy evening you had! Do you fall into bed exhausted? Sounds like your party was great and that you will be sorely missed. You'll just have to start potlucks in your new department! That was always the best part of work for me! My sister works for the County out in California (25 years now) so i am all too familiar with the Lateral Moves paywise.... She changes departments every 2-3 years and eventually her pay rises but man California County is cheap! Great benefits of course but after 25 years she is barely above national poverty income... Its really a shame. She could move to Texas, do the same jobs in private business, have a 20% lower cost of living and make 30K more a year! I researched it for her a few years back... If I have to go back to work parttime I may try & get on with a govt agency tho just for benefits & holidays! LOLOL On your dad.... I hope you and your mom are doing ok... having loved ones in hospitals can takes its toll. Keeping good thoughts. *** On your note to Tracy, I get so bored with long cardios as well. If I mix n match the time seems to fly but lord anything longer than 30 minutes drives me crazy!

:D :D TRACY X:
Keep me posted on your continued thoughts on abs... I am really having to cutdown on spending right now but if you can figure it all out maybe I can mish mosh something together based on my inventory. I will be testing the Pilates concept 3x next week. I'll do three 15 minute sessions & see if I can find the ARX feeling.

  LAURIE:
Hope podiatrist appt gives you some answers today! Cant imagine you running with that thing! Good Thoughts!

:D :D MONICA:
Hope your day went well yesterday & thanks again for Listen to Body advise... This morning its saying Chips Ahoy.... should I listen??? LOL

  Steph:
Hope all is well... Missed you yesterday!

:D :D SANDRA:
I agree that Listen to Body is so much easier said than done. I guess if I were a person that was depressed if I missed a workout it would be easier... Honestly, I love the results & power I feel from exercise but actually doing it? I can leave it in a flash! LOL So have you figured out if you have A, B, C, or D???? I really hope you and DD feel much better today!

Graet morning to all!

LEAN/Phase 3/Week 10/Day 2

Wow, I’ve really missed out the last couple of days! I just can’t seem to get in on the check in during the day! Sounds like everyone’s having a blast and working hard, too. Last night I did Ch-Sh-Tri and actually did pretty well considering I’ve had this terrible cold, but my elbows are starting to hurt during the upper body stuff for some weird reason. Is that some sort of condition, does anybody know?

On the topic of men and sex, I should let my DH read this, as he also believes he is so completely deprived of sex as opposed to other men. I think TV has something to do with that, too. It seems there’s always these women on the shows who are after their men to have more sex with them. I mean, come on, that’s just not realistic!

I had to get in on Tracy and Traci’s discussion of losing core strength by not doing ARX. This concerns me, since I’m so completely bored with ARX that I desperately need another quality core workout. I bought Cathe’s Core Max for this reason.

Traci - Do you think the UML of the Master’s Series is similar to ARX? Should I consider purchasing it to keep up my core strength? I’ve gained so much in this area, I don’t want to lose it! You’re already thinking of starting another P90X rotation? LOL! You really miss your Tony, don’t you? I’m starting to worry that I’ll go into Tony withdrawals, too in a couple of weeks! (But not ARX withdrawals)

Debra - You had an interesting thought about Tony’s rotations have so many workouts that are core based. We’re actually working them several times a week in different ways. Also, I admire you for going through with PlyoX, even though you don’t like it. That reminds me of a quote from Oprah that’s stuck with me for years for some reason, “Discipline is doing something even when you don’t feel like it.” I often run that quote in my mind when I don’t feel like doing a workout or anything else for that matter. Hey, I should post that in my classroom! Hey, I should post it in my bedroom! LOL!

Lea - Well, now I can’t wait to try GS Legs. I bought them for after I’m done with Tony. My V-Day ranks right up there with yours - One DS in his room crying after his brother refused to play with him, DD missed her nap, so was so tired she bawled about everything. I just looked at DH and said, “Don’t you want to have 3 more?” OMG, I whacked my toe on the chair leg a few weeks ago, and it still hurts. I think I broke it, but who knows? Do you think your out of commission for working out for a while?

Sandra - Hope you feel better today! Just take it easy and don’t overdo it!

Jeanette - Those sourdough pancakes sounds awesome! I’ve never had them before. BTW, I wish you good luck in your new position!

Laurie - I hope you get your foot taken care of and feel better soon. Get healed up quickly!

Tracy - I’m a teacher, too, and so many kids have been sick this winter. I get so mad, too, when parents send their kids to school sick and they’re hacking and sneezing all over everyone. I feel like I can’t even breathe in for fear of catching some germs. Too late, I guess. BTW, your cardio mish mosh sounds like fun!

Monica - I know I’m belated in adding to the others’ relief that your test turned out OK. I’ll bet you’re feeling such a weight has been lifted! So happy for you!

Have great workouts today everyone!

Steph

Morning X'ers,

Don't know what workout I will be doing today. Guess it depends on what the doc does to the foot. My shoulder has been feel pretty a lot better, so may attempt some light weights for biceps and triceps and will do some ab work. If anything hurts will stop of course. :)

Thinking of taking my youngest to see Happy Feet tonight. Her big sister is staying overnight at a friends house, so it will just be the youngest and myself. Heard this was a cute movie. Or we go rent a movie that we haven't seen.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi all,

Schools are out again today. We have ~5 inches of ice. It's been below 30 for highs and lows in the teens with nasty wind.

I'm ahead of schedule and I have to get in pull/chin ups, and I may do Jari Love's RTTC as I bought it for 5.99. I'm thinking about doing Boot Camp & ME abs today.

Steph - Putting your quote in the bedroom just made me really LOL. "Discipline is doing something even when you don’t feel like it.” I read once years ago in Ann Landers that you should.... even when you don't feel like it. That's the one that goes through my head.

Traci - I can't buy anything else now either. I also can't do ARX 3x per week again. I may put it in once a week. I'm going to try to fix up a place to do hanging knee raises. They are good for the abs. Have you ever tried to do the roll outs with a barbell? I have an old piltes dvd and didn't like it when I got it. Maybe I'll pull that out too.

Jeanette - Pancakes sound so yummy. I wish I had a recipe for them. I made a lateral move for next year in hopes of getting a better job eventually. Change is good. You and I pretty similar in age, marriage, life etc, I have no complaints, sounds like you don't either:)

Lea - Hope the painting gets done and the toe is OK.

Sandra - I hope you didn't get the bug. Nothing worse!

Debra - Almost done huh? Have fun with the kids today. Kids that age are so cute.

Monica - Hope all is well.

BBL,

Tracy

Good morning X'ers!! Well, no workout for me today. I was going to do yoga, yet when I woke up, my pesky little toe was THROBBING. Took off my sock and it looks worse today than it did yesterday. YIKES!! So I was afraid if I did yoga I wouldn't be able to balance on my leg and that I would keep falling over. As fun as that sounds, definately not for me.

I have to finish up painting today, well the trim and touch up. Cabinets and stuff I will do later. Not sure if I like the color or not and am hoping that it will grow on me after everything is done. The walls have been white for so darn long that any color is a shock to me. Oh and I made Tosca's baked chicken last night and it was sooooo yummy. I think I will make some more this weekend. My DH is even loving the recipes these days. Thank goodness because they are so easy.

Ok, back with personals later. Have a great morning everyone. Happy Xing!!

CL/PH3/WK3/Day5: Legs & Back; ARX

Good morning!

Well, I feel 100% today, but I felt like 3% yesterday. YogaX didn't happen. I should have done it first thing in the morning, because as the day went on my stomach just got worse and worse. I never vomited, but I sure wanted to. I thought it would at least bring me some relief. No such luck. I thought the description of the scrapple might do it, but not quite. I tell you, reading about that with a nauseated stomach was more than I could, well, stomach. I haven't had anything to eat or drink since 2pm yesterday. I was extremely tired, too. I could have easily gone to be at 5pm, but I was too tired to get off the couch and go to bed. I finally dragged myself up there around 6:30, vegged with the tv on for a bit, then went to sleep at 7:20. I got up this morning at 6am. I think I have bedsores from being in bed so long! I feel great, though!

So, yesterday will be my rest day for the week, and I'll do YogaX on Sunday. It galls me that at this late stage of the game I'm deviating from the rotation. I almost pitched a perfect game!!

I found the whole discussion on libido yesterday very interesting. I can relate. I'd never keep a calendar - that would mean I'd have to keep my end of the deal!!

TracyX - my gosh that was quite a workout you did yesterday! Aren't you pooped today? I'm glad your back has improved. How do you get the heavy barbell on your shoulders? Do you have a barbell stand, or do you lift it over your head?

TraciX and TracyX - hmmmmm. Very interesting (and alarming) about the quick loss of ab strength. I don't like the sounds of that. What is it that makes ARX so much more effective than any other core workout? Perhaps if we can put our finger on that, we can figure out how to replicate it with other core workouts. Maybe Debra's right on the money, and we should be looking at Pilates. I have a pilates-for-abs dvd with 3 workouts on it. They're each about 10 minutes. I've only ever done the first one, ages and ages ago. Maybe I'll dust it off and see what it offers. I sure love my core (when I'm not bloated) these days. And I especially love how strong I feel.

Debra - Great job on getting through PlyoX yesterday!!!! Woohoo!!! I guess you won't be picking that one up too often after you're all done, hey? ;) (I probably won't, either). I wish you well with your day today. I'm sure you'll have a ball :)

TraciX - well, it appears that the answer was c) I had the same stomach bug as DD. DD was all better by suppertime, which gave me hope as I lay moaning on the couch. I figured I would be fine by morning, and I am. I'm also glad the baby and DH don't appear to have gotten it. On the blazing libido front - I personally don't know anyone at this age (not that I'm old!) who is raring to go. But then, all the people I socialize with these days are married with young children. That kind of sucks your time and energy away from things like 2 hour sessions! Did you order the new Billy Blanks Jr. Karioke/workout? I saw a brief bit of that on Ellen yesterday.

Lea - I'm so sorry to hear about your foot! How is it today? And you painted yesterday? You guys make painting a room seem so easy. The process of doing that has me completely mystified. I don't know where to start, what to do, and how to do it. If someone does the prep work for me, I'd be able to figure out the rest, but otherwise I'm stumped.

Jeanette - COPD? Is that C-something? O-something? Pulminary Disease? Your send-off breakfast sounded really, really nice. More for the 50 people who showed up, than the food (although, who doesn't love sourdough pancakes!). I hope you enjoy your new job, and your new co-workers! Anything new and exciting with the bike club? Did you do Legs & Back today?

Stephanie - maybe your elbows hurt because the joints aren't used to such heavy weight loads? I get little twinges in them during the chest workouts, from all the push ups.

Okay, I've got to go do the morning bus-stop run. Today I will do SJP step, Legs & Back, & ARX. If time and inclination permit, I will do XStretch this evening. Have a great day!
Sandra

Happy Friday ladies!

Classic/Phase 3/Week 3/Day 5

Today was Legs and Back for me, went very well, also increased my lat pulldowns to 70# on the Bowflex. Started at 50's when I first started so good increases for me. I was pretty jazzed today for the workout, no dread. Only one more time to go with this one in THIS rotation. What's with Dreya moaning on the calf raises? And she says "oh Gawd" during the wall squats, like it's really painfully hard. Just seems funny to me when she looks so fit otherwise. But then again, Gilad's ab workout the other day really made me burn after doing AbX. Just different as we don't do many crunch manuevers in AbX. Have AbX to do tonite and work DH also. Have to figure out something for him that will be interesting. Nope, won't involve door gyms or bikes, I'll leave that for others on this thread.

Traci, hope you get an answer to your Platemates question. I need to up my 15's and probably will just use the ankle weights. Just a matter of taking the time to do it. You're reminding me that I should get out my Tae Bo DVD. I remember when I got that, it was very intense. Bet I'd still find it intense at first as it's just different than what I've been doing. Yep, I was tired last night. Got done posting last night and dropped right into bed. It's a shame about the County jobs and their pay rates. Not good, especially the county sheriffs. They make peanuts compared to what the state prison guards out here make. These guards make $6,000 a month on straight time. Most of them get held for an overtime shift or 2 a week too so they really rack up the bucks. And the truth is that being a sheriff or policeman is way more dangerous than a prison guard. Re: cardio and boredom, I like to mix it up too. Guess I'm not alone.

Stephanie, sorry about your elbows. Every once in a while mine get a little tweaky, hasn't happened in a while. Actually, when I first started P90X, I had more aches and pains (little ones) than now. Think I had to condition my tendons and muscles. I'm knocking on wood of course. Don't push it if it hurts though. I did Coremax #2 the other night. The ball work was good, pikes and such. No burn from it though. I'm thinking that I'll be doing AbX at least once a week after the rotation is over. LOL about posting the sign in the bedroom. Thanks for the well wishes for my new position. I'm looking forward to it, will be totally different and much less structured.

Laurie, glad the shoulder is better. Let us know about the foot thing. Enjoy Happy Feet. Haven't seen that one yet.

Tracy, let me know how RTTC is. I don't own any of these workouts. $5.99 sounds great though. Boot Camp sounds fun today. Patience, Jeanette, my time is coming.

Think I will do an easy spin around our local loop of 15 miles tonite after work. Should be a nice afternoon weatherwise. Also go see my Dad in the hospital. Will call him this morning and see what the doctor says.

Sandra, glad you are feeling better today. Sure knocked you yesterday. COPD is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Emphyzema falls under this, which he has. He smoked long ago, but gave it up when we were little, little. So hard to see him labouring to breathe. Enjoy SJP step, L&B today and AbX. I miss SJP.

Lea, darned toe. I think you are wise not to do yoga. You use those toes quite a bit in that. What are your colors in the kitchen? I need to get busy with the painting again, but not sure what the weekend holds.

Will check back later,

Jeanette

Report Card Time;-)

Completed Chest & Shoulders from Pyramid, CTX & Supersets. Only took about 55 minutes... I'm toast again! LOL
Halfway thru I was thinking.. Oh heck I'll add in some cardio when I'm done since I'm already sweaty....Not gonna happen today!

So tomorrow is B&G Leg Blast Mix- That should do me in!

As far as next week I am making two changes to see if I can maintain a little more umph in mid week workouts.
1) Continue with 1 part a day but just use GS no add on strength work
2) Change Ab work to 3x Pilates (15-20 minutes each)

We'll see how that works for me in terms of energy and muscle recovery.

Off to get my shaggy dog hair cut so will BBL with personals! Great day to all!!!

Hi guys. Time for those personals:

Traci X - Wow you are just an ordering machine these days aren't ya? Do you want to order some dvd's for me? hm? I really haven't been married all that long to my DH. It will be 7 years next month. But thank goodness that as the years go, sure we get sick of each other, but we are much closer now that we were when first married. I can believe that you are still toast doing one body part a day this week. My chest and tri's are still sore from a few days ago. Tomorrow I think that I am going to try the entire Body Max 2. I believe after this rotation that you are going to be one buff monster.

Steph - Sorry that you have a bad cold. I really hate this seasonx( . LOL on the sex thing. I think that our DH's want it to go back to when we first started going out with them right? And then you're married for a few years and it peters out. As far as the core, I am mixing Cathe's coremax and ARX. Personally I think it is a good mixture. You just have to remember not to cheat on Coremax, but I think after doing the X that you really are more focused on your form. Sorry to hear about your V-Day. The kids really can make it a nice one for you right? LOL. I hope that you didn't break your toe. Ouchy. No, I don't think that I am out of comission hopefully. I think I can do weights and cardio because I am wearing shoes.(Crosses fingers).

Laurie - Glad the shoulder is doing better. I hope that the doc can take care of your foot. Is Happy Feet still playing? Have a good time today.

Tracy X - The weather sounds rough. Sorry to hear. I don't think that I will trade the weather that we are having right now(80's) with your weather. Have a great day.

Jeanette - I am glad that your workout went well today. Yeah, that Dreya moaning get me every time and the laugh of embarassment that Tony does afterward. I painted the kitchen walls like a golden yellow. All of my kitchen cabinets are wood, so I thought it would go nicely. My trim is going to be a dark green. Kind of country style. It's growing on me. I have a very small kitchen, so if I need to repaint, then no problem. Maybe you need to take a little break from the painting. Those fumes, whew! But now I am inspired to take on the rest of the house, at least for a little while. Sounds like you had a great breakfast yesterday. Still thinking of your dad.

Sandra - Yay!!! You feel better today. That is great news. Sometimes we just need to have over 12 hours of sleep. It seems to be happening to us a lot lately though. Maybe these workouts are fatiguing us? You definately have the workout bug today don't you??

Debra - Yes!! Jeanette did inspire me to get off my arss and start painting. LOL. She is one motivated woman. Your dinner sounds really yummy. I hope that you have a good time with all of those kids. LOL on the soap comment. What is it with soap? My DS decided to "clean" the bathroom twice yesterday again with my soap and my lotion. I was not a happy mom.

All right gang. Until later.

Lea

Hi X'ers,

I was ahead of my workouts, so I just threw in Ripped TTC for the heck of it and alternated the sections with pull /chin ups. I'm making some good progress with that. Jari Love is a little scary looking and I really don't want to look like that! She did have a few interesting move though, then some of the stuff was just same old same old. Maybe it was a good shock to work the body parts with light weights again this week. Just did legs yesterday...I didn't do any of the flies, but modified with some planks. Here is a good plank modification, balance on rt arm, left leg, right leg up left arm doing tricep kickbacks with light weight, then switch. I also got on my bosu and did some of the leg work on that, then experimented with standing on one leg and doing various arm movements with and without the med ball. That engages the core. Plus I did rollouts from a standing position with the stability ball and a few other miscellaneous exercises. I think I'm going four weeks with this rotation and then take a recovery week.

I'm off to the grocery store yet again. I got to Costco yesterday and realized that I hadn't transfered any money into my checking account and could only spend $50. That doesn't go far at Costco; milk, eggs, clementines, apples, evening primrose and peppers, that's all. Sorry to vent, it seems like all my money goes to food.

BBL, with personals.

Tracy

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around much. Work has just been crazy!! Although, I like it like that.

Yesterday I used Yoga Shakti's yoga matrix instead of Yoga X. I really enjoyed the workout I put together using that DVD. I wrote down what I did so that I can use it again. I love Shiva Rea's instruction and form pointers. Although I like Yoga X, I feel like it is not so focused on some yoga principles like following the breath and proper alignment. I don't know why, but I really like that Shiva Rea uses the sanskrit names for all the poses.

Today after work I will do Legs & Back and ARX. I subbed GS: Legs last week and really enjoyed it, but I am going to try to stick with the program this week and do Legs & Back.

I've been having lots of tummy issues this week and therefore I am down a few pounds. I'm okay with being down a few, but don't want to lose anymore. I have to be extremely careful with what I eat when my tummy is acting up. I had a very bad attack on Wednesday night that I don't want to repeat or have an even worse one. So for now I am on the extremely low fat diet. No more low fat string cheese, no nuts at all. Gee, I already eat so low fat -- don't know how much more I can cut out. So I am going to listen to my doctor and try the medication they prescribed. I have been resisting because I do not want to take an anti-depressant. My doctor wants me to try it for at least 90 days because it is used a lot for abdominal pain management. I had not had an tummy attack for over a month and have been allowing myself more fatty foods, but with this weeks issues I will have to give in and take the doctor's orders.

Sorry for the extremely long, self-absorbed post. I will try to get back later and post some personals. I do have one quick one:

TRACI -- Try to ignore your body when it requests cookies! You are too funny!

Hi everyone,

Back again. SJP step, Legs & Back, and ARX are done. I guess I'm not back to 100% yet. During SJP and LB I could feel my stomach a bit, especially with anything that had a high cardio-intensity factor. The 80/20 things at the end of LB felt the worst, so I guess it's a very good thing that I didn't attempt PlyoX today! Despite feeling a bit off, I got through the workouts pretty decently. My goal with the pull/chin ups was simply to do what I did last week; no attempt to improve. I'm very pleased to say that for both sets of regular chin ups, I did 5 consecutive unassisted chins, then did 11 more with the chair assist. For the switch-grip chin/pull ups, I did all of the chin ups unassisted: 8 the first time through; 6 the second. It just blows my mind to see this kind of improvement in only 11 weeks. And I have to admit I really, really like the way they make my back feel; from top to the very bottom. It's like a great big stretch.

Given my stomach troubles I was thinking about delaying ARX until later, but then figured, what the heck! I've just done 70 minutes of workout feeling nauseated, what's another 16? So I pushed play and got to work. Here's something to note: working your core does not affect your stomach. In fact, all the stretching of core muscles can actually improve how your stomach feels. For the first time with this program I did all 50 mason twists without a break. This workout has no dread factor for me anymore. The moves that initially felt "brutal" now feel, well, fine. And it goes by so fast that it doesn't seem like a chore. Just get busy, and in 16 minutes I'll be done! And when I'm done, my back always feels so nicely stretched out.

I really would love to have my shower then do XStretch, or even YogaX, but I'm supposed to be grocery shopping this afternoon. Buh! Why does life always get in the way of my fun?!

TraciX - see?? That's the problem with "listening to your body"! Mine doesn't seem to be connected with the part of my brain that hold the "this is healthy; this is not!" information. If I listened to my body, I'd do little more than lie on the couch and read fiction all day long. Sometimes I would eat, if I hit a boring part in the book. And I might put the book down occaisionally to stretch. I imagine your chest is pretty toasty today!! Excellent work!

Steph - on the topic of "discipline", that also works for "courage" (it's not the absence of fear, but it's about doing something even though you're scared). I especially like the little phrase "Do it anyway" when I'm starting to come up with excuses about doing something I don't want to do. I interpret it in two ways: Do it, anyway; and Do it any way. It's funny how these little phrases can have such big impacts on people.

Laurie - well that's ironic, isn't it? YOU, going to see "Happy Feet"? :) I wish your feet were happier. I hope the doctor has only good things to say about your foot. Good luck!

TracyX - funny you should mention the hanging knee raises; I was just thinking about them today and was wondering whether you'd tried any of the core work that can be done hanging from the pull up bar. What are barbell roll outs? Your plank "modification" sounds extremely hard. I'd have to do it very slowly to keep my balance. I find Cathe's "walking planks" at the end of CW too fast to do without falling. If I go slower, I do fine. Did you create that from your own masochistic brain?

Lea - ack, I'm sorry your toe is still being so nasty to you. Remove it!! You don't have time to wait for it to get better! And who needs a toe anyway? You have 9 more! Tosca's baked chicken was yummy, huh? Okay, it's going on my menu list for next week.

Jeanette - COPD. Yes, I knew it was something like that. My friend's mother had that and had a double-lung transplant last year. Unfortunately she passed away from heart complications about 8 months later. Is your father on a transplant list? How sad that he developed emphysema despite quitting so long ago. It doesn't seem right, does it?

Monica - <sigh> I'm so sorry you had such a bad stomach this week. And I would be like you; wanting to resist taking anti-depressents. There always seems to be side effects. It's not an easy decision for you to make. Good luck with what you decide. Has your stomach situation been diagnosed as a specific medical problem, or are you just dealing with a bunch of "symptoms"?

Well, I'd better go. Have a great day!
Sandra

Hi ladies...I am here after my adventure at school....Went pretty well today except DD was pouty all morning! Who knows why!?! Anyway...rest of the kids were great...but my tummy was a little upset this morning...probably from my fat laden dinner last night! I am supposed to do Sh+Arms today...but at this point I'm not sure if I'll get it in...because, guess what...I fell again last night! What the heck is wrong with me?! I saw the ice and stepped on it anyway...and fell on my bottom and really bruised my left palm and wrist...I know I have always been a clutz....but this has gotten out of hand! My hand is feeling tweaky just typing this...so I'll see how I'm feeling in a bit..but maybe I'll just do it tomorrow and add some cardio too...

No time for personals now..DD is asking to get on the computer for a little while...Hope everyone is staying warm and getting all their errands and chores done!

Huh. I did it. I did YogaX this afternoon. Oooohhhmmmmmmm. Very nice. I ran out of enough time to get the grocery shopping done, so I decided to postpone that until later. Now I feel lovely. My back and hips are so happy right now :)

Debra - another fall? Oh my. I often have Extra Gravitational Pull days, but I think you're having an EGP Month! Take care of that hand.

Cheerio,

Good evening! So I did Legs & Back and ARX after work. I then had an energy break and rested for about 45 minutes while the guys showed up for band practice. Then they went to the basement to play. Since it was all loud anyways I did 39 minutes of Taebo Get Ripped Advanced I and then for my cool down / stretch I did the beginning 12 minutes of Kenpo X. I really like the beginning of Kenpo X -- just not at the beginning of the workout. My legs and body are not ready in any way for that stretch cold. It was perfect after some Taebo though. I think I will be moving my rest day to tomorrow as I am pretty tired from tonight's workout and my hip feels tight. I think I'll do Stretch X tomorrow and Kenpo X on Sunday.

TRACY -- The other day you asked about my husband's band and I completely forgot to answer you. They play rock and roll music, all their own original music. I think that they are very good and love going to their shows, as long as they fall on a weekend.

I'm really sorry if I seem rude and haven't done many personals today or yesterday, just trying to keep up with life -- ya know?

I hope that everyone is well, healthy and happy! I'll be checkin in throughout the weekend.

I did Yoga Shakti today too and I just love that DVD. I agree with everything Monica said about it.

I got a few more replies to my ab question on the OD. I think that I’m going to check out the book and a couple of dvds. I really don’t want to spend too much right now, but I always consider my exercise important.

Steph – I hope you get better soon. Working out at 50% is not great, but at least you are getting it done.

Laurie – I hope the shoulder is OK and the foot too. Let us know what the dr says.

Lea – Wow! You just jumped right into a painting project? I envy you. I’ve been trying to get my husband to agree to fixing some drywall issues in our bathroom so that I could paint it, but no luck. I’m not good with drywall fixing at all, although I have tried it. I could just paint over all but one spot. No one will ever notice…. I hope th toe gets better. I hate it when I injure myself doing something stupid.

Jeanette – I’m bored with the straight cardio and I’m finding that the building of the routines doesn’t get my HR up much. I can’t wait to get out again. This is horrible.
I hope your Dad is doing better. It’s nice that they live so close.

Monica – Don’t worry about the personals, we’re just glad to here from you. Sorry about the stomach issues. I think that I’d be leery about taking an anti-depressant too; I guess it depends on which one. Some of them work on chemicals in the brain to fix imbalances, so I wonder what that does to someone whose neurotransmitters are in balance. Maybe the drug they gave you doesn’t work on those. I think I’d do some research on that before I started taking them. After I took Levaquin and ended up with Achilles tendonitis in both legs, my faith in doctors knowing what’s best has diminished. I guess I’m a rock fan forever. I just put on some live Led Zeppelin. My younger son (17) loves music, so he loads up the computer with all kinds of good music. I wouldn’t mind having a rock band in my house:)

Sandra – I have a bench with a bar on it for bench press, but it is high enough that I can sit on the bench and get under it and then move forward and stand. I really can’t safely get more than 65 lbs off of my back. I can’t seem to get barbell roll outs right, but supposedly you stand on your toes and then put your hands on the barbell and roll it out and in, pulling up through the core. I did them from my knees today with 25 lbs, but I don’t have the right barbell to do them from my toes. Roll outs with the ball are effective if you do them standing. I think that it is the stopping motion that really engages my core. Yes, I was watching RTTC and then made up some of my own stuff. Planks are effective for me, so I’m going to work on some more variations. The bosu is good for working the core too. Great job on the pull/chin ups. I made progress today and I am right on the edge of being able to do quite a few more. I have my ladder way out in front and use it so minimally now.

Debra – You fell again???? How many times is that? Do you believe in the things come in 3 rule?

Traci – I can’t wait to see what you think of the Leg Blast Premix. I love that one. Maybe you were doing too much this week? I’ve felt pretty good. I’m satisfied with my upper body routine, and still fine tuning my legs. I’ll probably still stay with 3 days a week and see how it goes. They do look rather lean….Today……..

Tomorrow or later,

Tracy

Evening Xers!

Just finished P90Masters UML, skipping the upper and lowers and doing the middle. I repeated it when I got done. Still not as effective feeling anyway as AbX but something different. I think this DVD will be a good one for my DH in the future. DH is working on the Bowflex tonite. I told him to do whatever he wanted so he chose some back work, chest work and is now doing crunches. He's eating much cleaner (for him) and working out regularly with enthusiasm. He also gave me a nice compliment on my arms today, so that feels good.

Sandra, glad you are feeling better today. Way to push thru it and get AbX done. Did you enjoy SJP? I like that one and looking forward to doing it again. I'm with you on AbX, no dread for me either and it just flows so well. I did UML from the Masters Series tonite and it's no where near as intense as AbX, but will be useful anyway. I'd never thought of a lung transplant for Dad. He's 74 and don't know if he'd be a good candidate for it. I may talk to Mom about it though. He may get to come home tomorrow morning. They took him off the oxygen today and will see how he is in the morning. Doc also said it was NOT pneumonia but possibly some allergic reaction. From what I read, emphyzema is almost always associated with smoking, which he did, but quit many, many years ago. Mom quit not that long afterwards too. She has been healthy as a horse all these years, thank God.

Debra, please stay on your feet girl! No more falling, okay? When I come close to falling, adrenaline shoots thru the tops of my hands, a stinging sensation. I'm hoping you've gotten it all over with. Gosh, take care of that hand too. Sorry you couldn't get your workout in.

Monica, you had a great workout tonite! I have Taebo Advanced too and need to get it out soon to throw in my upcoming rotation.

Tracy, I love Yoga Shakti too. I could just fall asleep at the end, the waves lapping, her voice, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Re: abwork, Diane Sue from the Hardcores and Lorajc both know some really good effective ab routines. You could ask them on their thread too. Check out "WD" (Diane Sue's) pictures. She's in her 50's and looks awesome and is a busy grandmother.

Going to watch The Bourne Identity now with DH. I have a program to attend for my Grandson tomorrow, looking forward to it. Not sure when or if I'll get any painting in. I need to at least start.
