Who created the leg press?

actually, hardcore weight lifters decades ago did step ups on a weight bench holding a barbell. i remember someone posting about this months ago with a link to the article

I figured it out during the last set of leg presses in Muscle Endurance. They were invented somewhere down below where its very hot all the time! Just kidding!:)

I would guess that some Romanian strength training coach invented them. But that's just a guess. As for video workouts, the Firm has been using leg presses for many years in their workouts.

The leg press is actually known as a "step up" in bodybuilding lingo. "Leg press" more commonly refers to the seated leg presses you do on a machine. I was intrigued by this question, so I found the following links for your consideration. First, the one that tells me I have the above information correct ... just in case ... LOL!!

The second one is something I finally found which actually gives some history of the step-up. Kind of interesting!

i "heard", that Anna Benson (a.k.a. firm/fitprime) witnessed olympic gymnasts doing the leg press and thats where it was adapted for the firm workouts. Dont know if this infos true

I don't know if it's true either or not, but it would make sense. The original Firms first introduced the tall box and leg press somewhere around 1990, when Volume III (now it has another name!!) came out.
