Good morning gang

Beautiful morning here in NJ. My old running buddies and I were planning to go out for a 4 mi run this morning, but my right hip joint decided otherwise. After 3 mi I had to walk back to my car, it was very achy. In the past 7 years I ran 14 marathons, but now I think my running days are finally over.:(
I was also planning to do ME after the run, but instead I only did the core from BC -- giving my hip a little rest.

Enjoy the day everyone!

I opened my windows and did CMAx then I couldn't resist doing SJP step portion only before cooling down and stretching with CMAx.

Mari...so sorry about your hip...:(...I am getting over Achilles Tendonitis myself. Today I did PUB until the biceps as I had increased some weights on the other upper body parts...:)... so I'll do the biceps tomorrow. Then the abs from C&W. I went out with some friends for a 2 hr 15 minute trail run, jog, walk..:)...on some trails by a lake where I live. Lots of uphill, downhill, creeks to cross and rocks. It has been raining here in North Cal. My sister took a nasty fall but is okay. My achilles felt good, no pain which is nice. I have run 11 marathons myself but really want to start doing more Ultra runs. I did my first 50k a little over a year ago and loved it. I hope your hip feels better soon....:)...Carole

I did Legs & Glutes, and went heavy!! 5# ankle weights, 30# total for all plie squats and lunges where Cathe and crew use one dumbell (I used two 15# ones), and a 20# dumbell for those drop squats off the box. I really love this workout, but I need to go much heavier in order to feel it. I like the fact it's got a bit of an endurance quality to it as well. Love that work at the end with nothing except the ankle weights!!

Carole, which 50k did you do? I did two 50ks in the past (2001-2002), both were in NYC, the Kurt Steiner 50k in Central Park. It was a lot of fun. If you think marathoners are crazy you have to see the ultra runners, right? It was an experience for a life time.
My hip is busted, I have arthritis of the hip. So unless I grow some new cartliage I'm done. Thank God for Cathe, her workouts help keeping my sanitiy. And this forum gives back the camaraderie to me that I miss so much from running!
Thanks for listening :)

I did Run on the Sly..near Sacramento Calif, in Sept of 2002. Yes...ultra runners are nuts!!!! I so want to be one...:)...Arthritis?...yuk....are trails any easier on your hip? I prefer trails myself and at 45 I think it is a good choice. Yes, Cathe's workouts have helped me thru a bad phase. I am slowly getting back into lifting heavy, as I feel that is the best way to build strength and prevent injuries. I know what you mean about camaraderie...this forum is wonderful...:)...Carole

Hi everyone

I did PUB and increased my back weights. I did the stability ball part with a stability ball for the first time--had done the modifications before--how funny--the ball will definitely take PRACTICE!

taking a nursing break--phone woke babyx( and now I am off to do some stationary biking, which I hate, but my knee can't handle hi impact everyday.

take care
Maggie

I am humbled by you marathoners, even the injured ones! 10 years of running just about ruined my knees and I had to give it up. But, I'm starting to do some short runs on my treadmill and I'm hoping to slowly increase the distance. I figured if I do a lot of floorwork and knee strengthing exercises I just may get there someday!

Now, onto the topic. I like these daily check-ins! I did David Swenson's 30 min Short Forms practice and walked 2 miles on the treadmill. Today was my recovery day. One more week to get in shape for skiing!:7
