Words of Advice (from a stupid clumsy woman)

Melody - oh I'm so sorry! That had to have hurt! Hope you're okay and the tree survived! One year my kitten ran up a tree and in trying to "rescue" her, I fell into the tree, knocking it and the kitten down and breaking numerous ornaments. My DD was 3 or 4 at the time and found it quite amusing. At least your DS's are concerned - but I do know what you mean - poor things.

But I do have to admit, I was chuckling too! You wrote it so well! *Raises wine glass* Here's to a speedy recovery for all and a reminder that you SIT on barstools... (I've had then shoot out from under me when I was sitting on them!)

You poor dear mommy!! Glad you are okay..and I think you hve given some sound words of advice! I was almost in a similar situation...My DD and I got back a few weeks ago from a trip overseas to visit my DH...we got back late at night after a 13 hour plus layover flight and we were totally wiped! As I head off to bed I hear a fire alarm sounding that annoying warning beep when the batteries are almost dead...at first I can't figure out which one it is (I'll save you the details of the multiple changes of batteries before I figured out which one it was!) I discover it is the alarm in the guest bedroom which has a cathedral ceiling. The alarm is at the very top. I didn't want to drag in the tall ladder we have (didn't want to wake DD)..so I decided to put a bar stool on top of the dresser in hopes of reaching the alarm. Keep in mind I had not slept for about 36 hours at this point and was not thinking clearly. As I start to climb up this contraption I have built (with let me add, one leg of the stool slightly hanging off the side of the dresser), my dog walks in and looks at me like I have lost my mind. My sweet dog is not known for her brains...but the look on her face let me know this was probably not the best idea I had lately. I climbed down and closed the door to the room so that we couldn't hear the beeps...Saved by the dog!

I hope your sons don't have nightmares tonight! Happy decorating!

Oh Melody, I love you. And I miss you.

ETA: By the way, by calling yourself a stupid clumsy woman, are you saying you are a dunce?

ETA: And dunce ever do that again!

BTW, I'm about to hang garland on the stairway railings and along the loft railings, over the fireplace and window seat...I promise to NOT stand on anything but a ladder. :7

And thank you all for asking, I'm fine.

Melody~ We just put up our tree and I could not keep your tree antics out of my mind....putting up our tree seemed so...well...boring compared to the bang out time y'all had in GA;) :7 .

I hope your are okay...and BE CAREFUL hanging all that garland. I can't wait to see pix!
