WW vs. Cathe's nutrition

Carol,

Do you use the Greens+?
I put greens in my protein shakes so I'm PN compliant, but I switched my greens. I was worried about some of the herbal ingredients. I take BCP to control my peri-menopause problems and a few of the herbal ingredient is questionable with BCP.

Anyway, I switched to Super Food

I have tried every Greens+ I could find (haven't tried Super Food though), and I couldn't tolerate ANY of them. How do you like the Super Food? I sure would love to find a greens substitute for times when it's just easier, you know?

I was just wondering, is PN good vegetarians. Do they give your recipes and suggestions for proteins, etc.

I do eat fish on occasion but husband does not eat fish.

Thanks

There are a LOT of vegetarians on the site, successfully using the program.

You can find some excellent greens at any Whole Food Market.
I've tried this one and the taste is VERY good!

I don't see anything unusual in the ingredients. It tastes great mixed in water alone.

The super food is good, but doesn't taste as good as Earth's promises.

Most doctors will tell you that WW has one of the best programs out there. I did the points system and dropped 30 pounds. Then I switched over to Core and dropped the last 10 without even trying. I was already at goal and just wanted to make the switch to healthier eating.

With the Core program, it really is all about clean eating. You can have as much as you want, until you're full, as long as you eat foods that are on the Core list. Not surprisingly, sweets aren't on there.:D

If you have trouble with portion control, I would start with the points system to figure out what a true serving size is, then switch over to Core. I honestly don't think the points system is something that most people can do for the rest of their lives. But the Core/clean eating definitely is. I was hungry a lot on points, but now I feel satisfied during the day and that has made a huge difference in my life.

I don't know enough about Cathe's nutrition plan to comment on it but that's my scoop on WW.

Good luck!

I totally agree. WW Core is clean eating. I've compared it with other Clean Eating programs, like Tosca Reno's and it is comparable in most every way.

I think WW has changed a lot since I was a member but I was ALWAYS hungry on WW. And every time you drop weight you're allowed even less food. Back then, they never talked about eating for sustenance and energy. If you exercise you need to eat the right types of foods in the right amounts at the right times to aid you in whatever type of exercise you do, while still helping you to lose fat. Some people actually need more calories for the exercise they're doing. That's a very individual thing and it's almost impossible to cover everyone's specific needs in those meetings. Aside from being hungry all the time, I look back and think the meetings always seemed to be about what people HAD to give up and what type of artificial sweeteners to use to get the most authentic-tasting fake carrot cake! In other words, if you're serious about fitness you need to research what's going to work best for you and experiment until you find what helps sustain you and keep you from feeling hungry in the first place. I find the info I pick up from women (and men) HERE, as well as books and magazines like OXYGEN and MUSCLE AND FITNESS HERS a whole lot more useful than anything I ever got in a WW meeting. Women here are always posting great links to other sites I'd never find on my own that have led to great information (my newest crush is figureathlete.com so thank you to whomever posted the link last week). I just think WW is geared towards women who simply want to lose weight, as opposed to women looking to completely transform their bodies, minds, and lives. In fact, the only exercise I recall ever being discussed was Curves and Leslie Sansone... That's fine for lots of people but, if you come here, it's probably not nearly enough for you. I'm guessing...
