I am looking for help on my exercise and workout rotation. I have a "library" of wonderful exercise DVDs that I love for different reasons and also an elliptical trainer. I have 11 DVDs, most of them Cathe, some Jari Love, one from The Firm, and a yoga DVD. My question is what is a good routine/rotation. Should I stick with just one workout 3 times a week and to the elliptical workout on the opposite days or should I alternate the DVD workouts every time or wait a few weeks and then got to a different DVD when I get bored. My main goals are weight/fat loss and tightening/toning. Is it good to switch workouts often or stick with one thing for a while to give your body a chance to adapt. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

In addition, checking out the Rotations forum will give you a great idea of how to plan your workouts to best suit you and your goals. I've been alternating weight and cardio days and have seen pretty cool results (I've lost pounds and inches, gained strength, and I'm enjoying myself).

Right now, I'm sticking with a monthly rotation, so each month I select one or two Cathe weight DVDs and work with those for 4 weeks. For Cardio days, I pick whatever appeals to me at the moment.

After those 4 weeks are over, I plan a new rotation.

Thanks for your quick replies! The 11 DVDs that I have to work with are: The Firm Ultimate Fat Burning Workout with Allison Davies, Stacy McCarthy's Yoga Body Lean & Defined, Jari Love's Get Ripped Slim & Lean, Ripped to the Core, Ripped 1000, and Ripped & Chiseled and the Cathe DVDs I have are Drill Max, Kick Max, Boot Camp, Muscle Endurance, and Butts & Guts. I've owned many others, but found I am not a real big fan of step aerobics although I did like them, but just wanted to scale down to my absolute faves! I need to lose 20 pounds in order to get down to a normal BMI. I am concentrating on "Clean" eating and portion control. Some days are better than others of course! I was in really great shape two summers ago, but since I have gained my weight back I can no longer do the "boy" push ups and I can't do all the tricep dips. I just do my best to fatique my muscles and work within my fitness level. I always get in a sopping wet sweat, so I know I'm working hard enough. I just really want to get this weight off and feel good again! Thanks all!
