working out with DOMS

Cathlete
I did a lower body workout last night and I'm pretty sure that I'm still going to have DOMS in my glutes tomorrow. Now I know not to do lower body strength training again with DOMS, but I'm wondering about doing kickboxing tomorrow. I know I will feel it in my glutes when I do the kickboxing, so is that bad? I'm having to do low impact workouts right now due to foot pain, so kickboxing is what I've been doing instead of the higher impact workouts, so that's why I want to specifically do kickboxing tomorrow rather than another type of Cathe cardio workout that might not put as much strain on the glutes as kickboxing. Should I go ahead and do it?

Thanks,
Amy

I think cardio is good to do with muscle soreness. I had DOMS from STS Legs (did that Wednesday) and still did my IMAX 2 workout last night. I was a bit tight at the beginning, but everything loosened up about halfway through and today - no DOMS at all! I say, go for it! I just wouldn't do weight training.

I agree with Tricia! I did STS legs on Wednesday and did SC 30/30 and a treadmill walk yesterday and my legs feel better for it.

Thanks for the replies!

Cardio is not a bad idea. It should be ok. Maybe a stretch session and a bath too. Can you do walking for your cardio?

Hmmm...I could go snowshoeing for my cardio. Maybe I'll do that. I'm not so much thinking that I shouldn't do cardio with sore glutes I was just thinking about side kicks and the hammer down, squat things that Cathe does in kickboxing because they involve the glutes more. It sounds like it should be fine though.

I know you don't want to do strength training with DOMS, but I don't actually know the reasoning behind this. Can anyone explain it?
