Today will be a run after work. Not sure of the distance right now....

Ang: ARX has a dread factor for me too. It's KILLER! Perhaps that why I keep putting off doing an X rotation!:p Sorry the results are taking so long. That's just the worst! No worries though as they will come up with NOTHING!!!:)

Good Morning !

Up and at 'em today - I do think it was a pulled muscle down the left side of my abs. :( At least my belly feels better and I made it through PlyoX with little discomfort. Wow - that is a killer when you do the whole thing. Put my HRM on to see how it was - whew ! I stayed between 142 - 162 which is like level 3 & 4 for CC ! Comparable to an hour of running for me.

LOL Angie - when I read Wendy's reply to you I figured you had posted last night after me !:D

BBL to catch up. I'm with you Jen - have month end to do today. Not nearly as bad for me since I'm HR/PR and only do the JE's for payroll and benefits - I get to leave the "books" to the Accounting dept ! :p

Morning Ladies!

So have a few DOMS in my calves from the heavy legs in the gym .. and a little into my butt!! :) My mother so kindly told me I had lost too much weight in my butt and legs yesterday :confused: .. geee thanks mom!!! So guess I will be hitting the weights a little more heavy on the lower body! Last night I changed and did super step cardio .. 60 minutes of total sweatfest .. all the CABS comsumed came flowing outta me!! :D It felt great!! Packed class . . got kinda hot and I left dripping sweat and red faced!! :eek:

Wendy .. hope the knee is better today!! so what is the date of the mara again?? Get DH to take some pics!! :)

Jacque - PlyoX in the a.m. .. WOW .. kudos to you for conquering that one early!! :eek: Hope the Ab pull is better .. I had my appendix out a couple of years ago . and some scar tissue removed from my abdomen and I tend to pull my abs a bit on that side all the time .. have to really watch the contractions sometimes!!

Jen - doncha love core synergy .. that is my all time favorite X w/o!!! hits all the muscles you didn't even know you had (or forgot about) .. LoL!

so today I have a training class I have got to go to :mad: dang this work thing sure does interfere w/my exercising!! LOL So I am gonna miss the X today .. will only have time for my class .. so gonna tackle everything at once .. 4 step - plyo - pushup - core - upper and lower body torture!! {{ insert way evil grin }}

Morning girls

Needless to say I have nervous energy to burn off this morning so I did PlyoX early. Even though that kicked my butt, I still have the nervous energy goin' on.:confused: I don't like the fact that my results are taking longer than expected to come back. It's driving me crazy....thinking that they found something and have to "re-test". I WILL be calling them again at the end of the day if I don't hear something by 3 or so.

It's overcast and rainy here today. It's definitely a good day for doing some projects, but I'm not sure I'm going to do that or just fiddle around today. I really should DO something, but my mind just isn't into it.

Wendy - I do so hope you are right. We shall see....
Hope you are having better weather than I am for that run and hopefully it will be "knee-pain" free for you as well.

Jacque - So I went to amazon to check out that book and there are overwhelming positive comments about it - ENABLER!:eek: Do you have the cookbook too??
Where's a good "cheap" place to buy flaxseed or do you use the oil? Also where do you get your pure cranberry juice?
Glad I had a partner in PlyoX today.:) It always makes me sweat buckets.
I'm used to bringing up the rear. If I'm working I usually don't have a chance to get on the puter when I get home and still get all my chores done, so I just get everything done first, then relax on the couch with the laptop.:D

Laura - I always feel like I need a sweatfest if I have been naughty on the weekend.
It sounds like an X-like workout you have planned. Tony would be proud.

Laura - LOL at your mom ! Did she mean you need to add more muscle? I love having leg DOMS ! Super step cardio sounds fun. I am misisng my Cathe workouts these days. Wish I had extra time so I could do doubles? Did I just say that? :rolleyes: And after having 3 C sections and then tearing my ab scar tissue, I too get a horrible tightening sometimes on my left side just when bending over to tie my shoes? So weird, but oh well. I am enjoying the AM workouts and am getting used to the schedule. Not usually short on energy - then I know I am gonna get it done. I'm horrible after work sometimes - find too many things to do and, even worse, eat ! :eek: Not sure if I feel sorry for your class tonite or want to join you ! It does sound like a great workout you are planning.

Angie - Woo hoo - a plyo partner this AM, huh? Great workout for being so basic, huh? You must think positive and find something to occupy your mind. Put on some headphones and start cleaning lady ! Before you know it the day will be over !

For Fat Flush I did not get the cookbook - I eat pretty basic foods except we grill and sometimes I play with marinades and spices so never at a loss. I also like to just grab my fav ingredients and throw stuff together. Tuna, celery, cucs, red onions, tomatos and toss for a great protein/veggie snack. Or cottage cheese, tomatos, red onions & cucs for a morning snack. Eat lots of salads in the summer and soups in the winter.

The book has some recipes if I am not mistaken, but what I liked is it is just basic foods and you use some of the metabolic spices and ingredients to give you the flavor. Such as the dressing which is flax oil and apple cider vinegar. I liked that but also added granulated garlic and then shook it all together. Great on a quickie salad.

As far as the ingredients I purchased, not a real organic person here so I just buy Bob's Red Mill ground flaxseed at the grocery store. The flax oil I did find at Costco, but have also seen it at Vitamin World or you could find at a health food type store too. The cranberry juice - at first I made my own while I scouted out places to find it. Most times it is "laced" with apple and grape juice in a coctail form. Finally found pure cranberry from concentrate at Walmart for a decent price as the local grocery store is about $7-8. Now Wally world stopped carrying it so I made a trip to my local Trader Joe's and they only had pure cranberry juice for $5+. I cut it with half water and it is still pretty strong but gives me some good value.

Send me any more questions. Like I said, it really helped me be healthier with all the info and ideas on eating better. I am not really strict and still don't eat 100% clean, but do love good for me foods. People always think I am on a diet, but the healthier you eat, the less you body craves things that are not so healthy. Then occasionally you splurge.

Now I must admit my entire last week was a splurge and I think that is part of my abdominal issues. Think I need to get back to cleaner eating. I'm working on digging in my heals today !:p

So Shirl? Where are you? Don'tcha want 1001 ! :D

I ran 3.5 miles with Grace after work today.

Gotta get the little guy up for a nap and then do some cleaning up around here. Joey's teachers are coming over at 5 for a visit and then it's off to my mom's for dinner tonight!

I don't know if I'll get back here tonight so have a great rest of the day girls!:)

Hey again girls

I can breathe again!!!!:D:):D I couldn't take the waiting anymore so I called the office at 2. The receptionist said my results were in but she couldn't give them to me and needed the doc to sign off first. 25 very looooooooong minutes later, the nurse called and told me it was a fibroadenoma, which is a benign and very common occurance. I only need to do the annual mamograms and nothing else. Whew! When the results took longer than expected, when they didn't call me first thing this morning (like they said they would), and when they didn't call right back.....well.....let's just say my mind went wild.:mad::rolleyes: I have a new appreciation for those folks who have to go thru this.....and I only got a small taste of it. I can't tell you what a load off this is.:cool:

Wendy - Have fun at your mom's tonight. I don't have anything planned for dinner so can I come too??:p

Jacque - Oh, I guess I wasn't thinking I would find flaxseed at the grocery store. We don't have a TJ anywhere near us.:( Really, the only thing I have to choose from is our local grocery store, walmart, or K-mart. My parents go downstate every couple of weeks so I send them to Sams to pick up my protein powder when I need it.
What do you put the flaxseed on? Does it taste nasty? What about the oil? Which do you prefer?
I looked up the cookbook comments on amazon too, and the comments were not very stellar. I guess I won't bother with that. I still have Clean Eating and haven't read thru it at all. Maybe I would be better off just using that.
I don't buy organic either. I have a hard time justifying the cost, especially right now when we have lots of fresh garden veges to choose from.
I have a long way to go to be a clean eater. I pack a tuna/chicken sandwich for lunch along with 2 fruits and 2 veges and try to eat yougurt, string cheese, and maybe bran cereal for my 3-4pm munchie time and then dinner is usually a free-for-all. At 3 or 4 o'clock I am just ravenous and the bran cereal with raisins added in seems to be the only thing that fills me up. I know I probably shouldn't eat that much (esp. carb rich) before working out, but like I said......I'm ravenous at that time of day.:(

I always thought plyoX was a tough workout. Still do! I burn just as much on that as I do IMAX3. It's sooooo good when it's over. LOL!

SEEEEEEE .. positive vibes .. I know what the waiting is like .. think the nurses scare you worst than anything!!! I am so glad for you .. now you can relax .. and know you are a-ok!! :D

Training class was actually productive ..:eek: ... did I just say that?? but pleasantly surprised I learned a good bit on a new program we have had for about 3 weeks now .. now I can go at it w/confidence I am not totally screwing things up! :confused:

Had a salad and some bread for lunch .. MMM MMM MMM ... the salad was very clean .. but the bread had some awesome butter and cheese on it .. :eek: OMG .. but it was sooooooo good!

I am ready for tonight's power torture class .. LOL!!! Bring it on!! I think Tony would be pleased!! ;)

Oh ..and Jacque .. Mom meant I have really lost my @$$ and my legs are too skinny .. LOL .. she's kinda blunt that way .. .I think I have lost muscle (I measured and I have lost about 1 and 1/4 inches from my hips - and dont need too.. my hips are small) .. I think the 2 week bug is the cause of it .. when I loose weight I lose from my lower body first ?? blame it on my Dad and his lanky body .. my body is really a ruler shaped .. but thick b/c of muscle (and some CAB remnant fat .. lol) I wish I could pick where the weight would come off .. LOL ..but alas .. we are cursed for it to come off of the easiest leanest places first .. :( ... I had gotten away from heavy lifting so that is some of it .. but six pounds is a lot for me .. my weight never fluctuates .. so now that the flu bug is gone and I am back to lifting heavy maybe the lower body will respond accordingly!! :)

Anywho ... better get back to the stack of paperwork .. have fun chicadees!! BBL if I can to see what everyone is up to!! Doing the happy dance for Miss Angie!!!

Re: the flaxseed - I just put a TB in my coffee cup along with my cran/water and stir. Doesn't bother me, but some don't like it. Not really any flavor, just similar to a ground grain. Others put in their oatmeal or in protein shakes or smoothies, some sprinkle on their cereal or salads, some put it in protein bars, etc. I like the oil, is kinda nutty flavored - I really enjoyed making the cider vinegar/flax oil dressing (added garlic 'cuz it's my fav spice!) and also drizzled just plain on my healthy grain toast in the AM, Yum ! You just have to remember not to heat it up, otherwise you can use on/in anything that normally uses canola or olive oil at a cool temp. (You should refrigerate after opening).

I think the Clean Eating recipes would be perfect! Great nutrition in most of them - some give you a little "cheat" which helps me sometimes from a BIG "cheat". :p

Your eating habits sound very similar to mine - I do very well when at work because I have my pre-planned food. Then at home I need to stay outta the kitchen or, if I can be good, grab something healthy. I adore PB so will put it on some pretzel chips or have pretzel chips with cheese. Or if being really good then I'll use celery instead of pretzel chips :rolleyes:. Course then there are the days when the potato chips are just "IT". Dinner is usually pretty good - DH grills and I usually only do veggies. Yum and very clean !

You don't have too far to go, just maybe try to have easy things ready at your fingertips. It helps if you are feeling the willpower - if not - I head for the computer to have fun with all the Catheites !

Laura - Good to hear training was productive - sounds like you will save time in the future too! Aha ! I get what you were talking about re:your mom's comment. Remember now you said you'd lost weight. Wonder if loads of squats will help your bootie fill out ! :eek: Maybe walking lunges ! :rolleyes: Or just maybe . . . a bottle of CAB ! :p
