Wisdom Teeth Percocet or Vicodin ?

Just so you are aware, you can take ibuprofen with percocet and/or vicodin. Sometimes, adding some ibuprofen w/the narcotic helps get the pain under control. However, you should avoid Tylenol as it is already in the narcotics he is taking, you don't want any liver damage. Good luck!

Hi Catherine

He seems to be doing better. I took him off the percocet yesterday, and put him on the vicodin. I guess he likes the percocet! Vicodin made him grumpy, and he didn't want to eat. By the time I got home from a long day out of town, he was back to being a bear, which I am sure was partially because he didn't take any of the ibuprofen I laid out for him.... arrrgh - Do you get the feeling sometimes that people intentionally make choices to create an undesirable circumstance? (i.e. not eating + not taking pain meds = anxious/irritable teen!)

On another note, I did speak, at length with my friend the acupuncturist. We were having such a good time catching up we almost forgot to schedule an appt.! She is wiling to see him at her house on Friday, her day off!!!! :) Which is a reminder to me it is always a good idea to nurture friendships. :D

P.S. Thanks becky, if you are reading this, the ibuprofen tip was just what I needed, really. It did take the edge off and reduced swelling. Please post more frequently if you can, I am sure others would love your input!

Man, you guys are lucky ducks! All they gave me were some 1000 mg Motrin! :) That is Navy docs for you! Motrin is a cure all in their eyes! :)

The DS is awake now and only took ibuprofen and tylenol ! He said - "nah, no thanks" to the Vicodin. (yeah). He is now eating food and is being much more relational and even funny. Funny is how he usually is, so this is a great sign.

So - I can happily say he is on the mend. He had tons of questions about acupuncture, and it seem like he is looking forward to his treatment tomorrow. :)
