Workout log for week of June 29th

Cathlete
Hey girls! I hope everyone's enjoying their pregnancies. I almost hesitated to put my log up this week because I've really had a hard time. 1st trimester cannot end soon enough for me. I've struggled with extreme nausea, fatigue & diarrhea (yuk!). I'm just keeping focused on the prize at the end of the journey!!! Here we go:

Sun: CTX All Step
Mon: off
Tues: CTX Step & Intervals
Wed: Rhythmic Step Segments 1 & 2***
Thurs: PUB (without abs)
Fri: CTX kickbox w/PUB abs
Sat: off

***Warning to all nauseus pregos out there!!! Don't attempt to do Rhythmic Step. There are way too many turns and twists. I was feeling nauseus BEFORE I began this workout. I made modifications as much as I could, but by segment 3 I had to cut the video short. Live and learn, right?***

Yes Melanie as a post nauseus prego I have to concur that RS would not be the video....but I'll give you some that are much more condusive to intermittent chucking.....S&H is great as you barely need to stop the tape to run and throw up and be back for the next set. PUB/PLB is just too quick in between sets, but you can pause the tape throw up and be back in a jiff. If you need a good cardio workout...stick to IMAX type tapes where you can hit the recovery cycle, run and chuck and be back for the next interval. Leave out any tapes that have the mombo chacha with a pivot as these really made me sick, as did figure 8's. Isn't that a great review!!!!

This week "started out" great but that's where it ended.

M - CTX upperbody and C&W abs
T - LL with abs and PLB ball work
W - PS all upperbody and abs
TH - Body Max aerobic section with abs at the end
F,S,S, RESTED oooooooh, was just so busy these days, and it was sooo hot and humid. And I'm going to miss tomorrow morning too as we have to go pick up an old english mastiff puppy from a few hours north of here. I will hit it hard the rest of the week....promise!!

Briee

PS I think your week looks just great for a nauseus prego!!

Briee: Thanks for the insight. I haven't actually vomited yet (very lucky)...just super nauseus. I"m good today though. It feels great to have a good day every once in a while! Yes, I was going to do PUB again yesterday, but I just did it earlier that week. I"m so much of a cardio junkie. I don't get my endorphin release from strength training. I guess I'll have to get over that!

Have a great week & enjoy your new puppy.

Hello there,
Here is my week (and take into consideration I have to modify a lot, so it isn't as impressive as it looks--eg no abs, 4"step, very little jumping, etc., and I may have to drop dead lifts because they are stressing my back)

Thurs July 3rd---Power Hour (nearly killed me)
Fri---Rythmic Step*
Sat---Power Hour (nearly killed me again)
Sun---Power Max
Today--CTX upper body**
Tomorrow, hopefully--LL (for the first time ever) and some stationary biking
Wed---REST:D

*I think this is my last time during pregnancy for this video. I love it, but belly is to big and all the little shuffly cha cha type moves were just too hard.

**CTX Upper Body was fun. This was my first time with it. I felt rather surly during the chest section when we got to those pushups. I really hate pushups plus my belly gets in the way. I refused to do the triceps pushups at the very end of the workout--maybe next time...maybe.

Just listening to the two of you about the nausea--Hoo boy I do not miss that stage. Mine always clears up between 13 and 16 weeks. I really feel sorry for ladies who have it the whole pregnancy. But when you are in the middle of it, it does feel like it will go on for ever. Hang in there.

Maggie
