Cathlete
in an "I Hate Cardio" check in? C'mon now, I know I'm not the only one who would rather scrub a bathroom than do five minutes of anything that has the word BLAST in it. Let's face it, summer is nearly upon us and I know there is no hope for me and my bod unless I invest some time in the sweat bank.

Ya with me?

Michele:D ;(

OOOO! Can I be a coach? I'll pop in a couple of times a day wearing fatigues and saying things like "Let's get going, you cardio-hating maggots!!" and "What are you, a little girl?! JUMP HIGHER!!!"

Anything I can do to help, really. :p

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage

Shannon and all you cardio lovers, you just stay out of here--LOL!.

I second that!!! Stay away!!!!!

Seriously though, I would love to join you Michelle. I am not an IMAX type of person so don't even go there.

My cardio for today is a 3.5 mile walk. Since I"m back at work, I'll be doing this everyday. Takes me 50 minutes and I have 10 minutes to eat my lunch.

What about you Michelle?

I'm in - I hate cardio. I used to like Spinning class, but I'm not a gym member anymore. Although I will admit, I just purchased and this weekend did KPC for the first time. Loved it. So fun - and that is definitely cardio. But I still, generally speaking, don't like cardio. I avoid it all the time (hence my still not meeting my goals). Argh.
However, I will have to say I would rather do cardio than scrub the bathroom (or any other variety of housework). The only thing I hate more than cardio is housework!

Sparrow,

You are NOT nice---LOL! I knew I was gonna get slammed! I just KNEW it. But that's okay. I can take it. I wasn't elected the Mayor of Weenie Town based on my good looks.

Michele:)

I could use someone in my face to get me motivated to do Imax 2 again or any other cardio. I really don't like cardio, I would rather lift or squat! Anyone is welcome to "scream" at me anytime!!!!! No dares though, please!!! LOL!

Charlotte~~

Dana,

Welcome to the "I HATE CARDIO" check in. You have nothing to fear in here. I couldn't do a Cathe step DVD if my life depended on it. I will be doing Walk Your Way Slim with Michelle Dozois. It's just plain nasty outside here today. It's been raining for days and is supposed to continue that way, so I am relagated to indoor activity.

Glad to have you!! I've thought about kickboxing but I am so uncoordinated. I've tried the Kathy Smith kickboxing video and I really sucked at it. For me, think basic, verrrrrrrrry basic.

Michele

Oh my...leave it to you!:+ I can't beleive that you thought of this. This is hiliarious! But you do whatever you have to do to make you love cardio.I bet next year you will be running your first 1/2 marathon:) :)
Lori:)

LOL!!!!! Michele, you crack me up!!!!!!!!!

If you need some help losing shedding some weight for the pool, I am sure that I have some things that you could do around my house! :p

Missy

Wow, Dana! You've set the bar high for our first day. Well, I'm going to have to get going here or I'll never get mine done. I don't want to have to do another 11 PM w/o--LOL!

Michele, I am thinking you are looking for an intervention here!!

When I worked out at the gym, I used to hate cardio. I thought the machines were boring, boring, boring, and there was no way I could psych myself up to do more than 20 minutes on the treadmill or bike. The elliptical made me seasick and the Stairmaster was designed by a descendant of the Marquis de Sade, I was convinced. Also, the gym I used was a company gym, so the "classes" were taught by two very blonde bobbleheads who never used more than five pounds and whose step "class" seemed to consist primarily of basic step ups to the nth degree. There was also a Yoga class with a strange instructor who would float by in her orange robes. She shut the blinds so we couldn't see what was going on in there, but I was convinced they didn't do anything but hum "Kumbaya" and eat granola.

But then I discovered Cathe!!! You really need to try her step workouts. Break down and buy the "Basic Step" workout which will walk you through all of the moves and launch you on your new career as a step-ho. :)

Seriously, though, what about the pool? Can you do laps? Or water aerobics? Or toss youngsters? There must be something...

Marie, you are too funny! I HAVE Cathe's Basic Step DVD. I get dizzy trying to do all those around the world thingy's. Actually, I have a gimpy hip and it bothers me when I step up. I'm scared to death of water (nearly drowned when I was a kid and have never gotten over it), I don't have kids to toss, though there are a few in the neighborhood that I wouldn't mind tossing from here to Timbuktu}( .

I'm a hard case, Marie. You name it...I can probably give you a reason why I can't do it. I prefer basic hi/lo or walking DVD's that won't confuse me with alot of complex choreography.

Edited to add that at the end of the day, I just don't LIKE cardio workouts. I don't mind weight training, but cardio kills me!
