This man is a tycoon around here. But i think it is just sick for an 84 yr. old to marry a 22 yr. old.

Republican Fayette County Commissioner Joseph A. Hardy III, who celebrated his 84th birthday earlier this year with a lavish party at his own Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa, will wed his third wife this weekend.

Jeff Nobers, spokesman for Hardy, confirmed Monday that Hardy is "getting married this weekend." Although Nobers declined to comment additionally, Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia on the Internet, listed Hardy's fianc?e as Christen Georgi.

According to various local sources, Georgi is in her early 20s and a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, and has been seen sporting a 10-carat diamond ring and driving a Porsche, both reported gifts from Hardy.

Hardy, the millionaire founder of 84 Lumber who turned Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa into a world-class resort and brought a PGA event to the site for several years, is twice divorced.

The wedding will reportedly take place on Saturday in Las Vegas, less than two weeks before the May 15 municipal primary.

Hardy and Fayette County Commission Chairwoman Angela M. Zimmerlink are the only two candidates seeking the two available GOP nominations.

Oh, c'mon. It is true love!!! I am sure money has NOTHING to do with it }(

If it was my daughter, I'd probably question her sanity and knock some sense into her. Huh, thank God, I won't be in that situation, don't have any daughters :p

ETA:

WHAT???She gets 2 Mio $$ if she stays one measly year, where were those millionaires when I was in my early twenties, dang it. I would have made it through a year for $ 2 Mio. JUST KIDDING, really, just kidding!

Well if I could have a cut of the money I would be all for it. Why not??? I mean it's better than her doing porn right?!?!

ha ha gotcha! No, it is wrong and obvious that she is in it for the money. If it were my daughter I would be very disappointed in her and my self for my poor parenting and not teaching her better values.

I don't really have a problem with it. People get married for all kinds of reasons - there's often a trade-off "husband gives his ability to provide financially and wife gives her youth, fertility, and ability to be nurturing", or whatever. In this case it's obviously worth it to him to give all that money for a few years of being with a gorgeous young thing, and it's worth it to her to spend time with an old codger to get all that money. Consenting adults, no problem IMO.

I don't have a problem with it either. If it makes them happy...

But I do have to admit two things - I do question the ability of a 22 year old to really understand the long term consequences of marrying an 84 year old man. I think we all do stupid things at 22.

Second, I would like to think I set the proper example for my DD's that they do not think that money equals happiness and marrying strictly for money (which we do not know is the case here - maybe there is affection) is not the way to a good life. But if this is what she truly wanted, I would bless the marriage.
