Workout Mon Oct 4

God morning ladies....today I'll do a 4 or 5 mile run and then Core Synergistics. It is supposed to be about 90 so I might even get some sun!

Mari, I believe when I did my training for my best marathon 8:00 pace, I did train with men. I know how much better you can get when you run with people that push you. I have no real goal in mind yet for the New year marathon....?

Enjoy the workouts ....:)...Carole

HI Carole, brrrr it is in the low 50's here, where are you that it is still in the 90's?? Fall is definetely upon us around here.

I did a 53 min. premix off of KPC and abs off of MIS. My tom started so maybe that is why my weight has been up so much and I have been feeling really really bad. I sure hope so because eliminating the food thing didn't work, sigh. So my monthly must be the reason, or at least that is what I am going to blame it on anyway.:+ :)

Have a great day Carole and all to follow!!:D

Hi Annette...:)...I live in Northen Calif. It is a bit cool in the morning, about 59 now....but sometimes in Oct we do have this weird heatwave! And..you and I seem to be on the same cycle...:)....and it does add a couple of lbs....Carole

Hi Annette and Carole,

I'm also waiting for my cycle, this is weird. I did PLB this morning and will go spinnig in the evening.

Carole, What marathon are you training for?

Morning all,

Hope you're feeling better Annette...your analysis could be right on...was for me last week! Sigh

Today is cardio & I did RS...SO much fun...did the Challenge twice.:+

Everyone, have a great day!

Ruth:)

I hope you all don't mind if I begin daily check-ins with you? I find that no one in my "real" world can fully appreciate how good it feels to complete a Cathe workout ;) I've lurked on this thread for quite some time, but haven't wanted to intrude. However, since my tom began today along with the rest of you, I felt that we were in sync, and fate was telling me to put in my two cents. I just began week 4 of Cathe's Jan/04 rotation, so this morning I did Cardio & Weights followed by Legs and Glutes. I live in northern Canada, so the weather here is chilly: +6 degrees celcius this morning. I'm not sure what that translates to in Fahrenheit. Somewhere just above the freezing point. Grand kudos to the long distance runners on this list! I don't have the patience or the motivation to do so much running. Plus, with winter almost upon us it is much more inviting to throw in a Cathe video and bounce around my brightly lit, warm, dry living room.

Cheers,
Sandra

Sandra,

Obviously you have better manners than I...I just pushed my way in! LOL

So glad you're here,
Ruth:)

Hi everyone

Sandra - welcome to the group -don't worry I'm not much of a runner either. Besides, now that its getting colder-I'm in northern Illinois-although not as cold as where you are-I really don't have much motivation to run.

Today I felt like having an easy day -was a rest day but I did Karen Voight Abdominals and Back Pilates - I must admit my flexibility needs drastic improvement.

I don't know what Tom means but obviously it has to do with that "oh so glorious time of the month." I must admit, I'm a bit freaked out-mine started late yesterday}(

Well, my clean eating is gone and will continue to go out the window today. Today is my 29th birthday and a girl at work brought donuts and for dinner I am going to my parents house. Mom made me all my favorites - chicken almondine casserole, banana bread, apple pie and a raspberry creme pie...:9 :9 :9.

Tomorrow better be IMAX for a good cardio blast.

Have a great day!!!

Good Afternoon ALL!! Nice to have another Canadian Gal checking in FiddleFit, welcome!! Here in Southeast Ontario it's sunny and cool, perfect day to go pumpkin shopping!:)

It's kind of strange that we're all hovering around our TOTM, I felt crampy and yukky early this a.m. and peeled myself off of the couch about 8:00 and did step from BodyMax and some new BodyPump choreography for about 1/2 hour. I felt better after but must admit that I didn't have as much pep in (or on) my step while I was working out. Makes me appreciate the good days!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Day!!

Take Care
Laurie

Thank you everyone for making me feel welcome. I took tom to mean "time of the month". If it means something else, then man do I feel embarrassed :D

Laurie, I'm originally from small-town Southwestern Ontario, near London. I miss, miss, miss the beautiful fall weather that Ontario has, particularly as you go farther northeast. Are you near Kingston, perhaps? I lived there for 2 years and adored it. I'm in Edmonton now. Brrr! The city is beautiful, and the weather has its own level of charm. Enjoy your pumpkin shopping! And I high-five you on doing BodyMax step on a day when you're feeling rough. That's challenging!

Wendy, tomorrow you should have tons of energy for IMAX because of all the glycogen that will be in your system from those delicious desserts! Have a terrific birthday! I've celebrated the anniversary of my 29th birthday, oh, about 5 times now. It's a great day!

Cheers,
Sandra

Hey Sandra!! I was born on Vancouver Island (Comox) and moved to Trenton, Ontario (Military Brat) as a child and have bounced around the province quite a bit in the past 15 years (Brampton, Belleville, Peterborough and finally Kingston). I have lived in Kingston's west end for a little over a year and really like being close to the water again and absolutely love downtown, so many great restaurants and patios. Where were you in Kingston?
The colours are just starting to show now. It really is a lovely time of year and I am just starting to do some baking and preparing for Thanksgiving next Monday.
Where abouts were you near London, my brother and sister both went to Western and decades ago I worked at a bus station so I've heard of just about every one horse town between here and pretty much anywhere people wanted to go in this beautiful Country!
I love your comments about Edmonton's charming weather, we Canadians have mastered the art of passive acceptance of whatever mother nature blows our way.:)

Sandra....welcome!!!! New people are cool....love hearing about other workouts! And about how beautiful Canada sounds from you and Laurie....it makes me a bit jealous..:)

Josie I am training for a marathon in Redding, Calif on Jan 1st. I did it 2 years ago in 4 hours, it was very cold. I am hoping to do it faster althought miles 11 thru 20 have some nasty hills and on pavement. I am trying a new Marathon training schedule from runnersworld.com for advanced runners. I am not quite up to their distance for the weeks yet so I am modifying a bit...:)

I have heard this old wives tale about women that work together eventually getting on the same cycle..yes TOTM! I wonder if it also pertains to message board posters.... :D

Laurie....I have a massage scheduled for next Tues!!!!! :7 :+ :D...can hardly wait...Carole

Hey Carole: That's funny that you say it sounds beautiful here, I thought the same thing about your neck of the woods when you mentioned Northern California. I have to admit that I'm not all that familiar with American Geography but I immediatedly imagined majestic mountains and beautiful Pacific coastlines. I've been coast to coast in Canada but have only been through New York State (which surprised me by it's natural beauty)in the U.S.

That massage is well deserved, you and your legs (and heart) have been working very hard, Enjoy!!:)

Take Care
Laurie

Hi Laurie,

I LOVE Vancouver Island. Do you get back there much? As a military family, I'm surprised that you never found your way to Edmonton. Or were the military moves confined only to Ontario? When we lived in Kingston I was attending Queen's University, so spent a lot of time around the university. We lived in an apartment just off the 401; not scenic, but practical. My favourite thing about Kingston was its proximity to so many provincial and national parks. I really enjoyed going for day hikes, particularly when the leaves were in colour. My husband and I made it a point to go for long drives in the fall, where we would drive up the river to, oh gosh my memory, that place past Cornwall. Ummmmm. There's a big bridge there. We would cross over to the US, and drive back down the other side of the river, and take the ferries back across to Kingston, via Wolfe Island.

My family is from Mount Brydges, and my husband's family is from Glencoe. I did my undergraduate degree at Western (King's College), from 1989 to 1993.

You kind of have to be accepting of the weather, don't you? Actually, Edmonton has wonderful weather, except for the short summers and dark winters. I really enjoy the lack of humidity, although the dryness creates a set of problems of its own. C'est la vie, n'est pas?

Enjoy your baking! We're going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving, but I may still cook a turkey this week just to get the leftovers for sandwiches, soups and casseroles.

Take care,
Sandra
