WORKOUT Friday 07/23

Dutchie42

Cathlete
It was a misty morning and 16C (60F). Ran 6K in 41:04 today. Fastest 6K ever for me.

Started off slowly with HR155. Then after 1K increased speed to HR165. Unfortunately, 500meters later I was at a total stop cause Rover disappeared on me. After about 2 minutes he came back and I put him on the leash. As Rover was ever so slightly pulling me, I ran with HR170. The last 1K I stopped to let Rover go again and slowed down to HR 155. At the last 300 meters I accelerated every second lantern post going up the overpass. Boy was that hard.

I guess it was a tempo run?

Maybe I should have Rover on the leash more often, cause he makes me run faster:) And I would avoid all the stops to call him back which would make me faster :)

Have a great day. Hope it cools down a bit for you Carole.

Hi Dutchie....I think it got to 108 yesterday....so I am not even going to check the forecast today... x( That sounds like a good time for a 6K and yes, I would consider that a tempo style run. Just give yourself a break and don't do those everyday! Maybe on the runs you want to get a faster time you should leave Rover on the leash so he doesn't disappear...and yes he could be helping alot, but I still think that could help you in the long run to increase your speed.

I was reading your post yesterday about the Dam to Dam run and one thing to also keep in mind is not to go out too fast as that can wear you out for the last part. I have not done a run where you have certain times to get to certain spots. That is just a bit more pressure..:)...and no I don't mind if you scream...:)....timed runs can do that! I think you will do fine this Sunday to benchmark the distance, try not to worry and have a relaxing day Saturday to prepare your body. Let me know how it goes....and I almost forgot...today I am running 4 miles after P90X Legs & Back....have a good day ladies...:)...carole

Imax2

I figured after my whining in my thread about meno weight, I needed to shut up and get a sweat worked up.

I am such a klutz on step work--esp Imax 2.......:+

I live in fear that my DH or 18 yr old son will videotape me and send it to Funniest home videos. :7

Oh, ---ad to that I will be doing a balance ball ab workout of my own, and walk doggie 2 miles tonight, since it's cooler out.

Really quick, I did S&H Biceps and selected bicep work off of PSBB&A and abs only off of that one too.:7
Sorry gotta run!!!

Oh my....what a bad thought about someone videotaping when you workout....I am sure my DH never would do that....:)...Carole
