Who would be interested.......

Okay, I did it. I have completed a 47 min cardio work out. I can't remember that last time I did cardio this early in the day. I usually procrastinate, then before you know it it's 11 PM. Boy, it feels good to have that out of the way!

>Congratulations, Michele!!!! I won't say anything else.

Awwwwww Shannon. I don't mind. But you know, if I get good at this cardio business, I may have to hunt you down and kick your butt--LOL!

Hmm, shouldn't you have to give more detail than that, or do we assume you drove to the pharmacy and back???

;-)

You guys are merciless! Okay, I did a 47 min hi/lo with Michelle Dozois and it was hard--for me anyway.

I hate cardio too and would love to join in. I don't mind weight lifting, but cardio just kills me. I "enjoy" Cathe step workouts now (more than I enjoy being on a treadmill) but I can't usually finish the workouts and tend to make excuses when cardio is scheduled for the day. I recently decided that I was going to start running again and eventually participate in a 5K in order to motivate myself (and hopefully longer races down the road). When I was in law school, I ran about 3 miles 3 times a week and my legs looked the best ever. I started a walk/run program this past weekend which should enable me to run for 30 minutes straight in 10 weeks. The plan calls for me running 4 times a week for 30 minutes and I want to add one Imax per week. I figure that if I slowly build up my cardio capacity and it becomes easier to is do cardio, I will enjoy it more.

Today's plan after work (if it is not too dark) is a 30 min walk/run and some core work and walking lunges.

Okay everybody, I do seriously hate cardio, but I'm also SERIOUS about the "I HATE CARDIO" check in. I'm hoping it will provide real motivation for me and others that have a problem with consistently doing the cardio portion of their work out. Have all the fun you want in this thread, but stsarting tomorrow, the "I HATE CARDIO" thread is to be a place for support and encouragement for those of us who wouldn't do cardio otherwise.

Please, anyone who'd rather clean tile grout with a toothbrush than do cardio, join us. We'll get through it together;)

Dianet, I'm thrilled you're joining in. The more the merrier. They say misery loves company, right?

I completely understand your situation. Cardio kills me, too. I have problems with my left hip, and I'm really uncoordinated. I trip all over myself if the choreography is even remotely complicated. I used to walk outside a lot, but I have such terrible seasonal allergies anymore that I can't breathe.

The goal for me is just to do something 5 or 6 days a week. I really need it. I'm operating on the principle that the best workout is the one you'll do--LOL!

I'm SO with you Michele!!! For some reason I've given myself "permission" to stop cardio-ing 30 min into my workouts. I really need to push it to 40 or 45.

SO..I'm Ellen, and I'm a cardio hater. I'd love to join your check-in.!

:)

Ellen, I'm really happy that you'll be joining us for the check-in. More is better!

Melody, thank you for being such a great cheerleader!
