Winter boot shopping

This year I could really use a new pair of bad-weather boots that I can wear to the office, with suits and stuff, that will get me through the rain, sleet, light-to-medium snowfalls we have around here. Everything I see online is very casual-looking. Does anyone know of a brand of boot that they can recommend? Does anyone here have boots by La Canadienne? If so, what do you think?
