WORKOUT SATURDAY 8/21

Cathlete
Good morning everyone,

Today I ran for about 20 minutes and walked for another 20 minutes. Then I did Cardio and Weights. My abs just aren't feeling that strong lately so I think I might try to work them about 4-5 times a week to get them stronger. Still struggling to lose those 5 pounds -its DRIVING ME CRAZY!(my husband tells me its a short drive:) )Anyway, I've been slacking a bit on the diet(ok maybe more than a bit) - that is just one thing I am constantly struggling with!

Well, the Body Blast Series is scheduled to arrive on Monday! I can't wait.

Also, as I asked in another post, is anyone else thinking of doing the September rotation? I had never done one before and was thinking about it.

Now I'm off to help a friend paint her porch....I'll check in later.

H Wendy...thanks for starting! I think being strict on your diet for awhile should really help the abs...:)...the Body Blast series is great.

I have done Cathe's workouts a long time but have never done any of her rotations. The only rotation I have done is P90X....and I like mixing that with Cathe and running as that seems to work best for me.

I am doing KenpoX and AbRipperX later and might even add some shoulder, tricep and bicep work too...enjoy the day...:)

Afternoon all,

Actually very late afternoon on this end:)

Wendy, you're gonna love the bb-series.

I had P90X scheduled for today, but thought it wouldn't be too good for the knees to do it twice a week. So I did Legs&Glutes instead.

Hadn't done it since April, according to my log and apparently, back then I thought it was easy. Well it was tough today. I'd forgotten what a fast-paced workout it was. And despite you don't use that many weights, it was really tough today. Jeezz, I'll be sore tomorrow. Did anyone notice that it's your standing leg that starts to shake and tire before your working leg feels it? I skipped the explosive lunges because of my knees (ain't that a good excuse:) It's not like I've been neglecting my lower body with the running and PlyoX and the lower body work in ME and MIS, but apparently my LB needs much more work than that.

Have a great day,

Dutchie:+

Hi everybody,

I did CTX's Power Circuit minus the back, planks and abs but I did do All Step's abs and cooldown. I tell you, for 30 min. Cathe can really work up a sweat and try to kill you!! }( After previewing it yesterday it wasn't sooo bad, I made it through easier than I did yesterday with Step and Intervals. I am trying to figure out what to do next week. Whether to try a Pyramid rotation of some type or do the CTX rotation. I have all day tomorrow also to think about it.:p :)

Hope you all have a great day!

Dutchie, do you speak English? Are you native to the Netherlands?

Just curious.:D

Hi Annette,

Yes, I do speak English. Americans and Brits seem to think I'm from Australia and Australians think I'm from England (I work for a company with a lot of expatriats). In fact, I'm a Dutch national from very mixed ancestry.

I tend to pick up accents real easy. Good thing we don't speak, cause I'd have an American accent:) :)

Why not mix up the Pyramid and CTX rotation?

Annette, I only have All Step on VHS but I'm wondering what you think your new CTX series so far- it sounds like you like it. Do you have a favorite yet? How does it compare to other Cathe workouts?

Dutchie,
In your post you mentioned you keep a log of your workouts, I never thought of that. What do you include in it besides what you did and how long you did it for? What a great idea:) I might have to try that.

I write in my log how I felt doing the workout, what went well or not, when relevant the temperature (can be a major influence), if anything is sore, basically everything I want to. I also give every workout a rating. So I might do PUB one day and rate it 8 and do it a week later and rate it a 5 (overhere we always rate on a scale from 1-10). I always workout with my HRM so I also write down average HR, calories, how much time I trained in my zone etc.

You can buy a workout log, but they're quite expensive. I made one myself on my computer, copied it double sided at work and stuck it in a binder with a photo of me crossing the finish line of my first run on the cover.

It's very motivating. All those pages filled with my thoughts about a workout. And blank spaces shaming me into working out:) And it gives you an insight on your progress, when you might be overtraining etc.

I also paste in relevant articles on working out, running, whatever I consider interesting. And I bought a bunch of children's stickers like smiley's, flowers, clowns etc and use them in my log. I know I'm a big kid:+

Hello Ladies

Nice to see the whole gang!

Wendy, you can pick up a training log at Borders too, and use that. I'm still using my old training log from www.coolrunning.com,

I did Karen Voight Circuit Training today. I don't knwo why, but I just love circuit training, and most of all, I see the best changes when I do them. I just love doing cardio - weight - cardio - weight segments.
Maybe I can insert some cardio breaks with P90X too.

My son did S&H for the first time yesterday, and he is soooo soooorrreee!
Am I a child abuser? :)

Wendy, let me see, favorite yet?? Not sure, I have only done the cardio on the ones that I have done so I can't speak yet for the weight work. I have done the weight work on All Step and it is a killer so if the others are like it then I am in trouble. As far as intensity goes it compares and ranks right up there with her hour long workouts. I was sweatin buckets and really begging for the 30 min. to be over with by the end. Kickbox was fun but it did have more hi/lo than kickbox type moves in my opinion. Step and Intervals was a challenge and I will have to work on that one. All Step I had done on VHS and I like it also, Power Circuits was good and challenging also but the choreography was easier. 10-10-10 I liked alot but I will have to work on the step portion of that one also. I have not done Leaner Legs yet and from what I have heard it is a doozy!! I am enjoying the change in pace and trying something new.:D :)

Thanks for asking!!:)
