Cathlete
Cathe,
I would like to get your help with my husband's workout rotation. I got his basic weekly regimen, and I would like to see what needs to change to help him reach his goals.
3 X's Week: Biceps curls & hammercurls, Overhead Triceps extensions, Lateral raises, Pulldowns.
Every Other workout-day: Bench Press, Seated butterfly(machine), tricep machine(press down), and pulldowns.
Legs- Military Press, seated rows, quads (on machine), Squat machine, pulldowns. Also, biceps curl machine.
He will do either 3 sets of 6 reps -maxing out on weight each set or 3 sets of 8 reps @ 75% of maximum weight.
He usually works out 3 to 5 days per week. For Cardio, we walk 2 miles at the park 5-6 nights a week, or he will do 20 minutes on the treadmill of walking/running.
His goal is to lose the bicycle tire he is carrying around his center. Also, he wants to increase his overall muscle mass. The strange thing is that he is very strong, but the definition isn't what he would like. I tell him he needs to up his cardio & its intensity to lose around his midsection and get the definition. But, he says any time he does more cardio, he loses muscle. Can you help us? He is extremely motivated, (USMC training will do that I guess) -He just needs to know what direction to go in. He doesn't like cardio workout tapes, but he does like running. He also likes your kickbox tape.
Please let me know if you can suggest any modifications to his routine. I want to help him reach his goals, because He supports Me sooo much. And I know he'll listen to you.
Thanks, sorry this is soo long.
