Wow Shopaholic.....you are doing great. I better post too before I forget all the intense work I did last week, it's just soooo much I have to think hard to remember.....

Wednesday....PUB with abs, but the pikes were less pikey than they should have been.

Okay that's it for me. Now before you guys think I've thrown in the towel...I am planning to get things back together this week. I'm calling last week a rest week and my muscles are sufficiently prepped to be BURNED this coming week. I just don't know what happened to me last week, I've never gone through such a low point in probably 3 years....this pregnancy is much different than the last one.

Hope I didn't miss too many posts...been away from the board for a few days!! Glad you guys are doing soooo well and are such an inspiration.

Briee

Briee, your body probably needed the break.
I don't know why I got more energetic last week, probably a drop in the humidity. I've been finding the firm videos great durung pregnancy since they quickly move from one thing to another they keep my energy up. I am also eating alot which is helping the energy level.

Just a quickie here....it's 6:30 Monday morning and I'm "bounding" down to our workout room to do CTX Upperbody!!!!!!!!!!

LOOK OUT MUSCLES.....(is that a good attitude or what, I'm really trying here!!)

Briee

Ok, I am a little nervous to start posting too much here, but I will let you know what I did last week.

Sun: off
Mon: 1/2 Power Hour
Tues: 20 min stationary bike, 40 min of Rhythmic Step
Wed: All of Power Hour
Thurs: off
Fri: All of Rhythmic Step
Sat: off

I was very tired last week, I feel better today, I hope it keeps up for the rest of the week!

Okay Kathy, now tell me why you're nervous to post here? If it's due to the belief that your not doing enough then my week should put you at complete ease!!! I did discover upon looking at my workout log last week that I also did PH, but I took lots of breaks in between body parts, giving me a grand total of two workouts in one week, yahoooooo!! Some weeks are just like that and I'm hoping that this week I'll have a little more energy. Everyone has been so encouraging here and it has helped to keep my eyes on the goal!!

I can't remember when you are due? That first trimester can be tough to get through (I'm still waiting for some energy to return), and in the meantime I'm gaining more than I really want to!!!!!

Briee

You two are too funny! No, it's niether of those things, but you are right I have been posting a lot lately, huh? No competition though, Debbie!:)
It actually has to do with the fact that last time I miscarried at 2 months and am trying not to jinx (sp?) things by posting too much on the Pregnancy forum just yet.
It may sound silly, but I am only 5 weeks along, I think, and I am just being very careful this time. It was very hard to have to tell people that I lost the baby. So, I haven't told any of my family and only one other person besides all of you until I reach my third month. Then if all is going well, I will spill the beans to everyone.

To be honest I can't wait for their reaction, mainly because this one is due 1 day before my 1st son was due. He was 4 weeks early though, I'm hoping to carry this one to term to seperate their birthdays!:)

Debbie....I believe you have enough of a lead that you can relax a tad. (but don't quit posting :) :) )

Kathy, now I remember you posting that earlier. We are going to pray that all goes well. Isn't it helpful to have friends here at the forum that you can share with even when you can't tell your friends and family yet? Sometimes we all need a place where we can get some encouragement and support and Cathe seems to be that kind of a place :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 .

And Debbie is "chief encourager/supporter" ;-) ;-) ;-)

Briee

Hi everyone,

Kathy, I will keep you in my prayers as well.

Melanie, I am glad things went well telling your boss. That must be a relief.

Well, things are getting really hard cardio wise. I'm not sure how I can modify any more than I already have.(4"step and no "lifting" or jumping). We have a stationary bike, but I get so bored on that. I did the Wedding Video cardio and that felt really good, so I think I will do that at least once a week. Nice and basic and slow.

Anyway, my week:

Thursday 31-PS CST, 20 min stationary bike
Friday 1-The Wedding Video cardio
Saturday 2-PSLA (no floorwork or abs), 30 min stationary bike
Sunday 3-PS BBA, 35 min stationary bike
Today-Body Max, sections 1 and 2*
Tomorrow-Cardio and Weights**
Wednesday-REST:7 .

*This will be my last time doing any Body Max during my pregnancy.
**I did C and W last week for the first time. It was fun,but it was also a little too intense. I will try tomorrow because it is on my rotation, but it will be my last time doing it as well until I am post-partum.

Take care!

Maggie

Maggie,
You may want to try some firms. Of course you need to slow down. Being 2 weeks behind you, I've watched your workouts with awe. I've been finding my firm workouts just enough during pregnancy, and you can always lighten the weights, and many of the workouts are short.

Kathy, you will also be in my prayers. I had some spotting earlier in my pregnancy & we opted not to go public until the middle of last week (at week 15). I can't tell you how awesome it has been that I've been able to get support here at Cathe. My friends here knew well before much of my family!

Maggie, you have been doing so incredibly wonderful! You deserve a cardio break. Maybe go on some walks? I think the FIRM's would be good...but I don't know if they'd be worth the investment this late into the preganancy. My local library has them for loan, maybe that would be an option. Then again, noone would blame you if you wanted to take the month off of cardio. You deserve it!!

My belly is beginning to pop out a little. It's a good think I told everyone last week! My clothes are beginning to get uncomfortable. I"m not ready (emotionally) for maternity clothes yet. I got a cute pair of maternity jean capris & they kept on slipping off my hips when I wore them around the house. Maybe I'm in that in between stage. I can still wear my stretchy clothes.

Just out of curiousity, when have you ladies graduated into your maternity clothes?

Maggie, if you opt for some FIRM workouts, pick them up on ebay. I can't seem to find my copy of the FIRM's not so tough aerobic tape, but I know I have it and I did it last pregnancy every other day and I did Francesca Gerns weights III videos on the alternate days, right up to the day of delivery. It is not too long I believe like 35-40 minutes, just enough cardio and enough variation to keep me going. I'd love to know of any other suggestions for firm tapes (I hate even going back to them, but "IT'S COMING"). Can't imagine how it's going to hurt when I get the Body Blast DVD and I'm a balloon - we can give some interest reviews in open forum after attempting them :p :p :p !!

Melanie - I do not graduate into pregnancy clothes....I put them on with much complaining, kicking and screaming. (I just hate getting so big). I've in the last week pulled out the maternity box and tried on the jeans and for some reason - I can't stand them coming way up to my chest (you know that front panel) I'm opting for the low cut jeans that I can still button under my belly, so far they feel fine and I don't look to bad. My stomach has really popped out in the last week or two and I'm at 21 weeks completed tomorrow. It will probably depend on your wardrobe. I don't have "fitted type" dresses and I like baggy jeans so this seems to work.

Briee

Hi everyone,
Thank you for the suggestions. As I was looking at what others were doing, I was thinking that it might be good to have something other than very intense Cathe workouts. All I have right now is her and tae bo (which is completely out of the question, round house kicks? yah, like about knee high:p :p ). I think the library suggestion is a good one. I just spent over $200 on Cathe stuff (you know, quantity discounts and no shipping:) ) and promised my husband that I now had enough videos to last for over a years worth of rotations without getting bored. I've promised him that I won't spend any more money on videos for a looong time. I guess I could check e bay and if I could get them really cheaply, maybe he would let me go for it...

Melanie, I have been wearing maternity clothes almost since I knew I was pregnant. I am roughly the size of a house right now and am enduring twin and even triplet comments almost daily. Boy, I wonder what I would look like if I did ever have twins:eek:

Maggie

Well, my uterus was definitely back to it's preg-pregnancy size. My last pregnancy was roughly 10 years ago. I was hoping to wait for 6 mos before maternity clothes. Wishful thinking I guess. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is not envious of the "getting bigger" part of pregnancy!!!

In terms of firm videos, some I owned and the rest I got through swaps on videofitness or firmyayas at ezboard.com. I find firms great even nonpregnant since I up the weights and always add power where I can.

I dealt with the maternity clothes issue. By month 4, my maternity bottoms were great since they were tighter fitting bottoms and I bought petite size. Tops were huge, especially since I am barely 5 feet tall. For months 3-6 1/2 I bought larger size tops, mostly at thrift stores. In terms of comfort, my best purchase was motherhood maternity shorts that fit under the stomache. They still fit and don't restrict my stomache. I find the elastics in most maternity clothes dig into my stomache. It is actually easier to dress now at 33 weeks, looking obviously pregnant and fitting into maternity clothes. Boy did I buy alot of maternity clothes, wonder why I named myself shopaholic. On a side note, bought some great clothes on ebay.

Hi all, thank you for your prayers!
There are some other videos that are just cardio that work well as far as less intense. Kari Anderson Fitness Formula is a good one as well as Keli Roberts Ultimate Step. They are old, but I like to do them on a day I want to do something, just not as intense as normal.
As far as maternity clothes go, I think with my first sone I was in them by the third month, I was excited about it then. This time I'm hoping to go a bit longer without them. I have heard that women tend to get bigger the second time around. I'm hoping that won't hold true for me since I'm working out this time. But I guess we'll see!

My mom & grandma are constantly mailing me packages of clothes they get at garage sale for the baby and me. I"m so blessed! I just looked over my maternity inventory. It seems to me a if I poked out last night during my sleep (or should I say lack of sleep b/c of my FIVE bathroom trips?!?!?). I bought a couple of items early on at Motherhood factory outlet store. I wish I would have waited, b/c they have a no return policy, & I tend to dress real plain & I got duplicates at garage sales (and from family). I"d have to say I'm at an acward stage, b/c the maternity clothes just slip off of me & my normal clothes are tight. I guess I tend to wear my form fitting clothes. I don't want to spend any $ on maternity bottoms for the summer when I'm due in Jan!!! Whine, whine, whine!!! I know it!

While I'm on a role, I went to the dentist today & my month is sooooo sore. My gums are so swollen that I've been unable to shut my mouth completely in 5+ hours! Ouch! Them hormones!!!!

It is a pregnant woman's perogative to whine. But seriously, you are in an awkward stage for clothes. But, before you know it those maternity clothes will start fitting. But, be aware of motherhood maternity, you only get 10 days to return, and then only for credit. I got into quite an argument with the sales person over this. Oh, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one going to the bathroom 5 times a night. I'm temporarily living with in laws on second floor of their house where there is no bathroom. Must walk down to first floor, wonder how many calories I've burned?
