WW Week of 9/18

My work out is done!

I did the get up challenge and followed it up with about 20 mins of cardio from Circuit Burn by KCM. Good stuff!

I used a kettlebell in place of a sandbag for the get ups since I first saw the get up done in kb work outs. Initially I was holding the bell in the clean position but then remembered that it's traditionally done with the arm extended straight up from your shoulder when you are lying down and it goes overhead as you stand. Tough little work out. I used a 15# KB for most of it but dropped to a 10#'er for about 10 of the reps. I also had to alternate sides every 10 reps. My arm holding the bell couldn't handle 30 reps on one side non stop. OUCH!

Wiggie:: Oh great! Glad you are joining me! :) I know you just did the get up challenge so when/what work out will you start with?

good morning girls!

Well Thursday i took a rest day ..still haven't tried body rock:( I am finally on week 3 of meso 2!..i have already done this weeks dvds once (1 fri nite, the other two yesterday) I have a crazy week coming up and i want to make sure i get them done..today i will repeat fridays dvd and that leaves me with only 2 more to do for the week!
This week i really want to try to get some serious cardio in:)

Food wise..well yesterday i had an ice cream attack:( note to self...no ice cream in the house!

Wiggie: great job on the workouts! Wendy has converted another one!

Wendy: congrats on getting back to goal! you should be our mascot or something:D

Do you have a favorite kettlebell dvd? maybe after all my other rotations i wanted to give them a shot... I bought the Ilaria Atletica (didn't get it yet) she uses a weight sort of like a kettlebell..i figure i will see if i like before i put more equipement in my livingroom:eek:

Still haven't tried the Tracy anderson but i previewed it...she is a little peace and love, flower powery and i am not too sure i could handle her for a long perios of time.. any of you guys tried her? opinions? I have trouble imagining her music really pumping me up..we shall see..
off to do chest again! (man that disc is sooooo long:mad:) i just want to get it over with:D
 
Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I'm feeling a bit better these days, though work is still a bummer! I started a food journal last week and so far not really going all out with diet, just an "eye opener" journal at this point with daily weigh-ins, but no pressure on myself.

I've been trying to get in a minimum of three 30 min workouts each week and so far so good there, I'm slowly feeling my muscles come back from Flabbyville. I've been doing mostly Pure Strength workouts, the treadmill and some Jillian's. I read she was 5 ft 2 1/2" and 117 lbs....I always thought she was taller/weighed more. Anyway...

Great job on getting back to goal Wendy, I'm still about 12 lbs from mine.

Steph, how are you liking Meso 2? I sometimes will just do Disc 22 & 24 (I think those are the ones) as my upper body workouts for the week when I'm shorter on time since they are the shortest of all the discs, but still great. I love those drop sets! I think you might like Atletica, that's the workout that got me interested in kettlebells. I used an 8lb dumbell the first time and dropped to a 5 lb for one overhead exercise. After a few times, I used a 10 lb but it tweaked my shoulder a bit. I finally tried my first kettlebell workout, workout #1 from the RKS system...20 minutes and I had DOMS in my lower back and booty for 4 days! I'm just fitting in those workouts whenever I feel like it. I also bought Jillian's 6 Week 6 Pack it has two 30 minutes core/short cardio burst workouts....I loved it! You mentioned Tracy Anderson....her workouts intrigue me but everytime I watch a clip I get annoyed and cant justify the price for alot of her workouts, so never hit "purchase". Let me know what you think.

Wiggie...good luck with those BR workouts, you are brave!

Pace....still liking the CLX workouts? That's a set I've always looked at but was on the fence.

Hey Stacy great to hear from you!

Loving meso 2 but not so much the length of the disc 19 (dbl wave) 69 min! well at least its over with! i have done my 2x for the week!
Haven't tried the TA..only previewed and was pretty annoyed...we shall see..I keep running to my mailbox every night hoping Atletica has arrived..
you have to tell me how th RKS system is..(my husband is going to kill me)


You are already better than me food wise...i keep on starting the journaling and always stop by dinner time...no patience (maybe i just don't want to know how bad i am :eek:)

keep on letting us know when you feel like it how its going!
