Xers Bunnies, Eggs & Chocolate Sunday

Back again...
Boy its QUIET here!
Hope all the gang is doing something fun this morning.... Our day will b like any Sunday @ bay (yippee!)....If there is an In-Law affair going on no-one called us (wouldnt be the first time!) & thats cool with us. Usually they throw together a very last minute family gathering...all the last minute stuff is doable as the "family" is all the kids & offspring of Wendells brother....I swear they have their own colony...Reminds me of an Amish community! lol

The time spent away from the "office" has been so good for me. My head is still not ready to jump back into a rotation but at least I'm not dreading Monday....Change of pace & scenery is so good for the soul. We took the boys to swim at the beach yesterday & I ran & played in the water with them...Had a blast. Matter of fact we went to bed at 730 and they are all still asleep at 6am-they slept past breakfast time! Tired pooches!

On the STS name... We could still use STS but using the full name spelled out...I cant think of the ideas right now but instead of posting STS Monday we could do Stanley The Stud Monday... Well you get my drift.... I'm game with WHATEVER!

SANDRA::
U didnt realize you were getting sick! So so sorry! Gosh I hope you feel etter today...Maybe the end of ttom is just messing you up...Fingers crossed its better today! I am due to "start" any day now.... hurry hurry I say! LUV CC2! I have 1-3 & I think 2 is my favorite. Maybe listening to Coach Sean will help me start moving again once I get home.

NICOLE::
Sorry you didnt like 10 min Trainers! They have a Master Series feel vs an X feel....at least you can return.

TRACY::
The only reason I'm not totally freaking out about fridge is that we are getting a very very healthy tax return...Having the business (both mine & Wendells) helped alot as the house isnt bringing us much in way of returns the past few years...We are still paying primarily interest so I'm not sure why but man its tough when the house is your only deduction.

JEANETTE::
LUV your little pups and interactive smileys! They are such a day brightener! What fun you had yesterday! I dont see you doing well cooped up indoors for long.... Glad the activities helped you w/ your brain too! Wendells surgery is Tuesday morning... He's nervous about the pain- I'm nervous about the bill! ha

KIM::
The running on ice soundsvery scary! Good heavens you all are dedicated! Have a blast today with your hunt!

WENDY::
Well I can only imagine what your bootay is actually saying to you! I used 30's ONCE for my hamstrings and got 8 reps out - then I couldnt get the back in the bowflex stand! You go girl! - I've seen the hamstring move many times & always wanted to try it but with no spotter its tough...I tried it close to a wall (hands) to catch you when your form goes. I think its more core intensive than hamstrings unless you are already strong...

Think thats it today.... Wondering if anyone get Easter Monday off? Alot of our companies here give Easter Monday vs Good Friday off...Id like that!

GREAT DAY to all!!!

Hi all,

I think today will be a rest day. I just got the old Brian Kest intensive body scultping and that is not long, but it is not nice. My legs were shaking by the end. It definitely is more tone and less yoga. He is so chatty in that one....Good thing I can block some of that out.

Traci - It has been quite here. Glad you are getting some quality away time. It is always good to get away from the cra* that we have to deal with on a daily basis. I still wouldn't worry about a rotation; who cares? Having fun and feeling good about it is the main goal, right? Is Wendell just getting the teeth pulled on Tuesday or more than that? I had all mine out at once just recently. It was not that bad. I was back at work the next day.

Wendy - I saw that exercise on Tnation too, then forgot to try it. I have no trouble keeping my hamstrings sore; maybe that is why. I picture you in your workout duds with your high heel close by to put on at a moments notice.... My DH surely would think Phil is one lucky guy:)

Happy Day to all,

Tracy

Just popping on to wish everyone a very happy Easter....( I typed 'Eater' instead of 'Easter..lol)! We are headed to Easter brunch with my BFF and then we are off to home. My head is definitely clearer and I have complained about XDH as much as humanly possible, so it should be out of my system so I can get on with my life. I will be glad to see my magic mechanic later, too. I need to focus again on my fitness and school...I have kind of lost that over the past few weeks...Always good to spend time away....a bit of rejuvenation to clear the mind like Traci said.

Well...I have an incredibly busy day tomorrow...so I probably won't get to personals until late, but know that I am thinking of you all and I miss you guys!!

Chocolate kisses to all...with a little bunny fur mixed in!
Debra

Good Bunny Morning!

The Easter Bunny brought me a hot cup of coffee with chocolate syrup in it this morning. How lovely.

Traci....You're living the life at the bay this weekend. What a wonderful day you had yesterday. Lukie and Kabo are some lucky pups!! And I'm happy you're seeing some improvement in your energy. I'm not going to start an official rotation, either. I'm going to follow a generic template for the week. It goes something like this:

Mon: high intensity cardio
Tues: total body endurance weight work
Weds: moderate/steady state cardio (kickboxing, probably)
Thurs: cardio & weights circuit
Fri: lower body
Sat: 45min bike ride; upper body
Sun: rest

I have an idea of what workouts I want to do, but I'm also free to switch them if I change my mind. For some reason I've got a bugaboo about doing Muscle Endurance. So, I'm thinking of doing it 3 different ways this week: as produced on Tues, the ME/BC bonus combo workout on Thurs, and Upper Body premix on Sat (after a bike ride). Coach Sean is definitely motivating, isn't he? I also love the way they have a subdued voice in the background that counts down the seconds until the start and the end of the intervals.

Jeanette....Yes, the friend we're visiting today is the one who had the lice problem at Christmas. She'd be mortified to learn that she's known to you all as the "lice friend" LOL!!!! I'll be definitely learning the rest of ASCI, as well. Amy's got some fun step choreography, for sure. Have you figured out that crazy shuffle she does in the first combo? I'm great on the left side, but when I do it on the right, I have to really work hard to spin myself around and end up facing the right direction. My polar HRM worked just fine when on the bike yesterday. I think sometimes it gets some interference that scrambles it. What a relief to finally be at the tail of that awful cold! CC#2 (revised version) went terrific. I sure do enjoy riding the bike. I feel it in my core really well, and sure did work up a sweat yesterday.

Tracy....I found Kest's Sweat video that Jeanette sent me pretty tough on the lower body, so I imagine anything he calls "intensive body sculpting" would be off the chart!!! Are you doing anything to celebrate Easter? I will hold off on your offer right now for the combo suggestions. When it comes to weight training I don't like to do a lot of starting/stopping/ff-ing of the disks or tapes. The constant interruption makes the whole workout seem to take much longer than it needs to, and I get bored or impatient. But thank you for the offer. Yup, we sure are all different. I've never in my life had to be conscious of eating enough. It would probably be more of an issue if I worked outside the house full-time and wasn't always standing in or near my kitchen all the time, bored.

Debra....Ah, what a refreshing post! Must be all that head banging your poor Meez is doing; she shook the cobwebs out. Man, that Meez cracks me up. That's exactly how I picture you after a few bottles of wine. I mean 'glasses' of wine, 'glasses'!

Nicole....Still painting? I agree $80 was too steep for such short workouts. If it allows DH to squeeze in some fitness time, though, I consider it money well spent.

Kim....Ooooh! Cold, wet foot!! That must have felt terrible! Yes, we did an egg hunt this morning. The 7 year old got up and found them all, then rehid them for her 2 year old sister to find when she got up. I'm sure we'll still be finding the odd egg around the house for weeks to come. Did your kids do the egg hunt?

Wendy....That's an interesting hamstring exercise. I'm going to try that. My main issue with used 35# dbs for deadlifts would be in keeping my shoulders back; they'd tire very quickly with that, I think. Did you finally push play? And do you mind that we're planning on changing the list name while you're half way through your second round? Shall we all politely wait until you're done?

I'm not sick now, so I'm not sure if my tiredness last week was an illness or not. It was definitely abnormal. Traci's right, that it was the last few days of AF's visit. I truly hope that wasn't some kind of hormonal fluctuation and I'm in for that every month.

I agree with those who were concerned yesterday that using the STS initials might gravitate too many people to the list. I'm not anti-newcomer, but don't really want a flood of people showing up, expecting us to be talking about STS. What were the other suggestions people liked? Watercooler? Le Cafe? I wish I could be more creative. I always loved how they named the coffee shop "Central Perk" in Friends. Very clever. We could always name ourselves "TTWDJKCCNSL"!! Can anyone guess what that means? Hint: It's sure to make newcomers feel very unwelcome!

DH goes to work on Monday, but the kids are home from school. This morning I need to make the cherry tarts and Ambrosia "salad" for today's Easter dinner at my friend's house.

We watched the first hour of "Michael Clayton" last night. It's very interesting!! We'll watch the last half tonight, probably.

Today's my rest day. Have a great day!
Sandra

Hi all,
Getting ready to head out on a bike ride this morning. Will see who shows up. If no one there, will do my own ride, probably a hill climb of some kind, even if it's short.

BBL,

Jeanette

Happy Easter Gang!!

Just popping in to say hi!!!!

I am on hiatus from painting today as we are popping back and forth between families to eat, eat, eat:p

I will be painting for the next few days and doing other home improvement projects in between coats. I will be glad when this is all over. I figure when I'm done I should have all my family and friends over to see my house clean and tidy. it doesn't happen very often so I want to get them in while it's good:D

Have a relaxing weekend all. The boys are out of school this week so that will take a load off.

:*

Nicole

We went to Sears & are the proud owners of a cheapie no frills refrigerator for bay...just a measley 679.00.... LORDY things have gotten expensive in that world! They will deliver to Sargent in April 1st so Wendell will HAVE TO take a day off from work & go as I'm doubling up sessions do to the retreat.

TRACY:*
Wendells having 2 wisdom & 1 molar out Tuesday... He's more than looking forward to an ice cream & chocolate pudding diet for a few days. LOL on Kest! If YOU say its a killer I'd literally be stuck on the floor! Enjoy your day of R&R! ~ Wendell would also think Phill hit the jackpot if he were aware of Wendy & her "outfits!"

DEBRA:*
Hoping you have arrived home safely & sanely! Tell MM we want him to work miracles for you tonight! Hows DD w/ the recent visit/departure of dad?

SANDRA:*

JEANETTE:*
Hope you had a fabulous ride today! So glad you are feeling better!!!

NICOLE:*
Sorry if I missed it but why are you painting & getting appraisal? Are you moving soon?

Off for Sunday night bonding time w/ DH...No TV, no puters, no pups...
:7

Back home safe and sound here...And I made it home without killing DD...which is a small miracle. Or maybe a large miracle. I had to stop by my mom's on the way into town for her to have a little chat with my Diva. I am hoping to see MM later this evening....but DD had a little meltdown at his store, so I wouldn't be surprised if he made a wide berth of us this evening. Anyhoo....Home...Not quite unpacked...but I walked in the door and after dropping the luggage I vacuumed and mopped the nasty floors. I will unpack and do laundry tomorrow, I guess, since I am out of detergent. Ugh.

Okay...Hope everyone has a great evening! See you all later..

Debra

Oh my goodness, I have had more calories this week than at Christmas time. It started with birthday cake on Sunday, then birthday cookies, sundaes and ice cream cake on Monday. Friday was popcorn at the Hannah Montana movie, yesterday was Easter dinner with my family with oreo cheesecake for dessert. Today I prepared Easter dinner for DH's family and we had strawberry cheesecake and lemon meringue pie for dessert. We won't even mention the Easter chocolate. ;( Yuck!

Ds and I just finished Plyometrics (for the last time) and it felt so good to wear off some of those calories. We had lovely family dinners but so much sitting and eating. ;)

Jeanette- You had an active weekend! Sounds like fun. The steak and shrimp sound yummy! Did anyone show up for the bike ride?

Wendy- That hamstring exercise doesn't seem like fun. 35#s WOW! I don't think I could go that high and keep good form espicially with the shoulders.

Traci- I'm so glad that you had a nice relaxing weekend away! That's too bad about the fridge. I think we will be replacing the fridge and stove this spring. Ours are from the 1970's and both still work but look terrible but hard to spend money when they still work.

Good luck to Wendell on Tuesday. I had 3 wisdom teeth out years ago and I don't remember it being bad at all. I remember going to teach swimming lessons that evening but of course I was only 19.

I'm off tomorrow, where I work we get Good Friday and Easter monday off so it's a 4 day weekend. The kids have school tomorrow though and DH works so I'm home alone :D

Sandra what a sweet dd you have! We did do a egg hunt this morning but it wasn't so peaceful. DD got up first and wanted to start hunting and she tried to wake up ds who got really mad at her, etc etc. It finally got done with out too many tears or yelling. ;(
Hope you had a nice dinner at your friends!

Nicole Enjoy your painting break! Are the boys on spring break this week? We have one more week of school left.

Debra- Sounds like you had a good trip except the ride home? I know my DD can be a nightmare to travel with sometimes.

Kim

Hello ladies,
Had a nice day today. Our group bike ride had 5 of us riders out on a beautiful Sunday morning. I actually got to ride in shorts, a short sleeved shirt, and short fingered cycling gloves. Felt so wonderful with the breeze on my bare skin. We did 28 miles. After I got back, I ate some lunch and then went out and played 9 holes of golf. Took a little nap when I got back and now am sitting here watching TV and typing to you all. Still have the post nasal drip thing going on http://www.emotihost.com/sick/7.gif[/IMAGE]. May go to the store and pick up some Mucinex Maximum Strength as was recommended by someone on OD. Another recommendation was colostrum from the health foods store. Hmmm, may have to research that one some more.

Traci, no one called us for an Easter gathering either, which didn't bother me. We had that big shindig Friday night so I was good with social events. So glad you got to clear your head and have some fun. I'm not so driven to improve my body like I used to be, but I do want to improve my cardio and strength on the bike, something that is easier for me to see results from my hard work. Plus, it's just FUN for me. Yep, getting out yesterday was good for both my DH and I. I feel so fortunate that both of us love riding the Rhino and exploring new places. Sending out good vibes for Wendell and his surgery. Hopefully, it will be anti-climactic and he'll end up wondering why he worried so much. Wish it wasn't so expensive for you guys. I'm not off work on Monday, but I am off the following Monday - Cesar Chavez Day for us California State workers. Hey, I'll take it. I come back for one day, then leave the following day for NC!http://www.emotihost.com/happy/5.gif[/IMAGE]. I see Aunt Flo showed. Boohoo, but glad you got it over with before the retreat. So sorry you had to part with the $679 for the new fridge. Always seems like something. DH put a new starter into his Ford Ranger pickup and says it needs a new fly wheel rebuilt or something like that. That thing has been a money pit lately.

Tracy, enjoy that rest today. I have that Brian Kest Intensive Sculpting video and it makes my legs shake too. Know time away from work has been nice for you. Back to the grind tomorrow? Hope the weather starts getting better for you http://www.emotihost.com/weather/4.gif[/IMAGE]. It got windy this afternoon but was pretty much windless while riding bikes, which we always love!

Debra, sounds like a wonderful time was had in Charleston. I keep thinking about those seafood burritos! Bet CBL missed you too http://emoticons4u.com/love/656.gif[/img]. Sorry your DD was a bit of a pill. Sometimes it's nice to get back on a schedule again.

Sandra, hope your Easter dinner with your friends was nice. Oh, so it was the "lice" friend. Seems like anyone with kids has gone through something like that, or pinkeye, or some other childhood disease/condition. Back in our day, we got mumps, chicken pox and measles. Your rotation looks good. I think I'll be getting in more cardio as I start feeling better and as the 1/2 Ironman date looms closer. Hill climbing is definitely on the calendar for this week. Yep, I have the crazy shuffle down as Tracy Staehle has it in her High Intensity Step Mix DVD, though she calls it "soccer drill". I'm looking forward to learning the other 2 combos. I usually learn new DVD's on the weekends when I have more time and don't feel rushed. Glad you enjoyed CC#2 Revised http://emoticons4u.com/sport/sport08.gif[/img]. I like that one too and it's not too long. I always picture Ewoks from Return of the Jedi in that one. I think it's where he says the village awaits you.... We have some very quiet roads to ride on here and I like doing CC on those. I ride with a mirror on my sunglasses so I'm always aware of traffic coming up behind me. I'd rather be without a water bottle than my mirror, I swear. I figured out right away what the initials to the check in meant. And only one cup of coffee too! Do you have a 5 disk DVD changer? Is it necessary to have one that you can program from one disk to the next? I think those are harder to find, but is it necessary? Did you enjoy Michael Clayton? We haven't seen that one yet.

Nicole, enjoy your rest day today and enjoy the family festivities. Your house will be all brand new looking soon. Way to go on the hard work. Are you selling it? http://www.emotihost.com/working/6.gif[/IMAGE]

Kim, doesn't it seem like it's eat, eat, eat sometimes? I've been over at my parents house before right after breakfast and Dad is already wondering where they will go for lunch. Way to go on finishing PlyoX for the last time. DH finished the leftover shrimp and steak today. He loves to cook and I'm so thankful for that. Wish he'd make some popcorn right now LOL! Yep, we had 5 for the ride. My 75 year young friend was the first to show up. Bet he had 35 or more miles when he got done. I had 28 on my cyclometer. Very pleasurable ride. I've got the best riding buddies! Oreo cheesecake, sounds wonderful http://www.emotihost.com/drooling/3.gif[/IMAGE]. Care to share the recipe? I'd love to have it. I was looking through my recipe box the other day and I swear 90% of the recipes were desserts and sweets. What can I say?

Must go now,

Jeanette

GS BS&B

Ok, where is everyone getting the emotion icons? They are too cute:) I love the painting one the most as it is so me right now:p

I will be painting once again today, much to my dismay:p We are having the house appraised for a refinance. We have never done one so it's about time.

Yes, the boys are on Spring Break this week:+:+ No driving:D

I hope to pop in later when I get a break between coats.

Retreat is getting close girls and I'm getting more and more jealous. Granted I am glad to be going to see my sister I just wish somehow I could have done both.

See you all in a bit,

Nicole
