Hello all
Dutchie, there are many things that you can do. If you'd go longer than 10m that would definitely give you a lot of confidence. Also, you can insert a little speedwork into your long run too, like a few striders at the and, say pick up the pace for a hundred meter or so then do that a few times during the last 1-2 miles. That would teach your legs to run faster even when they are already tired. IMHO it is not that necessery to run the 10m at every weekend. You can do longer one weekend and do shorter the other weekend but maybe faster.
Be careful though to not increase the distance a lot and do too much speedwork at the same time. I always loved tempo runs. My favorite big time butt kicker was the long-tempo run -- finish the long run with a few miles @ tempo pace at the end. Nothing will give you more stamina then that.
I learned a lot form the book "Jack Daniles: Running Formula". I don't know if you have it, but it is a basic book to have for racing. Best of luck to you!
Carole excuse my ignorance but what is TOTM? ME is my long time favorite, btw.
