Hi Girls.

So DH's friends didn't show up until it was basically time for DS to go to bed. I was not happy. That being said, he didn't get to bed until 10pm. He'd better not be cranky because of it. If he is he'll be DH's problem! :p

Ended up inviting the inlaws over for dinner this afternoon. This means I have a long to-do list for today including a work out. I hope I can get it all done without freaking out!

Well, it's almost 8am and the gym daycare opens in 10 minutes. I promised DS he could come with me so perhaps I should just go right now and get it done. I want to do get a couple exercises from CTX UB done as well but if I run and then don't have time for CTX I won't feel too badly about it.

I'll be back later to see what's going on!:)

Hi ladies,

I was at my nephews final adoption hearing yesterday for his second adpopted child. He and his wife adopted a little girl about 2 years ago and now that have a little boy. Angela was 6yrs old when she came into our family and now we have Sakeia (pronounced suh-key-a) who is 4yrs. Each of the kids actually lived with my nephew and his wife for almost a year before the adoption was final. They had a big to-do going on at the courthouse since it was National Adoption Day yesterday. I had a great time visiting with my Brother, SIL and another of my nieces.

At any rate, I did not work out yesterday. I've had some kind of stomach bug for the past few days. I need to get my butt in gear and do something today. I'm a little behind on the rotation and will be changing it up a bit. I want to do a heavy leg workout at the rec ctr tomorrow so today will be PS Back & Biceps, some kind of cardio and abs. My ext has been calling my name lately so I think a session with Sean would fit the bill perfectly.

Wendy-what rotation are you following??? Feel better soon!

Jacque-we've had sunny weather here in CO too. It's actually supposed to be in the 60's this week. Thanks for sending it our way!!!

Shirl-feel better soon too!

Angie-I haven't been impressed with the shopping lately either. I did use a 20% coupon at Kohl's to get Zach some much needed clothes and of course some clothes for my grandbaby girls. I've only bought 1 Christmas gift so far which is terrible for me. Have fun redecorating your room. I have some pretty big remodeling plans for our house (if we ever have the money).

Jen-I didn't know you were in Mass. DH has an aunt & uncle that live there. I've only been there once and it was beautiful. How is the family adjusting to the new dog?

Laura-sorry DH is still feeling under the weather. It seems to be a common theme in our thread. We need to kick it and soon.

Happy day ladies !

I got all the carpets cleaned and hope they completely finishing drying today - think the weather will help - I'll open all the windows again today and keep the fans going. It got so cool so fast yesterday I turned the heater on last night to speed the drying process !:p But the day was beautiful - and I was inside ! Oh well, I love seeing less dirt on the carpets. With the dog who lays in the dirt and passes it to the carpet, and DH who is in underground construction and refuses to remove his shoes in the house, it is a never ending battle I will always face. Need to hang those valances, make my new color coordinating pillows and then the living room will be completely finished. Then the dog needs a haircut and bath ! Hoping to get to some painting too before DH starts putting in the new doors and jams.

Xmas shopping for me has been greatly reduced this year !:D Gave the kids some of the Sharks tix for Xmas and both sides for nieces and nephews are to the point where I don't have to buy for them any more. 20 less gifts for me ! Woo hoo. Will pick up a few things for my kids and grandson and DH. Will have to figure out a couple others and then I am done. Thus a little more $ than I expected to help with the updating the house. At 30 yrs old it is in need of a facelift. I'm pretty handy and DH is too so we can tackle a little at a time.

For my workout it is supposed to be Kick Max, but I still have a tight upper hammie from a couple of months ago. It popped just over a month ago while doing kickboxing and I still have to be very careful - I can't seem to get it to stretch out much so have to modify. The Sharks are playing at 4 so I am thinking a good TM run with some hills thrown in while watching the game will be perfect !:p

Wendy - have a fun day - sounds very productive too. Hope the workout went well and DS takes a L O N G nap today for you to prep for your company! Did your meds kick in yet?

Diana - congrats on the adoption. I love having little ones around and can't wait for the 2nd granchild this spring. DH's family is mostly in town and there are 8 nieces and nephews and one great nephew. Love the family get togethers. In fact, it will be at my house for Xmas and there are usually 30+ so part of the reason I am "whipping" through the redecorating as fast as I can.

Glad you are having sun there too. It is nice, but we do need some rain too. I think the slower transition of a weather change has kept most of the "bugs" away for us here.

Angie - you are correct that I am in No. Calif. and the fires are far away. The first one in Montecito is just south of where I grew up, Santa Barbara though and I know the area well. In fact, got married there the first time. It is a beautiful area with many small canyons heading up to the hills. Sparse with loads of trees and shrubs for fuel. Many prominent actors own 2nd homes there since it is only an hour and a half from Hollywood. Can't believe the winds ! But they are very common at this time of the year. Sad.

Laura, Jen, Shirl - hope your weekends are going well and everyone is healing.

Should BBL to check on y'all.

Fly-by for me. Went to the gym and ran with Grace to Itread 26/30. Great work out. I averaged a 10 min mile so I'm happy. :) I hit the foodstore on the way home and now I have to start cleaning but gotta eat lunch first! I have my priorities and FOOD comes before ANYTHING!:p

BBL when I need a break from cleaning!

Toodles peeps!:)

Hey Girls.

Taking a much needed break. I've been feeling like dog poop for a while now....:( I got alot of cleaning done. Only a little more to do thank goodness and then it'll be time to put together the ziti. I'm happy we are having a meal that does not require alot of attention while it is cooking. I hope I have time to rest before the inlaws get here. I'm starting to wonder why I opened my mouth and suggested this for today. I don't mind doing it normally but feeling the way I do it's just like UGH, I just want to go lay down. Oh well. Hopefully once they show up, they'll get my mind off it. I'm jealous of DS as he's napping right now!:p

Alrighty, I guess that's enough complaining outta me for one post. Let me get on to personals before I run outta time. :)

Jacque: I need my carpets cleaned in the worst way but at the same time, we plan on having them replaced so why bother, right? :p Your household sounds like mine with the dirty dog and the dirty construction worker DH! LOL My DH will take his boots off in the house but the dog can't take his paws off so I still get dirt tracked around the place. Last night it felt like my meds were kicking in but right now...not so much. Oh well, perhaps I shouldn't have run this morning but after yesterday I needed to do SOMETHING!!!

Diana: How nice that your nephew adopted 2 children. It's a long and tough process. Kudos to them for sticking through it 2 times! Are they adopting by choice or because having thier own is not an option? (if too personal, you don't have to answer that.) Sorry you are still feeling the affects of the stomach bug. Some nasty stuff is floating around lately. Hopefully you'll be back up to snuff soon. I am in the last week of FF's 2008 Leg Blast Rotation and will soon be starting her 2007 Get Ready For Summer one. :)

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend.

I'll be back later if I have time before everyone gets here!

Hello girlies

I procrastinated as long as I could yesterday but finally did CC#6 with Candace. It was a good workout and I have definitely noticed a decrease in cardio stamina due to the X. But, I can't complain about the guns.:D

Thankfully I feel back to 100%. Yeah!! Passing those feel good vibes to my Xer buddies. Today is my scheduled rest day and I'm gladly taking it!! I did finally clean the basement and did a couple of other chores that I have been putting off. I've also been online shopping for my sis. We only spend $20 on each other so we try to get a good bargain....it's kind of a competition to see who can get the coolest stuff for the least amount of money. I think I'm gonna get her a bare minerals starter kit so I have been on ebay searching.....holy cow do they ever have a ton of stuff there.

Last night I took my mom, Cam and MIL to a chili dinner and raffle. I won an avon makeup kit.:D Cam won't let me use it since he wants to give it to me for X-mas. Ummmmm - OK. *lol* It was nice to see MIL wandering around and talking with people. I was glad we went, although the chili, hot dog, and cake probably wasn't the healthiest meal I've ever had.

Wendy - I sure hope you are feelin' better this afternoon. You should take an extra rest day and let your body recover. I know how you hate to do that, but..........
Hey, are you still watching lipstick jungle? It looks like it got moved to Friday night. I wish they would have left it where it was.

Diana - It sure sounds like you had some nice family time yesterday.:) What great news!
Hope the stomach bug lets up and you can enjoy some time on the EXT with Sean.
We have a major remodeling project planned for next spring. I couldn't decide on what I wanted for the outside shakes, siding and windows, so I pushed it back to next year. I loathe making those kinds of decisions. But, I want to make sure it is done right this time b/c we probably won't be doing it again! We already have the money put aside for it but I wince at the price of home remodeling projects.

Jacque - Wow! You sure did have a productive weekend. It's like pulling teeth for me to get my DH to do household projects. Ug! I'm jealous that you and your DH work so well together on that kind of stuff.
I don't shop for that many people for X-mas either. It just became too much of a hassle a few years back and I called people and said "hey, how about we NOT buy for each other." *lol* Everyone was all for it. It's not just the cost, but the stress of trying to find a gift that people want. I'm just not that creative with finding that "perfect gift".
Oh yea - a hockey game today.:D Do enjoy!! I think I'm gonna have a beer or two with the race today. I have to go up north to meet DH and pick up DS in a couple of hours, but my mom is going too b/c we are meeting at a pizzeria for dinner. So, I think I'll have mom drive so I can had a CAB or two with my last race.

Have a super Sunday girls!

Angie

Hey Ladies,

Sean sure left me sweaty today. I did PP after PS B&B, and abs.

I just finished dinner-homemade green chile and burritos. The green chile is a bit on the hot side. I used some roasted chili's DH picked up at a road side market. Delicious!!

I think Jerod and I may be heading out to a movie this evening, Changeling. I don't think Jerod is very interested but I sure am.

Wendy-My nephew adopted by choice. So far their birth control is working great. There are so many kids who need families and both of their kids came from the foster system. Since they didn't care about having an infant or the childs race it didn't really take that long. Angela is hispanic and Sakeia is african-american. It actually works out great since my nephews wife is part Indian and has dark hair, eyes and skin. The kids actually look like they belong to them.

Angie-Nice to see you!! Hope you have a nice dinner out. I wish I could get SIL to not exchange gifts, but she won't give it up. I wish I had the money for the remodel, but it will be about 50K and we don't want to take out that kind of loan right now. I want to tear down a wall between my kitchen and front living room (formal) and re-do the entire kitchen with a large island etc. Also want to extend the bedrooms over the 3rd car garage and move the laundry from the basement up there. This would make all the bedrooms bigger-most importantly, mine! Then there's updating all the 3 bathrooms and finishing the basement (it needs a bathroom).

Jerod and I are heading out to the movie.
