Will the CTX series give me the cardio-duration I need?

I'm trying to decide which tape(s) to buy next. I love the idea of the CTX series because you get your cardio and weight workouts in one session, but I'm concerned that the cardio portions are too short. I typically like to do about 45 minutes of cardio - whether running, step, or aerobics. This may be a stupid question, but do the cardio sections in the CTX series really provide an intense, challenging cardio workout - enough to be your cardio workout on a daily basis?

Thanks for any suggestions/recommendations.

This may not answer your question about whether the CTX series will give you the cardio-duration you need, but I just purchased the CTX series and I am loving the ability to mix and match the workouts, including the cardio portions. For example, just last night, I did the Kickbox workout, felt that I could go longer and switched to the 10-10-10 and did the Kickbox from that tape. Certainly, it will depend on your time constraints, but I love the ability to mix and match and go longer if you desire. I will say that I have the series on DVD which makes it easier to switch between sections. I love the series, and have not been using the weight sections exclusively yet. Hopefully, others can give their feedback as to whether it's enough cardio alone. But I still feel I need more cardio to achieve some fat loss. Sorry so long!...

The CTX series are intense throughout the entire workout whereas some longer workouts are not intense throughout the entire workout. So in my opinion they are a good workout. They are great if you really need to get a workout in but are limited on time. It is also fun to combine tapes and do 2 different cardios. I will usually add the all kickbox tape onto the end of one of the others.

I really like these tapes for their intensity and also because they are shorter there isn't alot of breakdown in the moves. You just go. Definately not boring (but none of Cathes tapes are boring).

I think studies are showing that short intense workouts are just as beneficial as a long moderate workout.

It's a great bargain...

especially if you have a DVD player because, as the others have already said, you can mix and match and make your own workout to fit your time and schedule. You can still do this with the VHS set too..it's just easier with the DVD.

You can't beat this set if you are starting out with Cathe. The strength is on the lighter/endurance side of things. They are done so you can do one part a day or as many sections as you want. Right now I'm doing the Upper body Split/Legs rotaion and it's wonderful. As far as the cardios go...the 1/2 hour segments are certainly tough..heck..it's Cathe;-) but you can easily add on other sections from other tapes if you want more...and you get a great variety of Cathes cardios...samples of KB, circuit, intervals, classic step..you just can't beat it.
