Uh oh Maggie, sounds like the baby has droped!! You may be closer than you think to actually meeting your new bundle of joy!
Oh wow, am I tired these last couple of days. I hope this goes away soon, yeah, right! I still have 6 weeks of the first trimester to go.
Those of you that have been working out during your pregnancies, have you found that it is keeping you from gaining a whole bunch of weight? I haven't gained anything yet, and am hoping that I won't gain too much with this pregnancy. The last one I put on 40 lbs, of course lost 25 after giving birth, but those 15 weren't fun to look at afterwards! I am hoping to only have to lose about 10 or so this time. What have your experiences been like?

Well, I would love to have an early baby, but I have always given birth right around my due date (give or take a couple of days). But I'm thinking that I'd better get a bag packed just in case.

As far as weight gain is concerned, I have put on way less this time than my other four pregnancies. (65, 65, 65, and 80x( ). I worked out for the first 3 (not Cathe, I went to the gym and I don't believe I ever worked as hard during pregnancy as I have this time). I lost the weight the first 3 times. Baby number 4 was diagnosed with a heart defect at around 20 weeks. I was given permission to excercise, but I was so freaked out that I was scared to move--big mistake. I also ate all the time, hence the outrageous weight gain. Because of difficulties during his first year and a knee injury, I was not able to excercise regularly and so I started this pregnancy about 30 lbs overweight--bummer, but again doing Cathe workouts and attempting to watch what I eat (I'm not very good at this during pregnancy because I get so ravenously hungry), I have gained about 40 lbs and have maintained my weight for a couple of weeks. 40 lbs is good for me, I was terrified of gaining 65 or 80 this time. Anyway, sorry for being so wordy. That is my experience. Many of the ladies on the board have been quite successful at gaining a lot less than me, so hopefully they will share with you as well.

Take care

4 weeks, 3 days and counting!

I definetely feel exercise has kept my weight in check as well as giving me extra energy. As of last doctor's visit at week 32 I had gained 16 pounds. I may have actually gained 18 though, since I switched doctors and I am using the weight on record for when I was one month pregnant, but if I recall I gained only a few pounds my whole first trimester. I lucked out with no morning sickness and have exercised from 6-7 days a week the whole pregnancy. I should add I watch what I eat, but eat constantly and have my sweets in moderation.

Last time I checked, I've gained 5 pounds so far. My stomach began to poke out about 2 days ago...so I should re-weight myself. I'm a little scared. I"m determined to stay within the 25-35lb guideline. I gained about 6-7lbs early on when I was too nauseus to workout, but then I lost a couple of lbs when I was able to pick up with the workoouts.

Maggie, only four weeks to go, I'm just so excited for you......that's really close!!! You have to record every detail of those last few days (if you feel like it of course!!). My dh and I took Bradley classes the first pregnancy and it was so fun to discuss things with the other couples....I feel like this forum has become a real support and there is just something special about going through it together. (now I'm getting into the "pregnancy emotional gushy stuff" - so sorry).

With my first four babies I gained 60 pounds (all of them) and I'm only a hair short of 5'3 with a pretty small frame so this kind of weight gain was immense for me. I can remember my knees and back aching and feeling "exactly" like what a whale must feel. My daughter affectionately calls me a "DUGONG" which is another name for a manitee. It really did fit!! With baby number 5, I began working out, although not Cathe, and I went vegatarian and boy was it different. I gained about 33 pounds and felt great. I'm about 2 pounds over what I was before at this point which drives me crazy...I know this is silly!! I've gained about 14 pounds so far and I actually put on about 5 pounds right before I got pregnant. I think the heavy lifting gives me more of an appetite this time.

Shopaholic.....wow you have really kept your weight down...I'm hoping my energy level continues to return so I can work out a little harder, this has been a good week. Sorry to ramble.

Briee,
Don't worry. I spend some time on these forums each day and I'm sure I'll do quite a bit of venting;) . The last month is always the hardest for me and I am sure everyone here at home gets tired of hearing about it.

It's funny about your daughter calling you a "dugong". My little girls (4 and 6) occasionally watch me exercise and say things like, "Wow, mommy, you are so nice and fat " (or "plump and juicy", which I like better:) ). Once my four year old said matter of factly, "Mommy, those ladies (referring to Cathe and crew) have skinny legs. You have fat ones." I have to laugh. For one thing it's true and for another thing neither one of them realizes yet that being fat is undesirable, so they aren't being disrespectful, just saying it like they see it.

Also, it sounds like you are doing really well with your weight gain.

Melani and Shopaholic--I too am impressed! You will be much happier people than I (at least weight wise) when you have your little bundles of joy. I, however, will have about 50 lbs to losex( .
