Hi Cathe! New to your workouts (a month old). Need your recommendation as to which workouts (preferably from DVD group) are well suited for an endomorph. I have the CTX series. Hope you or anyone else can help me on this as I am planning to buy new workouts soon. Thanks a lot.

Hi Nette! Nice to meet you. It would actually be easier and more effective to help you select your next workouts based on your actual goals rather than your body type (ie: are you wanting more muscle, body fat loss, just toning etc.) Also, how are you doing with the CTX series?

Hi Cathe! Thanks for responding. My goals are for body fat loss, some lean muscle tone. I am only using 3 and 5 lb. dumbbells right now, but am thinking of getting an 8 lb. dumbbell and also a troy lite barbell set.

I am on the 4th week on the CTX and I am seeing a tiny bit of bicep definition, noticed that lats (by armpit area) have reduced a bit, tiny bit of fat loss in abs, upper arm toning up, but feel that my legs and thighs are feeling bulky. I do all the CTX workouts 6 days a week and do 2 body parts a day. I do Leaner Legs on Saturdays, for 3 weeks I used 5 lb. dumbbells and last Saturday, started to eliminate the weights. I also started to eliminate weights on Power Circuit.

Before I started CTX, I was doing Tae Bo, low impact aerobics, step, pilates and power yoga. I still add on 20 minutes of either pilates or yoga after CTX. I am really enjoying the CTX workouts a lot and have even learned most of the step workouts which makes me feel so motivated. I also feel that my body has been shocked by the workouts coz my metabolism is just up there. I love these workouts!

Am I doing the right thing by eliminating the weights on the leg workouts.

Will the intensity series (which I am thinking of getting for Christmas) be a good workout rotation for my goals (w/ modifications, of course!). Your response is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Hello,

I am not Cathe, but can offer you some advice from my own personal experience.

I have been using PH, MIS and BodyMax for about 3-4 months now and I actually find that the heavier I go, the more weight I lose. I use 6-12lbs dumbells and 25-35lbs barbell (not nearly as much as Cathe but almost). I have not increased muscle size at all and have noticed bicep muscles when I flex my arm, and my legs are slimmer.

If I were you, I'd go heavier and do more cardio (the best is running). 5lb dumbells are nothing at all.
