Worn out! (whiney)

Yes, I would like some cheese with my whine, thanks!! Sit on the couch and eat cheese. Mmmmmm......I love cheese.

Ladies, I am worn out. I finished up the 6 month STS rotation about 3 wks ago or so. I wanted to do 4DS next, so like an idiot (yes, I know better) I jumped right in. And I am paying for it. I am 2 1/2 weeks in to what was supposed to be a month of 4DS, and I don't think I can finish it. I am doing 4DS on M/T and Th/F with cardio on W/Sa/Su. I am not sleepy tired, I am worn out tired. My arms and legs feel like lead and I have the tell-tale tension/ache between my shoulder blades of working hard for too long. I think coming off of Meso 3 is what is killing me.

I want to do a month of Gym Styles (new to me, and really looking forward to them) after 4DS, but at this point, I don't even want to look at my weights. Frankly, I want nothing more at this point to toss them out the window. But that would require me to haul them upstairs and then chuck them out the window, and that is just alot of work:p:eek::D

I'm thinking of finishing out this week of 4DS - only 2 more workouts to go, then scrapping next week and making it a rest week. I haven't had a rest week since the break between M2 and M3. Yeah, stupid I know. I want to be fresh for GS, I want to have fun with it. I was thinking that maybe I'm just bored from doing the same workouts for 2 1/2 weeks now, but nope, I'm TIRED!!!!!

Cardio is still fun, and I think I may do Hiit Pyramids tonight, in out and done  But weights - blech. Yup, think I'm going to finish out the week and give it a rest. Start GS fresh for March.

Nan

Did you take a week off after you finished STS? I think you need one of those weeks of walking and yoga.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs.

You definitely sound like you need a rest week. Remember you come back stronger and with more endurance after a week off--at least I do. Maybe I shouldn't generalize but I am always so happy after I do a rest week and come back to working out with so much more energy and enthusiasm. No guilt is the other important part!

what RapidBreath said! You're overtraining. Take off a week and do some gentle activities and some yoga. Then you'll be fresh to get back at it. Your body needs rest.

Boy do I know that worn out feeling. Definitely take a rest week - no weights; plenty of stretching; yoga, easy stuff, whatever feels good & you will definitely come back ready to hit GS.

me too

You know, I've been feeling similar. I'm mainly doing cardio (most of the new sts cardio's), and some firm w/ 5# weights w/ cardio. I've been hurting and can't give 100%. I think I'll take it down a notch, and just do the cardio w/ no weight (not even light) and yoga this week and maybe next week too. -autumn

It's funny, but I actually remember feeling that way after my second STS rotation. I almost think it was mental exhaustion more than physical. STS is WONDERFUL, but also time consuming and strict as far as timing, days, etc. When you finally finish that last workout it's like a weight has been lifted (with 5% more strength... haha!!)

So, I took a couple weeks and just did light weight and cardio work. I took every other day off. When I was ready to get back into the game I pulled out all of my Cathe DVD's and started rotating them all over the place. Now i'm 75 days in without a day off (two days a week I cut short- 30 minutes) and feeling fantastic. Almost can't believe that I haven't hit burnout mode yet!

Give your soul the time it needs to gear back up! It will make a huge difference in your energy levels :)

Good God Girl! Your Body is screaming "I need a break girl"!!!! First off, don't feel quilty.....by taking a little break (yoga and stretching is a great idea) you'll be better than ever!!! and your body will thank you especially when you get into the gym next month. Oh yeah.....and could you pass the CHEESE PLEASE!
