Will I lose muscle tone after two weeks of not working ...

I injured myself last monday (while lifting) and decided to only do cardio for the rest of the 4 days (I normally lift 3 out of 5 days), and now I’m sick so I haven’t done anything at all in 5 days (I haven’t done any lifting in 10 days total.) I was going to start back up today but I’m still very sick and I’m having a hard time breathing because my nose and head are so congested. Am I going to lose a lot of my muscle tone if I start back up on Monday? … that will be 14 days of no lifting. I’ve worked so hard to get the little muscle tone I have… I don’t want to lose it because of two bad weeks!

Hi Daryl! Rest is the best thing you can do if you are injured and sick. Your body will only breakdown further if you lift. You will not lose hard earned muscle that fast. You will perhaps notice a dip in your stamina, that's all. After three days back in the groove it will all come back....and stronger (as long as you are fully repaired and free of your cold) :7

Take care of yourself!
