X Team- Workin Fools Wednesday!

Hello again! It's that blissful pause I get mid week. The chores of the first half are over with, the social obligations of the second half have yet to begin. I have a 30 min window between the two :) . So, how's your day been so far?

Traci....Ugh, business parties are a necessary evil. At least you get to wear jeans and don't have to squeeze into something new and expensive just for one evening. That's uplifting to read that you don't have anything the right size in your closet LOL!!! Down 5 lbs already?! I shall not question your P90X strategy ever again! Speaking of darting around the internet universe, did you see that link in one of the OD threads to the End of the Internet? "This is the end. There is no more. Go read a book, take a walk, or just enjoy life." Very funny. Is that truly the name of an L movie, or did you make that up? That's HILarious! I shall bring the kids to the North Pole this evening. Thanks for the link! If I asked DH for 45 gifts, he's give me 45 pennies. I wonder what Wendell is cooking up? So, does the weekend before work for you? Well, look at that! Your reputation is starting to spread, and in a good way this time ;) Be sure to let us know if she calls you. I got your card yesterday. Thank you so much. Since we no longer mail them out, we rarely get any, so your card has a place of honour on our mantel :) No phone service for possibly a week? Dang, and I was going to call you today. It's the annual "Canadians call Texas for Free" day. There's always next year....

Tracy....That mind racing thing is so exasperating, isn't it? It sucks to discover a problem at 3am that you can't do anything about until at least 8am. I hope you enjoy your workout today. Your run yesterday sounded idealic. Are you taking another course?

Debra....Ooooooh can we do that firepit/marshmallow thing when we come for a visit? That sounds like fun! I'll bring the graham crackers and Hershey bars! Since same-sex marriage is still not legal in Las Vegas, I wouldn't even presume to think that you and Carol Beth had eloped. Stay strong, friend. Brad and I...I mean Brad and Angelina have chosen not to officially tie the knot until it's legal for everyone. It's a grandiose show of support for couples like you. Thanks for the description of SM vs SH. I guess it all boils down to: similar enough to complement each other, but different enough to offer refreshing variety. Got it! Go kitty go!! Meow.

Teddygirl....I just realized you aren't doing Legs & Back on Fridays, which would explain why you want more upper body work. I find the pull/chin ups in LB are a total upper body workout in themselves. And then there's all that punching in KenpoX on Saturday. I'm glad you enjoy PlyoX so much. Do it a few more times for me, okay? I really dislike all the squat jumps. They feel too much like work :)

Jeanette....I didn't realize you were back spinning with the Garage Boys. How's that going? Are you doing Spinervals? LOL!!!! My DD turns my head, too. If DH tried it I'd slap him upside the head. Unless Ocean's Eleven is on, I'm not interested, thank you very much! The wireless was really easy to set up (after a couple phone calls to their tech help, but the service was prompt!). If it's possible, then I highly recommend it. I think another known diuretic is asparagus. I'll have to research it a bit and see what more I can find. The brownie recipe is at the end of this message. DH must look for things the same way my 7 year old daughter does: half a$$. I loathe having to search for things. I see my life flashing before my eyes, and don't want to waste a minute of it looking for something that should have been found in its rightful place.

Carol....I'm glad things are on the upswing for you. Okay, I'll have to search for that FireFox and see what I find. Thanks for the recommendation. LMAO at Traci's comments. No way in he)) would I do PlyoX 3 times in a week!!!!! You'd have to promise me a binge-without-consequences for that to happen. I'm not so sure about Teddygirl, though. Didn't Nicole do it twice in one DAY, her first week of Round 1?

Laurie....Very nice workout combo this morning. I have cherished memories (huge sarcasm in my font) of doing dishes with my brother every night. Many wounds were inflicted, both emotionally and physically. Save your children from that; get a new timer!! LMAO about noticing Tony's chatter. During the upper body weights I relish the rest time, but during ARX it just feels like delaying the inevitable. It really speeds things up, doesn't it?

Nicole....I've heard that about Mac and viruses: rarely a problem. That was one of the reasons we decided to switch. My goodness, you and DH aren't building just another gingerbread house, are you? Is this life size? Are there functioning windows and doors? Do the kids sleep in it on Christmas Eve? Will there be pictures?

For those who dare, here's the recipe for the Yummy Peanut Butter Bars. Funny, last night DD made a request for these as the dessert for Friday night's party. If you want just a super good chocolate cake recipe, only make the cake portion of this recipe. It's really moist and delicious all by itself:

BROWNIE
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt

PEANUT BUTTER FILLING
1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
dash of salt
1 egg
1 6oz pkg (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips (I usually use milk chocolate)
Mix all ingredients for the filling, except chocolate chips. Stir in chocolate chips.

Heat oven to 350F. Grease rectangular pan (13x9x2 inches). Prepare Peanut Butter Filling; reserve. Beat remaining ingredients on low speed about 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly, until moistened. Beat on medium speed 1 minute, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan. Drop Peanut Butter Filling by teaspoonfuls over top of batter.

Bake about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in chocolate portions comes out clean; cool. Cut into 2x1.5 inch bars. Store in refrigerator. 36 bars.

You guys are cracking me up!!! Poor CB when you guys finally come for a visit...He won't know what to do! Where did the whole transgender thing come from??? I am sure you have all scared away any lurkers we may have had! No wonder no one wants to join in our check in!!! We scare them all off...That is probably why we haven't seen Lea, Amy, Amy and Cheryl lately. They took a look at the thread and decided things had taken a turn for the worse!

Back to the topic of fitness...I was really glad I went to my yoga class once I got there. We did a lot of work on the yoga wall today which was good....lots of shoulder and back stretches...which included my sore biceps...so all good things to report!

My visit to the dentist went well....got a cleaning and he filed down the chip in my tooth with no shots! Good things all day, I guess. I also got my mom a Xmas gift...thank goodness...she is the hardest person in the world to buy for!! Also got done with DD today too....Now I just have to get something for CB and I will be completely done...but you know how hard those transgender/transvestites are to buy for. Maybe a pair of silk stockings will do the trick!!

I don't have a ton of time for personals....CB will be here any time now so any of you who want to come on down to roast marshmallows and make s'mores...we'll get started in a little bit!

Traci...
What a great referral! How wonderful...We'll see how things work out with the client who likes to buy their body instead of actually work for it....but it is great that your current client recommended you...and that her new shape attracted notice! Good luck at the fete this evening. Too bad there is no alcohol, or I would tell you to hide in the corner with a glass of wine! Maybe you will have to show your support for BIL's illness?? Oh, by the way, you skinny thing, what did you decide to wear??

Sandra...
I hate to say that my mind went straight to the gutter when I read "Go kitty, go"!!! MEOW!! Good gracious...what is this coming to?? I appreciate your and Brad's consideration for those of us who have chose an alternate lifestyle. We can definitely roast marshmallows when you guys are here!! We are on about an acre of land...and it's really great outside here in the spring. No telling where our conversations will run after a couple of glasses wine an a few marshmallows! Glad you are taking advantage of that 30 minutes...I know you didn't do kenpo today...but what did you do? Oh...SB and Shiva...how as that?? Thanks for the brownie recipe, too...I am definitely starting my holiday baking next week!! I may even do a couple of things on Sunday for teachers next week.

Tracy...
Of course, everyone at the dentist office asked me how I chipped my tooth...Could I have sounded any more adolescent?? Where are you guys going hiking on vacation?? I am sure I could not handle that kind of altitude!

Laurie...
You had no idea what you were getting into this morning when you logged on did you?? Nice you got to have lunch with your hubby...even if you had to drive in the mess! Your poor DD's...they are used to all the modern conveniences! A dishtowel? What is that for?? Hope Plyo goes well for you this evening!

Jeanette...
I am going to think about the airport question and get that answered tomorrow for everyone. I know you enjoyed SA this morning...I bet you will be excited to see the Garage boys this evening!! I think we have made a plan to roast marshmallows this spring when you guys come....since you are going to be busy tonight! LOL about DH and the keys...poor guy! I probably won't get the results on kitty until Friday or Monday. Thanks for asking.

~~~~~OKAY....STOP THE PRESSES...I JUST GOT ANOTHER "L" WORD ON THE PHONE!!! I may be headed to Vegas after all...LOL!~~~~~~~~~~~
Carol...
Sorry the Petal House was hard to find...Who knew?? At least you'll be able to get it for DD's bday in March...When is her birthday? My DD was born on March 16. So glad you are feeling better...Extra rest is always a good thing when you are feeling yucky. I am a HUGE believer in the healing powers of naps.
Nicole...
I guess you are still in the middle of the GB nightmare. Hope you are starting to see your way through the frosting and sugar plum fairies!
Teddygirl...
Have a great afternoon off!
I am sure I have missed someone but the L word has thrown me out of kilter! I had better go and center myself a bit before he gets here!! Happy evening to all! I am going to be bad and have pizza and s'mores and beer for dinner. I don't think any of that is on the X eating program!
DRUM ROLL YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debra - Did I read correctly? The L word again!? That confirms that it wasn't just a slip of the tongue. Is there a difference between a phone L and an in person L? Maybe once the in person L happens we can plan our trip around the wedding in Vegas and all of the Xers will be in the chapel to cheer you on! Maybe you shouldn't be drinking out of a bottle tonight or anymore. You wouldn't want to have to get the tooth fixed again before the big L.
Should I start to plan my wardrobe? Traci, surely you will have to get some new duds for the occasion! By then it will be totally confirmed that you are now another size smaller.
OK, a thought just went through my mind. Would CB be mortified if he knew you were reporting to the group? Would he ever check the thread?
Sandra - The brownies sound amazing. I looked at the calorie count and thought how could that be? Then again, who really eats a 1x2 square? We can dream can't we?
Well I struggled through 4ds KB and legs. I was able to keep up with most of the same weights, but it wasn't easy after yesterday's run. No yoga; between the workout and sleep deprivation I just wasn't feeling the love.
I have to finish dinner so everyone can eat. I am running out of ideas. I cook almost every night of the week.
Hi ladies,
Tonite I had a Garage Boys spin session. There were 7 of us in the garage. It was a 1 hour Spinerval "Big Gear Challenge" or something like that. Good leg workout for me and my heart rate got up too. I got home, visited with DH and then got online. In my other checkin, one of the ladies wondered if I did Ab Ripper X today. I'd completely forgotten about it, so of course, I had to get it out and do it before I could log on here. Big workout day for me, plus I got in a 25 minute walk, listening to my Classic Soft Rock Hits music on my mp3 player. Takes me back, ladies.
Carol, so glad to hear you are feeling better now. Sorry about your HRM dying. What kind do you have? I have a Polar M something, that doesn't work at all near the TV or electric lines. I used that one tonite during the spin session as the bikes are far enough away from the TV. I also have a Timex digital one that works well near the TV. How many calories do you burn in C&B? Just curious. Don't you hate the cost to repair appliances? I had a relay go out in the fridge a while back. He charged me $90 ($20 part I think) so I guess I got off pretty good. Just took him a second to fix. Hope your throat improves by tomorrow. I used to sing in a 5 person (2 men, 3 women) acapella group. Loved it, but when I had a cold, it sure messed my voice up. No hiding in an acapella group for sure.
Traci, I bookmarked Wendy's blog. Wonder what's up with no news? Hope she is okay. Did she say something about coming back early? Guess I missed that. Thank you for your great email to me today. You are such a sweetie. I'm going to start with the books and do some learning. Hope you enjoyed your dinner party tonight. I hate having to mingle with people that I don't know. So much work. How is your BIL feeling today?
Laurie, sorry about your dishwasher. Okay no more broken appliances this holiday season!!! We never ever had a dishwasher growing up. Mom claims that she had 5 of them (all of us kids, hardee har har, never was funny when she told it either). These men are so stubborn, aren't they? It's a power thing, I tell you. They just don't like to admit we are right. What's so hard about that? I let my DH know when he's right, I don't have a problem with it. But them? Men!!! Hope your DH got some good meds to knock the sinus infection. I hear they are nasty. How nice that you got to go to lunch with your DH. I love going for breakfast with mine. Maybe this weekend we can... Glad your DH found his keys. My DH sets them down in various places, garage, counter, table. I tease him that he can hide the Easter eggs for the grandkids next year because he can't remember where he puts things. I almost ALWAYS put my keys in my purse once I'm done using them. However, this year, I locked them twice in the car, so I guess I can't say never. Think we are going to get some snow the latter part of next week. About time. My sister and BIL are driving up here on Christmas Day from southern Calif. I want the roads to be clear for them. They will have to carry chains as it's required now to have them on the mtn. passes.
Latrese, did you get some Christmas shopping in tonite. I've got to get serious and make a list as I have a few people that I haven't gotten anything for yet. What cardio did you pick?
Tracy, that's cool about the goal of climbing a 14,000' peak. What state will you do that one in? How is DS's girlfriend doing with her weight loss? Is she trying?
Debra, hope you are saving some marshmallows for me. Graham crackers and Hershey's too? I can't be satisfied with just a simple roasted marshmallow you know. Glad the dentist visit wasn't too traumatic. I used to never fear the dentist, but have been zinged a time or two and now I'm one of those who has her hands clenched in her lap, trying to relax. However, once they zing me, I get really mad. Yes, I wonder where our other ladies have gone. Hope they come back, but I understand how time consuming posting personals can be. I mean, I should be decorating for Christmas and instead, prefer to sit here and type. OOOOhhh, you got the brownie recipe? I haven't read down far enough. The Garage Boys were in a pretty good mood tonite. They had run up hills on foot before doing their spin session. I decided to pass that up as it's 20 some degrees outside. I wanted to conserve my energy for the bike instead. Those guys are hardcore cyclists, but they did pretty well racing this year. I just wish there were more lady riders around here. I kept my bike set up on a trainer there so will ride every Wednesday night I think. Another "L" word!!! Are you going to hide your head (ostrich style), or tell him the "L" word back? Oh, the dating scene. I barely remember it, it's been so long ago. Enjoy that pizza tonite, have a slice for me, okay? Don't chip another tooth on a beer bottle, you crazy thing!
Sandra, yep, I'm back in the Garage on Wednesday night with the fellas. It was a good workout. They spin 3 nights a week in this cold weather, but once is enough for me, thank you very much. I just printed out the brownies, yummy! If only I could eat just a 1"X2" square. In my dreams. Think I will make it for one of the Christmas desserts. While I was growing up, there were many fights amongst us kids, lots of them while doing chores and dishes. Think that's why when family comes over to eat dinner, I never let them do the dishes afterwards. I hated doing them as a kid so it's my way of rebelling. Funny thing about those keys, I looked and looked for them too, don't know how I missed them on the deck. It's really kind of wierd.
Must do a little more reading before bedtime,
Jeanette
Sorry girls, I'm stuck in the gb trenches:p I hope to be out soon. We built all of the walls but now we have to cover it with pirouline cookies to look like a log cabin. It measures 18 x 27 and is about 18" tall. Lots of work still to do but DH is excited.
Woke up to a sick son. He has a fever and a cough. I guess quite a few kids at school have it because the teacher knew what symptoms he had before I even said it. I hope to be back to normal tomorrow. I feel like I keep saying that.
Since Traci is busy the 26-30 of March or so, how about the weekend before that? The weekend of the 21st- 24th or so?
Traci-X, I'm so glad you have been getting such rave reviews from your clients! That must make you feel good. I know business will pick up a lot after the holidays. I'm with Debra on your loose pants, I'm just crying tears for you;)
Debra, Oh my, the "L" word? I remember the first time I said that to my DH he said "thanks". I convinced him though:D Is it really cold there in March? I sure hope we can make this work!
Carol, Glad you're on the mend. Being sick sure outs a wrench in things:( Now you'll really be able to bring it:D
Jeanette, You do keep busy with all of your extracurricular activities don't you? Glad you're still able to ride even in the cold garage. A walk too? You are good! Hope you are seeing results from ARX. I always did but my back doesn't like it:(
Tracy, How nice to have a hike to motivate you towards your fitness goals. I'm glad your DS is there with you. Now he has to help you work on your other DS and DH:) Sounds like tomorrow may be a yoga only day. Take it easy:)
Sandra, Oh no, more recipes;) I have to print them out and hide them until Christmas. I can share them with others and not devour them all by myself:p I mentioned to my friend about taking the kids to Michael's and she said that sounded fun. Thanks for the idea!
Teddygirl, We would all love to see you too! I'm glad you are plugging along with P90X! Are you just loving it?
Laurie, I feel like we should enter this into a contest somewhere. It has really gotten big! It's fun but I've gone through 10 lbs. of flour, 4 cups of Crisco and 3 jars of molasses! It's definitely not for the faint of heart:) Keep warm!
I've got to go to bed now. I sure hope DS is better tomorrow and ready for school. I hate to have them miss. My oldest has missed one day of school in the four years he's been there. I usually luck out and they get sick on the weekends or during break.
See you tomorrow,
Nicole
Bring it!!!
