WW's AUGUST: Week of Aug. 8th

Stacy

Cathlete
This week someone at work is on vacation, so my usual busy week just got busier! I'm already a bit stressed about fitting in workouts, so I decided that since my diet hasnt been stellar for quite some time, I'm going to make it my goal to refocus on that this week and to stay within my points EVERY DAY (except my one cheat meal I grant myself each week!) I'm going to consider ANY workout I have time for this week a bonus!

Off to work....

Good Morning.

This morning's work out was the BR work out from July 5th called Teenage Dream (ugh-corny name). It was core/ab focused with a cardio kick at the end-about 20-25 mins long. I also did GS Triceps and my lats/pecs are on fire from GS Chest which I did y'day.

Stacy:: Maybe you should try pre-planning your meals on your day off for the upcoming week since you are so tight on time when you are working. This way you know exactly what you'll be eating and when so you can just pack it and go w/o having to think about it.

Wiggie:: Nice work outs this weekend! Glad your DH is recuperating well!!!!

Jody:: Thanks for the insight regarding keeping the weight off. I usually regret it if my "cheats" are too big but some how that doesn't stop them from happening. ;) The only big cheats I never regret are my weekend jaunts to the casinos. That's my relax/unwind/play time and I take full advantage with no guilt whatsoever! :)

Good morning everyone. This morning I did CLX burn circuit 1 and CLX extreme abs. Thanks Wendy I think I will do abs 3 to 4 times a week. My abs are so week that I had to modify. Yesterday I went to my in laws and didn't go crazy on the food. They had a big party. I even didn't have cake which I normally do.

I get weigh in tonight at WW meeting. I feel like I've gain weight for some reason. I don't know if its the weight training. I haven't weight train in about 7 months. I know muscles weighs more then fat. I will check in later tonight to let you know good news or bad.

Barb. If your weight is up a bit don't freak out right away. If you've recently begun a new weight training program especially after a hiatus from weights, surely it's only water and should disappate over a couple weeks time.

I came back to report that I did gain 1 lb. UGH. I know it has to be muscle weight. I hope. Maybe next week I will show a loss.

Hey everyone.

Bummer to gain, Barb. Probably meaningless, but still feels discouraging. Check out the mirror, chances are your reflection shows a more toned you. I think that my barely 7 pounds loss since 6/30 is more appreciable there.

Still struggling to stay in PP range. Do you count activity points?

Got motivated enough to do 4DS Legs, Abs from KB (kinda different than other Cathe core's I've done) and quick short run. Played around with idea of doing a Body Rock but it didn't manifest. : P

Hey, Wendy, what do you think of Zuzanna's deep squat style vs don't take but past your knees? I'm OK with it. I read once that the Don't Go Past Your Knees/90 degree Angle law didn't really have any basis that it could be bad for you. Either way, I am flexible enough to do it w/o feeling like it is going to hurt anything.

Stay Sane, Stacy and hang in there. Good idea w/ the meal planning, too Wendy.

Too soon to get discouraged Barb. Blow it off. See what happens over the next couple weeks before you freak out. If you see a consistent gain over a couple weeks time THEN think about what needs to be done. I will not tell you it's impossible that you are really gaining weight coz I REALLY GAINED WEIGHT the first time I did STS despite what everyone else told me about it being water, etc. Not trying to scare you but rather being realistic. Keep an eye on it and if after a couple of weeks you still aren't happy then do something about it! :) IMO, even better-weigh yourself at home every morning and use that. Forget WW's weekly evening weigh in. I wouldn't go by that personally. Too many factors that can vary there. For me, daily am weighing is key to knowing if there is real weight gain/loss going on or something else.

Okay, I've babbled long enough...Gotta go get dinner together. :)

Hello All!!
I totally agree with Wendy, I weigh less first thing in the morning, sometimes in the evening I weigh almost 3 pounds more. I didn't lose the week I started STS, so I decided I'll start it again when I get closer to the weight I want to be.

My workout today was HIIT 25 & Abs 10 from Turbo fire. My eats were ok, managed to stay within my point range, mainly because my snacks are usually fruit & dessert is usually sf jello & cool whip which I love.

Good night All!! Sleep well!!

Agree that if you weigh at home first thing, it is easier to eliminate some of the variables that show a temp or false gain/loss.

That being said, if I take this mornings wt, I have a 1 pound GAIN this week, if I take yesterday's morning wt I have a 1 pound LOSS this week. I'm calling it a draw. I had BFFs over last night, major snackage even though I did minimize by serving a salad, minimal amt of LF cheese, no chips, but someone brought hummus, my biggest weakness. Oh and there was Pinot...

Casino weekend sounds fun, Wendy~

Have a good one all.

Thanks Wendy, Jody and Wiggie. I feel better now. I weigh in and took my body fat % and loss .2% which is not a lot but good considering only a week.

I did 30 minutes of jumping rope this morning bringing my heart rate up to 165 then stopping and bringing it down to 155 and repeat for 30 minutes. It was awesome.

Jody:: I hear you on the up and down from day to day but it's still the best option for me. I have my OFFICIAL weigh in day on Fridays but when I know I ate something 'wrong' that will affect friday's weight I have the days just prior and right after to go by as well. As long as the longer term trend is that the # is going down and not up then I know I am doing ok and when I see it going down for few days and then it suddenly spikes I know it's just a temporary set back and nothing to worry about. :)

Hello All!!

Tomorrow is my weigh in so I'm trying to eat light today. Not sure what my workout will be, but I know it will be cardio. Some girlfriends called wanting to go out to eat tonight, you know I had to turn them down. Any other night yes, tonight no. They don't know I go to weight watchers & I'm not going to tell them unless they notice my weight loss. I've talked to them on the phone but haven't seen them in about 2 months.

Got to go, boss lurking nearby

Jody, what is hummus?

Hi all diet still needs alot of work. I havent had time to plan meals and when I do something comes up and I have to make an alternate plan.

Ran 2 miles again today and still no knee pain!! Yay!

Hey, guess what, Stacy, my diet needs work, too! LOL, did great yesterday, but things went awry after dinner/8 pm. It all started w/ a grilled cheese I fixed for dd that got burnt and, well, you can't just throw out a slightly charred yet still savory grilled cheese, can you? ::head smack::

Wiggie, hummus is a spread/dip made w/ chickpeas aka garbanzo beans and usually tahini (a nut butter made from sesame seeds) and often olive oil and usually garlic and coriander.
I think it is middle eastern or Greek. If I made it myself in food processor, I could get the fat down.
Good for you for turning down night out w/ the girls. Next time it comes up, you will be ready w/ being lean and have more experience and habit at eating balanced in those situations. It will be fun to surprise them, too.

Wendy, I think we agree on daily weigh ins!

Yesterday I did 4DS upper body only premix and two short HIIT. One a 6 min 20/15 run and the other was a 4 min bodyrock thingy.

Today I am planning on just a fun step w/o~

Have a great one, all

Good Morning girls!
I will re-introduce myself since i have been gone on vacation for about 6 weeks and i notice we have gotten a lot bigger as a group! yay!

I am Stephanie, 40 years old (just turned 40 last week), a highschool physical education teacher, I have 3 kiddos (one has muscular dystrophy a degenerative disease..lots of stress in my life..saddness too) and a husband that drives me crazy at times;)

I am 5 ft 4 and 3/4 (ever 1/4 counts!), I weigh 127 and am looking to lose 7 pounds ideally but will settle for 5. I was in great shape before my vacation and I have lost a little muscle since i was mainly doing travel fit for my exercise with a little cardio (hiit, ccc,tf) a couple of times a week. Since i weigh the same as before I left and my clothes a tiny bit snug i have lost hard earned muscle

Yesterday was my first day back and I started STS i did disc 2 and 3 and no DOMS today (i guess that means i didnt lose that much!) I also started drinking tons of water. I have managed to almost kick my diet coke addiction (i am down to less than 1 a day).

Wendy: Great job! you reached your goal! awesome! i have been reading the threads..so excited (ok a little jrealous too;)) for you..you are someone who definately earned it!:D
I am finally starting sts and will try to do each workout 2x a week (meso 1)until the new low impact arrives and then i will try and combine the two somehow!

Stacy: sorry for the sucky work situation! I don't know what i would do if I din't love my job as much as i do..it makes life so much easier.
I also have to buckle down on the diet...(its been the same since i started in May wasn't it:eek:) i have to admit Wendy's success is certainly motivational..
BTW way to go on the running 2 miles...if i count correctly you have done it 3 times now?

To all the others I will be keeping up to date and getting to know you as well! I am definately looking forward to it:D

BBL on today!

Welcome back Seph, nice to meet you:)

Today's workout was CLX burn circuit 2 and STS ab circuit medicine ball. It was a little hard with the ball. I am just starting to work on my abs. Thanks to Wendy I will be doing my abs 3 to 4 times a week maybe 4. Have a great day everyone:)

Hello All!!

Welcome back Steph, nice to meet you!!

Stacy I think diet will always be a work in progress, at least for me. Good job on another 2 miler!!

Thanks Jody!

My weigh in was today & I lost 3.2 lbs which was a suprise to me, I always aim for 2, but lately seldom make it. That makes a total of 25. I think its because I'm much heavier than you guys. I've always heard that the last 10 lbs were the hardest to lose. In 2001 I weighed 264 & wore a size 22 pants, 18 dress. Now I weigh 166 & wear a size 12 pants, 10 dress. My goal is to wear a size 8. I haven't been dieting the whole time. But when I lose I manage to keep most of it off. Every few years it hits me to try again. I've always worked out consistantly, can't say the same for my diet.

My workout yesterday was Fire 55, today I think it will be STS Total Body or High Reps.

Hello Ladies.

Rest day for me today. I needed it after having so much DOMS that past couple days. ;)

Tomorrow it's back to business though with a BR work out and a new series for my one body part per day lifting I've been doing. Will be using CTX this time starting with the back work. Cardio will be added on if there is time ofcourse. :)

Steph:: WELCOME BACK! Missed you girl! Hope you had a fantastic vacation but glad to have you back with us! Good job jumping right back in the game with STS! That's a brave way to kick it off! Good for you! :) TY re the weight loss. I've really worked hard keeping up with my diet/WW in order to make the weight loss happen. I knew diet was the key b/c the work outs are a no-brainer for me. Been exercising 6 days a week for years. The food was the hard part. I'm so thrilled that I found something that worked! :D

Wiggie:: Happy dance! That's great progress on the weight loss for you!Great job!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up! I know you can do it! ;)

Stacy:: Happy to hear that you are continuing to run without knee pain.:)

Jody:: So what step work out did you decide on for today?

Barb:: Don't give up on abs just cause it's hard! Do a little every other day and you will get there! You don't even have to do all of an ab circuit routine! I started with 5 mins a day!!!!!
