Fabulous Friday Ladies!

Up at 2:25am thanks to 2 of 3 dogs feeling frisky. Is this whats its like having 3 kids all different ages? Good thing I was sound asleep early last night!

We decided we're heading to Bay for the weekend so I'll be out of touch this weekend... Hope everyone makes it a terrific one!

Before leaving I have Gym Styles Chest & Triceps & Ab work to do + a Yoga DVD I rented Yoga Zone Essentials Fat Burning w/ Alan Finger. I really like his gentle spirit and the flow of his beginners so thought I'd rent instead of buy.

**Saturday I have P90 Sweat Series : Sweat 5/6 lots of interval-ish work
**Sunday will be Kick Max I need cardio stuff on Bay weekends as I have no equipment there except a step & a tube.

Going to go read personals from yesterday ... BBL

   P E R S O N A L S

 TRACY X: Thanks for mentioning about dumbbells for levitation holds... I have the same issue as Steph, my arms are already fully extended - I will indeed use DB next time! havent heard of Shape Fit so I will check it out for sure! Congrats on Gauntlet }( + making it work for your daily goals! I actually love doing this as it keeps the boredom factor from coming into play with "as produced" versions. I hope you are just feeling fatigued from vigorous workout schedule this week. I am still feeling strong & energetic so I'm taking full advanatage of it. Maybe you should do an all stretch or Yoga day and see if you can recover a bit this weekend.

 LAURIE: Hope you have a great weekend planned!

 JEANETTE: What kind of rides do you have planned? Are your legs still tired & toasty from Spinervals? Cant wait to get my bike in March.. You are so motivating!

 DEBRA: Oh my you had your hands & EARS full yesterday! Funny about the workouts tho... Life does seem to give as stretches of time where its nearly impossible to get it all done in a day. Just enjoy the extra recovery time and bring it super duper strong when you can fit one in! You'll finish this thing yet!

 X: Have a great weekend!

 DB: Down to 1 workout I do believe! Way to go and hope your week has gone well!!!

 LEA X: You crack me up! No guilt/no worries on the cream! :9 If cream & sweets 1x a day are the worst you do to your body I think you are still quite healthy... We are all so hard on ourselves! So in "just viewing" Drill Max what are your initial thoughts? I never preview but I recall starting off each segment with "Well this isnt too bad" and by the end of eack one I was calling for MOMMY!

 DEB X: Hope all is well!

 Monica: How are your spirits these days? You are constantly in my thoughts.

 Steph: Thats wonderful you are feeling the chest from C&B! I was always so jazzed- such a hard area for me to get real good! Darn hose push ups! Will you be adding them freestyle to your next rotation like Tracy-X?

 Sandra: So whats our "single" gal doing for her big weekend???? Shoveling snow I'm sure but there must be something fun you can do to pretend to be single til' Monday! On the SAHM conference... Better get a woman elected President or taint gonna happen! LOLOL There is ZERO benefit to those men in giving you ladies that much deserved time off & pampering. I would add an addendum: If the housework is not done as well then SAHM gets additional day at Spa on Beach! :+ Thanks for book info on Yeast Free... This is actually just a 30 day yeast/dairy/sugar cleanse that helps identify possible triggers in your body. Its 30 days then adding dairy in first week and then yeast 2nd week & sugars 3rd week. This way you can see what your body tolerates / rejects for future food choices. It really compliments Eat Clean (Tosca)just takes it to another level. Other than having to eliminate my daily Protein Shake (dairy in ingredients) I was already pretty much there. I can see how it would be torture to someone going from typical american diet to this tho. ;-) As far as meds... Nope not concerned in the least! Doc did a wonderful job of explaining why you cant just take Thyroid or just estrogen etc... She showed me medical diagrams of how the hormone system works and is all related. One piece cant be missing if you want to function hormonally balanced. So my adrenals have to recover or the hormones wont be effective etc... BTW: I in no way took your thoughts & questions as negative, You know me well enough by now to know I hate putting chemicals in my system so I think it was considerate & caring that you asked. :7 Would you PLEASE bottle your love of Yoga X and send me some? I want to love Yoga and cry BOOTY too!!!! What is it about Yoga that just doesnt float my boat?????? I've done your Leaner Legs / CK circuit you told TracyX about! Its KILLER and I still have it written out as a Plateau Buster Workout!

Great day to all - I'll be back a time or 2 before leaving for Bay.

TGIF!

Traci - Up again so early??? My parent's dog gets my Dad up around 3:30 -4am, frequently. Mine would never come to me to get up early or go out during the night; I'm not nice if my sleep is disturbed. They always get my husband, but it's rare. Are you doing Gym Stlyes back to back? My triceps are definitely fatigued, but I have to watch that because that muscles seems to develop pretty quickly on me. At one point, before p90x, my husband said, "your tricep is bigger than your bicep" I'm like what???? Needless to say, I decreased the weight on my tricep work. Now I think they are OK. Have a nice trip and enjoy your weather. Still in the 20s during the day here. I know I probably shouldn't complain; others have it a lot worse.

Today is standing legs, back, abs and yoga (that I didn't do yesterday). Cardio for me too on Saturday and Sunday, not sure what though. I'll probably rethink the leg part of my rotation for next week, maybe???

BBL, hi to all who follow.

Tracy

Good Friday Morning!

Classic/Phase 3/Week 2/Day 5

Today was Legs and Back and it was a very nice workout. Last week, I only did the back work and also did Masters Sweat 5-6 along with it due to not wanting to fatigue my legs too much before the bike ride (good plan, cuz it worked). This week, I was able to increase most of my reps, or go up. Mind you, I'm not doing real pullups, just using the Bowflex lat pulldown tower. I hope to be up to 70# by the time this rotation ends. Still 2 more times to do L&B. I started out with 50# and am now doing most of the w/o at 65#.

Tracy, dog problems, I noticed while I was doing pullups the on the first round, my German Shorthair left a nice, fresh, still warm pile of vomit (freshly eaten dog food) right next to the TV. It was pretty easy to pick up thank goodness. Gave me a little breather anyway. My triceps have gotten pretty wide, if you know what I mean. Wonder if they are bigger than my biceps. All I know is I like it when I look down at them, very curvy :7.

Traci, hope you have a great time at the bay this weekend. It looks like it will just be raining here so maybe no bike ride on Sunday. Monday looks better and it's a holiday so maybe I'll get the ride in then. We have Netflix now so I should just think about renting a yoga video too before I buy. I'll have to check out what they have. I'm loving Netflix so far. We watched another Sherlock Holmes movie last night. DH likes the old ones with Basil Rathbone. My legs aren't tired or toasty at all from Spinervals. I'm pretty pleased. My Ironman girlfriend emailed me last night and commented on how much endurance and strength I've gained in the last year on the bike. She thinks I'll do well in the time trials this year. I hope so. Her comments made me feel very good. What kind of bike are you looking into buying? Mtn, road, comfort, tandem, unicycle?

Debra, my DH is still doing his workouts and really bringing it to each one. Maybe this next week I'll whip out one of the Masters Series for him. He likes the workouts short though, no 60 minute workouts yet.

Lea, hope today brings more recovery for you. You received the Tosca book? I ordered it but haven't received it yet. Looking forward to it.

Sandra, yesterday was a pretty easy day for me. My yoga wasn't intense at all, and the stretching was welcome. My legs/body haven't been fatigued so I'm pretty pleased. Maybe because I eat more protein now than I used to? The top of my right hand was pretty bruised from the blood draw, the rest of the bruising is gone now. Re: doing P90X, yep, I'll probably do another rotation but later in the year, after cycling season is over. I actually liked doing this during the holidays as it kept my eating in check more. I might try a lean rotation next time.

Well ladies, bbl with more personals.

Jeanette

Good morning everyone! Can you believe I am the third one posting?!? DD is home again with this nasty cold she has...It was probably too much on her yesterday with school, gymnastics and playdate! She is just really stopped up today...and she's in kindergarten, so it's not like she's missing a lot anyway! I am having the carpets cleaned in our family room this morning, so I won't be able to workout until late this afternoon since that is also the room I use to exercise. I finally worked out yesterday evening....but alas, I did not have time for B&B...so I did Cardio Kicks...someone was talking about it on the boards yesterday and it had been a while since I had done it...so I skipped the warm-up and the cool down and worked out for about 45 minutes...which was all I had time for! I should be able to get to B&B today after the carpet dries a bit.

Traci..Those crazy dogs! Mine knows way better than to wake me up...although she sleeps pretty late too! Have a wonderful time at the Bay this weekend! I am very jealous! We have about 6 inches of snow on the ground and it's frigid! Have fun with Gym Styles today and yoga...I am looking forward to doing Bryan Kest tomorrow...I really need the stretch. I also need to get to the Chiropractor since I have been getting a lot of headaches lately and they are usually caused by misalignment...Yoga will help get me through the weekend though! Have a relaxing weekend!

Tracy...Have fun with your workout today...Did you know that the tricep muscle is actually 60% of your upper arm...biceps are only 40%...Who knew!? No wonder your triceps were bigger if you were working them equally! You also reminded me that I had a dream last night that my arms were so flabby that my tricep area was flopping around in the breeze! Didn't remember that dream until just now.

Hi to all who follow..I'll bbl since I'll be sitting around waiting for my carpets to dry...Now, doesn't that sound like fun? I am sure you are all jealous of the exciting day I have in store!

edited to say the Jeanette sneaked in and now I am the 4th one posting!!

Hi Lovely Xers!

I just wanted to drop in to let you know that Don and I had to have our laptop serviced before the warranty ran out. Of course it has to be sent "away" for an estimated 2-3 weeks so that is why I have been MIA. It's very hard for me to get a moment to pop on while I'm at work (healthcare industry). I really miss posting and most of all viewing all your progress and post X fun.

Actually, it's kind of like withdrawl symptoms.

I shall return as we continue on our P90X journey!!

X:)

Morning X'ers,

Classic/Ph3/Week10/Day4

Just got back from my dentist office, now my teeth are nice and clean again. Today will be YogaX. My oldest doesn't have swim practice tonight so I don't have to stop my yoga, and can get the full 90 min. in.

Busy Saturday for me, I have my nieces B'day party to go to, youngest DD has a overnight B'day party, and oldest DD is babysitting her cousin. My DH has to be the Daddy chauffeur this weekend. }( About time!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good morning. I am still not working out, but am hoping by tomorrow that I will be able to. I feel so great and energized right now. I have to thank Miss Traci X for selling Tosca's book to us. I think that I have too much energy now, I don't know what to do with it all. I need to put my DH on this program. He is waking up all groggy with a lack of energy these days.

Anyway, it is awesome to read everyone's progress and what the graduates are doing after the X. Enjoy your day and your weekend.

Lea

Hi gang.. Well an unexpected cold front x( has rolled in so I am going to stay home with real heaters vs bay space heaters! We dont leave space heaters on at night so it gets pretty darn cold in the house down there... Oh well- it all happens for a good reason so I'll just be a single woman w/ 1 kid this weekend (DH will go rain or shine and take the "boys").

The best upside for sticking around this weekend is my workout plan... No weights at Bay so I can go back to plan A! No GS Chest & Tri today... Thats now back on for tomorrow. Today will just be Yoga + a 45 minute cardio. Good thing, as my upper is too fatigued to lift heavy anyway today!
:7

Jeanette: :)
Already whipped out L&B eh??? I'm a slug waiting for house to warm up! FUNNY poopie story!! Only dog lovers can appreciate those! WooHoo on awesome Lat pulldown incresaes!! You just gotta be all psyched up. Netflix has a terrific assortment of workout/Yoga DVDs. We've had Netflix for a year and it never dawned on me to start renting those! DUH! Lots cheaper than running out & buying everything I "think" I need/want. Looking at just a road bike.. I'd like to ride in the MS race one year (Houston to Austin)... Lots of hills so I'll really need to train for that. I already have a team to ride with if I want to go that route. Very cool about Spinervals not sucking the life out of you! Great gains girl. BTW: You have great Triceps too dont you? Whats your advise... Its my only wimpy muscle now... bugs the ba-jeebers out of me!

Debra: :D Oh my you were up and about on PC early today! Look out I'll have ya up with me at 230 in no time! Hope you get B&B in as planned! Clean carpets? How LOVELY!!!! Also hoping the headaches cease, those are so not fun!

Lea:  I am so happy you are getting value out of Tosca!! Her story is just so inspiring to me! Maybe you were just de toxing a little and that brought on all the yuckies! I am so happy you are feeling better and may get in a workout tomorrow. Mentally it will probably do you good! As far as DH eating clean.. Give me a holler when you get that to happen & share your secret!! lol

Laurie: :7 Happy Tooth Day! lol... You will be a busy lady this weekend. ENJOY! Have a great YogaX experience today.

X: :) Thanks for the update- Miss you and your posts!

Tracy X: :D Ok, what is the tricep secret from you? Do I try and do super heavy and 5-6 reps? Do I go lighter and do 12-15? The 8-10 reps w/ poor form at is not cutting it at all! Do tell how to make my Triceps bigger than my biceps- I'd like that!! Cedie has good biceps too! Enjoy Leg & Yoga marathonn today!

Happy day to all I missed ... BBL

CL/PH3/WK2/Day5: Legs&Back;ARX

Hola! PMS Power Mode is here, and I'm lovin' it! How can I bottle this energy for the rest of the month?

For my cardio warm up (and Cathe fix) today, I did RS warm up, combo1, challenge, and c/d stretch. It clocks in at 30 mins, gets me a glow on, but I don't have to go through the pedantic breakdowns of combos 2&3, and listen to Banshee Lady singing for an entire 60 mins.

Legs & Back went really well. That's a workout that has no dread factor for me. I always feel that Mon, Tues & Weds workouts are the tough part of the week, and I get to relax a bit and have fun from Thurs-Sun. Even the pull-ups in LB don't bother me. I look at them as a second hit on the back for the week, and put no pressure on myself to excel. And usually, I end up excelling :) I did 2 sets of 4 consecutive unassisted chin ups today, plus 3 more sets of 2 (so 14 altogether). I also managed 1 unassisted wide-grip pull up.

Oh, remember how I said I should attempt to do the wide leg sit ups in ARX with my legs crossed? Well, I tried that today, and could do them. Huh. I had no idea. I certainly couldn't do that 10 weeks ago! Guess what? P90X seems to work!!!

TraciX - have fun at the Bay this weekend! Did I already mention that CK/LL blend on the WW forum? I can't remember; probably did. I love it. It's a nice one for the lower body, isn't it? My only plans for the weekend are to take the kids to a b-day party Sat evening from 5:30 to 7:00. And I will be shovelling snow. It's gone into a snowy deep-freeze here. Oh well, that's Edmonton in February! (Maybe if I procrastinate long enough the neighbour will shovel my walk; they do that sometimes. DH also does theirs, too, so we kind of go back and forth with it). Here in Canada we have a Prime Minister, and we've actually already had a female one. She was kind of our Prime-Minister-on-the-Rebound, and didn't last very long, and was not of the ilk to increase social spending! Think Canada's version of Margaret Thatcher! I love hearing how your dr explained everything to you so well. It's sooo important to understand what we're doing when we put anything into our bodies. Have you noticed any changes yet? What's this?! I've just read down the list of posts- you're staying home?! We're glad to have you! And maybe without all the boys in the house, you'll get a full night's sleep! My triceps are well-defined, too. I think one of the best things for them is dips. Hate them, but I think they work really, really well.

TracyX - I just read yesterday that the tricep muscle makes up 60% of the muscle in the upper arm. So it's not surprising that your triceps can get large. Personally I like a very well defined tricep. It also probably serves you well with your push ups!

Jeanette - that's rapid progress on the lat pull-downs! Wow!!

Hello to the rest of the group. Nice to see everyone working so hard. I need to go shower now, then head to the grocery store. Ugh. Anyone want to go for me?

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi all,

TTOM is hopefully approaching soon because I have that unmotivated feeling that I have to push through this time of the month, no matter how many supplements I'm taking!

I was tired yesterday and today. I know today part of it was because I didn't eat regularly and by 3:30 was beyond the point of no return. Too lazy to get food ready this morning, just another PMS self sabatooge behavior. Like last night when I was cooking and doing a little snacking, which I don't do 3 weeks of the month. It's almost like an out of body experience watching myself do stupid stuff that I wouldn't normally do, but yet I can't control it.

Anyway, on the bright side, maybe the other reason I'm tired is because I'm shocking my system with my new workouts. Who knows, my leg/back workout and the yoga went so so, but I did my best, and I'm going to forget the rest.

Sorry to go on so much about the PMS. No time for personals, I haven't cooked dinner and I'm not really sure what I'm feeding everyone. I'll catch up on personals tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm assuming everyone else is too.

Tracy

Hi all!!

Just wanted to report that my carpets look lovely and I did ARX and B&B today...Woo Hoo! I was able to either up my reps or my weights on all my bicep work and felt really good about that....Traci, I am going to use your suggestion and get some 1 lb gloves to bump up my weights a bit...I'm not ready to lift 20s...but 15s feel too easy on some exercises. I didn't do great with back... I think I'm at my limit right now as far as back goes....I wish I had a lat pull down machine like Jeanette to work my back in a slightly different way. I thought ARX went well considering I haven't done it in at least a week...I was able to keep up with the kids and even added a few mason twists on the end! I still prefer Cathe's Core Max to this one...but I prosmise to continue to do it until I finish! I am looking forward to Bryan Kest tomorrow...I will add on yoga belly to this one.

Hope you guys all have great evenings! Wondering how Monica's tests went today...Keeping her in my thoughts and prayers today!

Debra

WOW!!! I just finished Drill Max for the very first time and I love, love, love it!! I was sweating up a storm but it was so fun. I LOVE the firewalkers. Yowza!! I also did ARX after that because for some reason I missed it.

But anyway, it was so nice to work out after about a week of not doing so. I think that I will do yoga X tomorrow and rest on Sunday and then start my actual rotation Monday. I can't wait. I so do miss working out.

I am glad everyone seems to be doing all right. I'll try to do personals tomorrow.

Lea

Hi Guys... Can you believe it I'm posting with the night team!!
JUST completed my days workout... maybe doing a PM one will shock my body! I had the 1/2 zombie day with 4 hours sleep last night so I just procrastinated on what cardio to do all day... Decided I could not go another day without Tony (its been like 8 already!) so I popped in Sweat 5/6 from Master Series... PERFECT as I was in no shape to do anything overly strenuous at least not for a long duration. Its got 6-8 minutes of Yoga and thats good cuz I never did Yoga today either! Very PlyoX-ish but all moves are just 30 seconds ... boom boom boom DONE!I feel better now that I actually stuck to my cardio plan. All I can recall are last 2 posts so I too will catch up with everyone else in the AM...

:7 TRACY: I am so sorry about PMS... It truly is an out of body experience with that and eating irregularly. Hopefully a good nights sleep will be the ticket for both of us!

:7 DEBRA: .... you were so funny on the forum today!! Thanks for the laughs! Didnt want to keep replying and hijack thread! Love the smell of clean carpets! You lucky girl! I'm with ya exactly on the 15-20 range.... way too big of a jump especially for forearms. I may head to Academy and look into some 17#s... on my other checkin a gal in Florida said she got then there really cheap a month or so ago. I think it could be awhile before I'm hoisting 20's for anything but 1 arm back rows. Congratulations on really seeing improvements all around... I guess you are living proof that its OK to take some down time and not lose any strength. Thansk for reminding us all of that.

I have to re-work my cardio plan for next week as I can tell my knees are not happy I am back doing so much step work... I'll have to rotate things around or maybe just use 1 riser on easier cardio days. We'll see.

Nice chatting in the PM gang! I always feel like I miss the party!
See ya in the AM:7

Hi all!

Did some house cleaning tonite and just finished Butts & Guts Stability Ball Abs for a change from AbX. DH was working on a pickup in the garage and took a shower so don't think he's working out tonite. He was just going to do some abwork, but guess that's scratched. Getting close to buying the paint for my painting project. It's supposed to rain all weekend, so might be a good time to at least get started on a room or two. I'll hate to do it when the weather gets nice so better get a move on. Have KenpoX on tap for tomorrow morning.

Debra, Cardio Kicks is one that I don't have. Maybe KPC would be a good sub tomorrow morning. Sure was nice to do a Cathe workout tonite. Hope DD is feeling better.

X - nice to hear from you. Hope you get the computer problems worked out soon. I would have terrible withdrawl symptoms if I didn't have my computer at home.

Laurie, hope YogaX was good for you. Reminds me I need to check Netflix for some different yoga.

Lea, please oh please tell me what is different with your eating to give you all the energy! I have the book ordered, but have not received it yet. It's been a while since Drill Max. I love the firewalkers too. Gets me where I need it.

Traci, sorry that it didn't work out for you to go to the bay, but sounds like you've accepted it just fine. Ooooh, a road bike. My favorite! Hills I really like on the bike and do pretty well at cuz I'm fairly small. The MS ride sounds great! I will want to hear all about your new bike when you get it. My triceps are okay, but I do have the dreaded wrinkles above my elbows, unless my arms are bent. Tricep dips help a lot I think. I liked Masters 5-6 Sweat too.

Sandra, you had an awesome week of workouts and if I remember right, really brought it good! Banshee Lady? Is there singing on RS? DH calls it circus music but maybe that's at the start.

Tracy, hope you get thru the tired feeling soon. I don't know, but I think the evening primrose oil helped my period this month. I didn't even get much bloat this time and no breast tenderness at all.

Got to go watch a movie with DH now,

Jeanette
