Good morning ladies!
Today was Legs & Back, and AbX for me today. Loved the leg workout. I love that this has so much variety to it. I feel like I really brought it throughout the workout, though I struggled a bit in AbX. I did make it to 50 for the mason twists WOOHOO! I felt like Legs & Back was a cardio workout for me at times so that's good. Afterwards, I made a drink of 1 scoop of whey protein, 1/2 banana, 8 oz. of fat free milk and a dab of peanut butter. Does this constitute a recovery drink or do I need to do something different? I don't know about you ladies, but this is my first week and I'm already feeling leaner, not retaining water. Love it so far, but I know that it will get harder. I just love it because it is definitely different than the workouts I was doing. My body had adapted so well to those.
Deb (Fox2), I have Kenpo tomorrow. Hope I like it as I'm not real big on kickboxing, but don't detest it. I'm looking forward to doing it. Hope your knee starts feeling better.
Traci, glad you are better today. A rest is doing you good. Way to go on the body fat going down. That's one of my goals with this program. I have a Tanita bodyfat scale and I've never seen it below 25% for me. I'm hoping to have it drop a few % by the time I am done. Traci, I haven't done a lot of yoga, but I own a few: Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness, Shiva Rhea's Yoga Shakti, some Brian Kest (I'm thinking is would be a good sub on some days) and a few others. I'm not all that flexible, probably about average. I really have type hip flexors and have a hard time getting my legs straight for moves where you are supposed to keep them straight. I just have had a hard time making the time for yoga, though I know I should. I've just been so much into "more is better" of the cardio and weights. I'm thinking that's been wrong, though I've heard it over and over. I love this muscle confusion thing.
X- I thought about waiting until January to start, what with Christmas and all, but then again, I'm thinking doing this will help motivate me to stay away from the cookies this season. Keep checking back.
Tracy, wow, Phase 2 gets harder? Gulp. I agree, I think Bryan Kest would be a good substitute for YogaX. I remember some parts of one of my tapes where my legs were just shaking trying to hold onto "airplane" or something.
Buffy, hope Legs & Back is as good for you as it was for me. I really did enjoy it. Have you done it before? Where are you in P90X time wise?
Lea, AbX was harder for me today too. Wonder why? Maybe the YogaX yesterday? Enjoy your rest day and sleeping in on Sunday. Usually I do a group bike ride on Sundays but looks like we may have snow so probably no ride.
Sandra, Legs & Back today too? Are you on the first week like me? Hope you love the workout like I did.
Laurie, wow you are using awesome weights. I've never done 15# for shoulders. I'm always afraid of hurting them. Being too careful for me probably has held me back at times. I'm not making cookies today, but am making an apple cake for my Mom's birthday party tomorrow. I love to bake but can't keep anything around the house.
Got to run, have lots of things to do today.
