Cathlete
Morning gang- Happy Weekend! WooHoo!

Today is LIC + Shiva: Yoga Shakti

Looks like everyone had hot plans for Friday night & Wendy was posting as they were running out the door...

Wendy: great visuals of you being pulled to the finish line by a muscular boy in school! I would never make you give me your lunch... thats diff between boys & girls! I just want your used designer clothing! ;-)
So you said "Cathe next week"..... do you graduate this weekend? My goodness I am so confused! PLEEEZE tell us exact day you have earned your X title! I thought you & Nicole were finishing at same time. Your Black Corvette will never arrive in time now!

Caught up with all you crazy Xers yesterday.... Have a FABULOUS day- may it rain for those who need it and not rain for those who are drenched already!

Good Morning gang.

Sorry to be MIA yesterday. I would have posted from work, but it seems that they feel the need to crack down on internet usage. Oh, well, suffice to say that I do think about you guys!

Tracy- that's pretty much what I've decided to do.....ignore the scale's presence in the corner of the bathroom. I like what I'm seeing in the mirror and on the measurements, so it's interesting that the scale number just doesn't bother me!

Traci- Lots and lots of prayers for you and Wendell on Monday, as well as with your MIL. I hope that all goes well and I am sorry that the other children don't feel the need to help out. I would be happy to help if I were closer!

Laurie- I am sorry that I missed your big day. I hope that it was a great one and I am so proud to be associated with someone who has more discipline that I do!!! Congratulations!

TG- I am sorry to hear about your nephew. I hope that he's recovering well. Lots of hugs and prayers to you and your family!

Yesterday was my speed HIIT session. I really wasn't up to it because of DOMS from Thursday's upper body, but I ended up doing it and feeling great about it. Today is a total body weights. Tomorrow, I think that I will finish out the week with a nice walk around the neighborhood.

Hugs and kisses......

Hi all who around on the weekend!

I had a nice run yesterday then did an hour of Shive Shakti, which I really enjoy. My legs definitely felt fatigued from LL the day before, so I stayed mainly on the flat. Plus it was so hot I wanted the dog to be able to get in the water periodically.

Today is upper body for sure, yoga and then maybe 20 minutes on the eliptical. I need to make a loose plan for the next few weeks because we will be traveling quite a bit. I'm trying to workout pretty hard until our two week vacation, mid August, then take that as a recovery with very light workouts.

Traci - When I said nice, I meant low 90s and less humidity. It's always somewhat humid here but Thursday it was like a sauna; 78 felt like 98, but worse. I know you know what I mean. It is really hard on my doberman, who almost 8. I left her home yesterday when I ran and I'm sure she was a mess. No, I haven't done yoga X since the X. I just can't take Tony seriously as a yoga instructor. Just because you do one aspect of fitness well, doesn't mean you can do them all. It may have been better if he had brought someone else in to do the yoga piece.JMO.

Wendy - I do an hour of yoga most days. My kids are older though and I have the time. I didn't several years ago. In addition to the flexibility, it really has a calming effect on me that I like. Yes, I think if you kept a food journal you might see some trends. My issues had gotten so bad that I had to do something. I was miserable and I'm sure everyone else was. It is bad enough that it is just not worth it to me to eat the foods that I know cause me problems.

Later guys, I have to clean some. After being gone all last weekend, there is some mess that I just can't ignore.

Tracy

Amy - You snuck in on me while I was posting. I wonder about work and internet usage myself. I had a scare a while ago and went to access the Cathe site twice, and couldn't get on. Then I started thinking that the powers that be had blocked me from the site. I was wrong, but I do think about it now when I'm on. I think that everyone goes on the internet at work. The system I'm in is so big that I just don't know how they could control it. I haven't tried the HITT on the eliptical yet. I'm having real issues with working out inside. Glad things are going well.

Good morning everyone! I survived my first day back on the workout cycle...barely. I ended up doing MM...and I also had a lot of breaks since I had a ton of workers in the house yesterday...but the breaks were good...I needed them! Today I have major DOMS in my chest, inner thighs, and buttocks! I am planning on doing some kickboxing today...maybe a bit later though, after I have woken up fully.

My good news of the day...I am down a couple of pounds! I weighed when we got back from vacation..and was still hanging onto 2 pounds I really wanted to get rid of...but when I weighed I didn't know ttom was going to start the next day...so I weighed again this morning and I am at my goal weight of 115!!!!!! I try not to go too crazy over the scale...but it does matter to me. I am sure that working out yesterday made the difference...LOL!

We went to the farmer's market yesterday and I got some squash...my favorite veggie...I'm going to make a casserole for a covered dish dinner DD and I are going to on Sunday. I also got some plants to fill in my landscaping a bit..I am thinking I will head back out there today because I got a really good deal on some lilies and I want to get more of them. I did do some planting yesterday afternoon and I have more to do today after I run out and get some more potting soil! Then went over to a friend's house and helped him carry a 100 pound stuffed marlin to his top floor condo.

let's see.....onto some personals...

Wendy...Hope you have a great time at your sister's! You will cross that finish line of the X...I know it!! I could tell you stories about Southern Baptists that would make your hair curl!

Traci...Have fun with LIC today...I really like the step in that one. Again, I am not sure if I have ever done that one as produced...let me know how you like it! My worker bees still have some things to finish up...but I will be able to do most of the downstairs this weekend, which will be a good thing. I understand about the humidity and heart rate...I don't seem to handle the heat the way I used to....I was bending over planting yesterday and was dizzy when I stood up too quick. I love being perimenopausal!

Cheryl...So funny you mentioned the water fridge in your friend's workout room, I was thinking the same thing yesterday as I was working out...I will probably get one today to have up there! Hope you are having fun on your long run today. How is the weather out your way? Unbearably hot?

Nicole...I am going to think for a bit about your veggies...And will be back with more ideas...One thing I will suggest, though is just roasting in the oven a variety of fresh veggies...I like to use peppers, squash, zucchini, onion and eggplant...but what ever you like would work...Drizzle some olive oil and add some a dried herb mix that you like (my fave is herb de province) and roast them at a high heat for 15-20 minutes on a sheet pan. You can eat on these all week...good warm or at room temp...My DD loves them and used to take it in her lunch box. How was LB yesterday...and how is Dreya doing??? Haven't thought about her in a while!

Swifty...Sounds like you had a great vacation...And I notice you are almost to the finish line of the X...WooHoo!!

Tracy...God bless your heart for cooking lasagna for your family and then eating veggies! That takes a lot of will power!

Hi to Sandra, LaurieXX, Amy, and Teddygirl. Okay...I am off to the Lowe's to get some potting soil and a fridge for my workout room!!

Later gators!

Amy and Tracy...You both snuck in while I was posting! I also talked to DH for a while....

Amy...Sounds like you had a good workout yesterday...and a good plan for the rest of your workout week. I think it's great to ignore the scale especially when your clothes are fitting well and your measurements are going down. It seems as if you are heading in the right direction!

Tracy...I agree with you about Tony and yoga...He's just too in your face with the whole thing. Sounds like you had a good run yesterday...My pooch would have pooped out...she gets overheated pretty easy...kind of like me now that I think about it! Did I ask you before, how do you like your elliptical? I've only used one a couple of times. Just wondering about your thoughts as a cross training tool.

Okay...I'm really done now...

Debra - You did ask me before about the eliptical. Honestly, I haven't used it much because I'm running 2x week and riding once. I can't seem to get in the 4th cardio, maybe today. I plan on using it more in the winter. I'd only used one on vacation too, but loved it and thought it would be a great way to add in non-impact cardio. Amy uses hers quite frequently, and I've read that others have seen improvements in fitness and tone. I do think that it is a good cross training tool. I didn't want a treadmill because I can run outside, you can't duplicate the motion of an eliptical.

I wish my kids would have eaten roasted vegetables in their lunches. I guess I didn't train them right:)

Swift Amy, I'm glad you had sucha nice time camping. It is always hard to leave when you are enjoying yourself so much. That was definitely worth getting behind on the X for:)

Traci-X, Thanks for the CTX advice. I feel out of the loop without it, I like to workout dor over an hour but in the summer, I am pooped. It is really humid here right now. The weather guy keeps saying it's monssonal moisture and it makes me go weak in the jnees:)LOL:p Keep us up on how your MIL is doing, you're such a sweetie to help out like that.

Wendy, Hope you are having a great time with your sis. It's a much needed break, I know:) I'll try that recipe on Monday!

TracyX, I never knew Virginia got so hot and humid. It always looks so pretty in pictures but you never can see how hot it is:) Sounds like quite a varied workout today. I'll let you know how the eating goes and thanks for the help with that!

Debra, ^5^5, way to go!!! How nice to be at your goal weight. Now just don't get on the scale ever again and always pretend you eweigh that as long as your clothes fit:)LOL:p L&B was good as usual but I'm glad I'm almost done with it. I love grilled veggies and I'm glad my DH does too. My zucchini is almost done in the garden and I'll be so glad. I love making dishes with it.

SandraX, Hi'ya!! Are you such a busy gal or what? Hope to see you today:)

Hi Cheryl!

Hey Laurie, where are you?? You graduated so you took a break, huh? I only have two more weeks:)

Jeanette, Still camping? Hope the weather is cooperating and you're getting out on the Rhino and napping in the woods with DH:)

Hi Amy!

Hi, everyone!!

Traci, enjoy that LIC. Love it!

Amy, so glad you got that HIIT in even though you didn't feel like it.

Debra, good job on getting back in the swing and double congrats on being at goal weight.

Nicole, good to see you and hope you're headed for a great day!

This morning I was TIRED. Slept in and did just 10 min. of GS tri's (because I skipped Tri's yesterday) plus cardio only of C&W for a total of 40 minutes. So it was a semi rest day. But I am finishing up the strongest week I've had in awhile so I'll take it.

I will help DS pick out a b-day gift for a friend today and grocery shop - but that's about all.

A nice lazy Saturday.

Have a good one, everybody! I'll check back in later -
Cheryl

Hi...back again...feeling pretty tired today...and thinking I may take a nap. DD has slept with me the past couple of nights and I don't sleep as well with her in the bed....Last night she kept putting her feet under my legs and she was laying almost sideways in the bed! I did get my potting soil and went back to the farmer's market for some more plants and got what I needed. I will have plenty to plant for the next couple of days. I really need to get working on these boxes in the kitchen, but I am just not feeling the love for it right now. I still haven't exercised either...legs are VERY sore.

Tracy...I may look into an elliptical after we finish doing all of the stuff to the house we want...and I'll see how much money we have left.

Nicole...I am not talented enough to grow my own veggies...but now we are close enough to the farmer's market, I can get some there! And my new next door neighbors gave me a handful of cucumbers yesterday. You're almost done...the finish line is in sight!!!!

Cheryl...I got a mini fridge today...I am already happy about it!! Now I just have to get the motivation to workout today. I wish I could have a lazy Saturday, but I feel guilty!

Okay...I think I am going to head out for a nap...Will bbl to check in with you guys!

Hi all,

I finished PUB, no abs, and a 30 minute interval workout on the eliptical. It felt good, but I was watching the timer the entire time. That's what is so good about running. There is more to keep the mind occupied.

Off to shower and go try to find some shorts. I'm not really in the mood to shop, so it may be a short trip. I desperately need some.

Nicole - Glad you got Kenpo in. I really did enjoy that one. Not much time left for you. Yes it is very humid here. That's why we enjoy it so much when we vacation out west; no humidity.

Cheryl - Maybe tomorrow's workout will be better. Isn't it your long run?

Debra - I never can take a nap during the day unless I'm sick. There is something mental that just won't let me do it.

Sandra, Laurie, Swifty, Wendy and all who follow, I hope all is well.

Later,

Tracy

I ended up doing LIC Lower Body Circuit as I want to work upper split tomorrow…I just love LIC so much… Cathe has an aura in this one that leaves me feeling centered & strong & peaceful throughout. I cant put my finger on it….
Shiva still pending for later today

I’m following Debra to take a nap…. I have had an ultra productive day and I am beat.

Thanks for all your support re: my MIL. My SIL let me know that she and DH & DD are now coming into town to help with her mom… Praise the lord! If I hadn’t emailed her to get contact #’s for her on Monday I never would have known… Now Wendell and I can go to Plan B- whatever THAT is!
My family are planners and his are “Oh- didn’t we tell you” …. We try and laugh about it but it really makes me us crazy…. To me its rude- to them its just the way they operate. I guess I just need to lighten up. We do end up missing a lot of family functions tho as we stopped canceling our pre-made plans to accommodate them… that’s the sad part.

TracyX
Good job with the Saturday w/o! If I had your abs I’d skip all ab work forever more! Good luck with shorts… The last time I searched I got so frustrated… ended up ordering 4 pair from Oldnavy.com. I totally understand about Tony/Yoga… I think I’d never put it in again except that with doing it so much now I just look forward to variety of styles. You know I have no attention span!

DebraX
Congrats on all the new purchases since the move! I LOVE gardening but the heat/humidity can take its toll out there. I always laugh about the humidity Tracy, Amy, You & I have… We live in the prettiest green places but the price we pay is the humidity… Your casserole should be YUM-O! I just roasted up a ton of veggies and man the house smells so good! WOOHOOO on goal weight and LOL on never weighing again! I am so there! Once I see my magic number the scale is going out the door! Lovin’ those muscles today eh????

Nicole
LOL- I can feel you losing the love! Just 6 more workouts and you are technically DONE! JUST SIX!!!!

Cheryl
Congrats on a very strong week! WOOHOO!!!!! I knew once you settled a bit into your new business that you’d find your groove again. I am eating so clean right now I think Tosca might show up on my doorstep! I want to be at my goal too darn-it! Happy shopping to you as well!

Amy
Always something at the hospital! I understand about the net & work too…. I never ever played at work unless I was eating lunch in my office… I was too chicken that I’d be made an example of! Congrats on pushing thru your mental & physical blocks yesterday with HIIT! That’s the key to success isn’t it? I am so happy for you girl!

Off for a nap as soon as the chicken comes out of the oven… happy afternoon to all!!!

LaurieXX, Swifty, SaundraX, Wendy & JeanetteX…. Hope your day is filled with f

Back to say hello...although I can barely type through all of my blisters!! I ended up taking a nap...but DD woke me up to let me know that the dog had eaten a cucumber...I left one of the cukes on the counter from my neighbor and she got it down and gnawed on it. Crazy dog!! Then went outside to work on my planting...got 5 more lilies in the ground...then I decided it would be a good idea to haul rocks around. Our land is really rocky...so I am trying to make lemonade out of lemons...and I am going to line all of our new tree and plant beds with rocks. In Illinois you would have paid a premium price for that...and I have them free in my yard...LOL! Anyway, I moved rocks around for a couple of hours...I finally quit around 7:45 and had a little dinner...I am even more sore now than I was this morning. I love getting older. So I am counting rock moving as cardio...'cause I can tell you my heart rate was certainly up there!!

Traci..Hope you had a good nap and that none of your dogs were eating things they shouldn't! Sorry the in-laws are a pain in the a**! At least they will be there to help with MIL, so that is a good thing! It would drive me crazy to fly by the seat of my pants all of the time too! I am definitely more of a planner.

Tracy...Glad you enjoyed PUB...That is always a good one...In fact, I may try to do that one on Monday. I will probably do yoga tomorrow...I have a feeling I will need to stretch a bit!

Okay...gonna watch TV for a while until DD falls asleep and I can get into bed. She is sleeping in my room until the painters get her room back in order...I hope on Monday!
