Why can't I wear heels?!

I am on my feet ALL day at work and I had both my feet operated on 20 years ago so I am very picky about what I wear on my feet...I only wear Dansko shoes and clogs for work. I've tried so many shoes and always ended up in pain by the end of the day until I found these. I own at least 11 pairs. They also have professional looking shoes with heels. I have never once come home with aching feet since I started wearing them and I actually even prefer them over sneakers for comfort and support! (They come in European sizes.)

I LOVE Dansko clogs! 11 pairs--wow! I thought I was being obsessive. I have 4 pair, though two of them are so old and beaten to death that I am ashamed to wear them out of the house. I've foudn that Dansko clogs are the only shoes I can wear when I have to do long walks around the city on concrete--they stop the shock of hitting that hard surface from hurting my knees and back.

I guess I shouldn't have spent money on heels and just have found another pair of Dansko. Haven't tried their shoes yet, though.

Some very comfy brands with really pretty dressy, healed shoes are:

Matisse
Aerosoles
Cole Haan
Donald J Pliner

I am all about comfort, but I love to dress up my jeans and skirts with pretty heels. All of the above are comfortable enough to wear all day long.

And Marie is right, you are going to have to spend some money to get shoes that are made good enough to be comfortable. Just about the only exception to the rule is Aerosoles. Those are very reasonable.

Thanks for the suggestions--I think I'm goibgn to return the Aerosoles I bought (they hurt a bit at the straps) and look for Dansko shoes.

By the way, two days after wearing my heels, my feet *still* hurt.

Try rolling each foot on a tennis ball for about a minute (standing up, with foot on ball, make short little back-and-forth rolls, gradually making your way from front to back). This can help loosen up the fascia (also, if you try to touch the floor before and after doing this, you might find that just this simple move allows you to go deeper).

Yeah, LOL, those Danskos are addicting once you start wearing them. No other shoe (or sneaker for that matter) can compete for comfort. They may not be prettiest, but they are absolute heaven once you find your size:)

I tried the Easy Spirit....Aerosole route too and that didn't work for me either;) and yes, as Nancy says, everyones feet are different.

Good Luck:) Hope you have Happy feet soon!!

Just an update on this: I found some Dansko shoes at the local store today--tried on the "Babette" style. Wow!! They're so unbelievably comfortable! I've never put on a pair of heels that felt like that before, much less shoes that were that comfy. Of course, they're also kind of ugly from the side, but I figure I can get away with wearing them with a dress to the client as long as I don't turn to the side. }( Am shopping online for them now--the store only had them in black and I'm considering blue. Now that I know that Dansko makes shoes, though, I may never go back. My only problem is I'm trying to justify buying them. I already have the one pair of heels, though they're too painful to actually walk around in..but still, I wear flats and carry the heels and pop them on for client meetings. So do I actually need another pair of heels?
