Hi! I'm a pretty avid exerciser, and I've just discovered Cathe. I've been doing the Firm videos for years, along with Step Reebok and Charlene Prickett, mostly. I'd like to take it up a notch, and came across Cathe. I'm just wondering which videos would be the best to start with. Any suggestions?

It all depends on what exactly you are looking for.I started of with Body MAx b/c I had seen it in a magazine and didn't know what other videos there were.It took me a little while to get use to this video.(the intensity)
That could be a good one for you to start with. You alredy workout so it is not like you are out of shape. This video will give you idea of what she is like in cardio, and weights. And it is a really good work out.Other then that it may be best to preview them and then you can see what interest you personnally.
Rythmic Step is probably to difficult to start of with.IMax,you need to work yourself up to this one.Or you could try one of the CTX series to.There short but sweet.

p.s they are all good tapes,in my opinon, whatever one you get will be good.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-16-02 AT 04:48PM (Est)[p]I just started working out with Cathe. I received my CTX DVD this Tuesday, previewed it and did Step Intervals the following day. I find the DVD version great to work with when trying to learn the steps, coz you can keep replaying until you get the steps. I was kinda hesitant to purchase it coz of the price but when I previewed it, I was so glad I did and have no regrets, and you get 6 great workouts with 2 bonuses, the all abs and upper body workout). So far, I've already done Step Intervals (still have to learn most of the steps), enjoyed Power Circuit yesterday and had fun with 10-10-10 today. Tomorrow, I am scheduled to do Kickbox. CTX has gotten me so motivated. Thanks everyone for recommending CTX to me. I think this is a great Cathe series to start with.

Hi Lynda :)

Welcome to Cathe .. boy you're in for a real ride!! :)

I too was an advanced exerciser prior to discovering Cathe, however, she's in an entirely different league than the workouts I was doing (similar to what you've experienced thus far). I would recommend starting with the following, depending on your goals and what type of workouts you're looking for :

For cardio, these would be my suggestions for an intro to her choreography and level of intensity:

Step Heat (all step w/ abs)
Step Max (all step)
The Wedding Video (1/2 step, 1/2 weights)
Cardio Kicks (kickboxing)

For weight training, I would recommend starting with MIS, or the PS Series. Both are designed to be more structured for muscular strength/strength gains. If you're looking for a more enduranced based weight training tape, Power Hour is excellent, and is similar in style to Body Pump.

Happy Workouts! Regardless of what you chose, you really can't go wrong!
