Work Cubicle Decorating Ideas

Tamster

Cathlete
Well...it finally happened. We recently moved into new office space and yes...we have been CUBISIZED! I am trapped in a gray square 7 1/2 hours/day...AND they covered up the gorgeous windows with our wonderfully new gray desks/cubicles.

Do y'all have any decorating ideas to help spruce up my dull gray cubicle?

Oh no, Tammy, that stinks!

You can find fantastic art and photography prints (and everyday posters) of all sizes from www.allposters.com. They have been running a 20% off sale lately. One or two of those might brighten up the grayness. Or perhaps one of those French memo boards might be a nice touch. If you have the room, a big plant might liven up the area as well. I think scent contributes to the "homey-ness" of a space, and I just love the Yankee candle plug-ins, esp. the Home Sweet Home scent.

I'm sure you'll get great ideas and will transform the dullness to a bright and cheery space to work.

I would say colorful plants. If you have children, they could draw/paint you some pictures. If you like quotes or sayings, you could hang those around you, too.

Ahhh, welcome to cubicleland, Tammy! I've been a resident for over 6 years now. I have all sorts of random decorations, including, but not limited to:

[ul]
[li]my Harry Potter calendar
[li]engagement picture AND wedding picture of me and DH
[li]picture of my cats :)
[li]various stress-relief squeezy toys - a tractor, a diesel engine, a ball and a star
[li]a scale model of an underground wheel loader
[li]a stuffed hedgehog wearing a yellow safety helmet (don't ask)
[li]a stuffed My Little Pony
[li]a picture of Limecat (not Shelley, but the actual cat with the lime on its head)
[li]a postcard from Shelley's DD
[li]cube people http://www.radicagames.com/cubeworld/index.php
[li]my 6 Sigma green belt
[/ul]

I have a sad, sad cubicle. :p

I think I would like a cubicle to call my own. I have a cupboard. In the darkroom. In the corner. Where it's dark.

THANKS to all for the suggestions...I can't wait to decorate my little cubicle :)

(((ROBIN)))...awwww...I'm so sorry...did you ever see Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella with Leslie Ann Warren? Well these lyrics are for you:

In my own little corner in my own little chair
I can be whatever I want to be
On the wing of my fancy I can fly anywhere
and the world will open it's arms to me
I'm a young egyptian princess or a milkmaid
I'm the greatest prima donna in Milan
I'm a heiress who has always had her silk made
by her own flock of silkworms in Japan
I'm a girl men go mad for love's a game I can play
with a cool and confident kind of air
Just as long as I stay in my own little corner
All alone, in my own, little chair.

Tammy,
I think you'll have to post a picture for us when you're done.

Emily,
I don't have a cubicle, but I smiled when I read your list as I have a bunch of bizarre items on/in my desk area:
[ul]
[li type=square] a Magic 8 ball (for making all major life decisions)
[li type=square] a plush Wienermobile
[li type=square] an Oscar the Grouch stuffed animal
[li type=square] a Poe stuffed animal
[li type=square] a Homer bobblehead
[li type=square] assorted photos of family & friends and one of myself skydiving
[li type=square] an engraved desk clock given to me by a former student
[li type=square] a lucky bamboo plant
[li type=square] a rock (given by an administrator when I first began teaching to mark the "milestone" - the kids never understand why I have a rock sitting there)
[/ul]
