This is why I no longer have a land line. Someone with the same last name as DH (I never changed mine) evidently owes a ton of money. We had collectors calling day and night. Nothing I did would stop it. Most of the calls were from machines. Now we only have our cell phones.

i was getting calls from a few ppl who thought we were a church. one day they called when DD was very sick and woke her up,so i was a little off the deep end at the moment. i felt bad yelling at the woman but i kept telling them we were not a church and we were tired of getting phone calls about ordering pamphlets. apparently they did what my MIL does gives out another number when trying to cash in on the freebies. i actually got a call from liberty university(right in my city). it was a recorded message but i wish they would leave a number so i can call them back too. i know its not the fault of the person calling this time around but man its so annoying to tell them to stop. if they keep thinking we are a church i am going to apply for tax exemption LOL.

we did get one two days ago for my FIL. they of course put down our number instead of their own. its annoying, i can understand when they mis-dial but getting the wrong number b/c somebody did it on purpose really get me boiled.

For sure! At my old apartment, one of the local Gap stores used to have our # listed on their website. We would get calls day and night from people asking about sizes, hours, etc...

One day, we were totally fed up, and unfortunately for the Gap, my DH is a jacka**. :)
One caller asked about our hours that day. He told them that we were open from 11am-noon. When questioned, he reiterated that we were open for that hour only, and only on Thursdays.
Apparently that caller called the district office to complain. We then got a call from the district manager asking about why we were only open for an hour. DH suggested that he may want to get their website updated, or they could expect that same type of promotion indefinitely.
Oddly, that was the last phone call we ever received for the Gap... LOL! :)

I think this is hilarious! And your DH thought of the perfect response/solution. It worked!

I had a company call me several times one day trying to send a fax... OVER AND OVER... I had to look up the number, call the company and explain to them several times (they just didn't get it) what the problem was. Luckily they quit calling. Sure was frustrating... especially when I had a baby whom they woke from napping!
