workout mat

Cathlete
can anyone recommend a heavy duty workout matt that i can use to absorb the shock when i do plyo work? My floors in the house are tile so i need a good shock absorber to save my knees.

I needed something for my basement floor 'cause it is cement and my knees were aching. I found thick puzzle mats at greatmats.com and they work pretty well. They can be configured any way and are (i think) 3/4 inch thick, so they provide good cushioning.

Kariev,

I got mine from www.matsmatsmats.com and it's the black aerobics/fitness mat and I love it. I also have tile floors so I put a yoga mat underneath this black mat to keep it from slipping because it will still slide especially when you are doing lateral moves (Heismans, 123s, etc.) without the yoga mat. I forgot whether I have the 1/4" or 3/8", but will check. HTH :)

My workout area is in my garage so I have 2 layers of puzzle mats and it works great. I got some at Walmart and some at Costco.
