Hello again! It's that blissful pause I get mid week. The chores of the first half are over with, the social obligations of the second half have yet to begin. I have a 30 min window between the two . So, how's your day been so far?
Traci....Ugh, business parties are a necessary evil. At least you get to wear jeans and don't have to squeeze into something new and expensive just for one evening. That's uplifting to read that you don't have anything the right size in your closet LOL!!! Down 5 lbs already?! I shall not question your P90X strategy ever again! Speaking of darting around the internet universe, did you see that link in one of the OD threads to the End of the Internet? "This is the end. There is no more. Go read a book, take a walk, or just enjoy life." Very funny. Is that truly the name of an L movie, or did you make that up? That's HILarious! I shall bring the kids to the North Pole this evening. Thanks for the link! If I asked DH for 45 gifts, he's give me 45 pennies. I wonder what Wendell is cooking up? So, does the weekend before work for you? Well, look at that! Your reputation is starting to spread, and in a good way this time Be sure to let us know if she calls you. I got your card yesterday. Thank you so much. Since we no longer mail them out, we rarely get any, so your card has a place of honour on our mantel No phone service for possibly a week? Dang, and I was going to call you today. It's the annual "Canadians call Texas for Free" day. There's always next year....
Tracy....That mind racing thing is so exasperating, isn't it? It sucks to discover a problem at 3am that you can't do anything about until at least 8am. I hope you enjoy your workout today. Your run yesterday sounded idealic. Are you taking another course?
Debra....Ooooooh can we do that firepit/marshmallow thing when we come for a visit? That sounds like fun! I'll bring the graham crackers and Hershey bars! Since same-sex marriage is still not legal in Las Vegas, I wouldn't even presume to think that you and Carol Beth had eloped. Stay strong, friend. Brad and I...I mean Brad and Angelina have chosen not to officially tie the knot until it's legal for everyone. It's a grandiose show of support for couples like you. Thanks for the description of SM vs SH. I guess it all boils down to: similar enough to complement each other, but different enough to offer refreshing variety. Got it! Go kitty go!! Meow.
Teddygirl....I just realized you aren't doing Legs & Back on Fridays, which would explain why you want more upper body work. I find the pull/chin ups in LB are a total upper body workout in themselves. And then there's all that punching in KenpoX on Saturday. I'm glad you enjoy PlyoX so much. Do it a few more times for me, okay? I really dislike all the squat jumps. They feel too much like work
Jeanette....I didn't realize you were back spinning with the Garage Boys. How's that going? Are you doing Spinervals? LOL!!!! My DD turns my head, too. If DH tried it I'd slap him upside the head. Unless Ocean's Eleven is on, I'm not interested, thank you very much! The wireless was really easy to set up (after a couple phone calls to their tech help, but the service was prompt!). If it's possible, then I highly recommend it. I think another known diuretic is asparagus. I'll have to research it a bit and see what more I can find. The brownie recipe is at the end of this message. DH must look for things the same way my 7 year old daughter does: half a$$. I loathe having to search for things. I see my life flashing before my eyes, and don't want to waste a minute of it looking for something that should have been found in its rightful place.
Carol....I'm glad things are on the upswing for you. Okay, I'll have to search for that FireFox and see what I find. Thanks for the recommendation. LMAO at Traci's comments. No way in he)) would I do PlyoX 3 times in a week!!!!! You'd have to promise me a binge-without-consequences for that to happen. I'm not so sure about Teddygirl, though. Didn't Nicole do it twice in one DAY, her first week of Round 1?
Laurie....Very nice workout combo this morning. I have cherished memories (huge sarcasm in my font) of doing dishes with my brother every night. Many wounds were inflicted, both emotionally and physically. Save your children from that; get a new timer!! LMAO about noticing Tony's chatter. During the upper body weights I relish the rest time, but during ARX it just feels like delaying the inevitable. It really speeds things up, doesn't it?
Nicole....I've heard that about Mac and viruses: rarely a problem. That was one of the reasons we decided to switch. My goodness, you and DH aren't building just another gingerbread house, are you? Is this life size? Are there functioning windows and doors? Do the kids sleep in it on Christmas Eve? Will there be pictures?
For those who dare, here's the recipe for the Yummy Peanut Butter Bars. Funny, last night DD made a request for these as the dessert for Friday night's party. If you want just a super good chocolate cake recipe, only make the cake portion of this recipe. It's really moist and delicious all by itself:
BROWNIE
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
PEANUT BUTTER FILLING
1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
dash of salt
1 egg
1 6oz pkg (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips (I usually use milk chocolate)
Mix all ingredients for the filling, except chocolate chips. Stir in chocolate chips.
Heat oven to 350F. Grease rectangular pan (13x9x2 inches). Prepare Peanut Butter Filling; reserve. Beat remaining ingredients on low speed about 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly, until moistened. Beat on medium speed 1 minute, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan. Drop Peanut Butter Filling by teaspoonfuls over top of batter.
Bake about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in chocolate portions comes out clean; cool. Cut into 2x1.5 inch bars. Store in refrigerator. 36 bars.
