Which video(s) have given you the best results?

Hi, I am fairly new to Cathe videos. I have only been using them for about 5 weeks and I love them. I have Power Hour/Boot Camp/ME/Body Max/ Cardio Kicks/MIS/ and Circuit Max/Imax2/Cardio w/wts. I have ordered the new ones coming out. But I am not that patient and want to buy another one. Which series or videos have you received the best and fastest results? Please let me know what results you got. I don't need to lose weight, just want to get more defined and tone up lower body more.

The Pyramid tapes have done a lot for me...I can see muscle tone and definition. Even my husband has commented on how my arms look. I usually just do the Pyramid up or down and go as heavy as I can. The Pyramid workouts may be a good purchase since a lot of what you have is more endurance work. I know a lot of people love the Pure Strength series and the Slow and Heavy Series, but I do not own either of those. I think the Pyramid workouts would be a good introduction to strength training. I'm sure others with more experience than I will post and give you some good suggesstions! Good luck in your decision and have fun!
:)

I've seen the best results with Slow & Heavy, I think. But if you're interested in lower body, I think that Pyramid Lower Body is Cathe's best lower body workout.

The CTX Series is great, but the cardio is REALLY intense and I think of it more as a weight-loss series than a gain-definition series. But you'll definitely want to pick it up at some point. :p

I also would suggest Cathe's Pyramid. I also use the Up or Down portion of it, as heavy as I can go and I am seeing great results.

I getting results using the PUB & ME, but I think it will be time for me to change. I think Im going to start doing the S&H or PS with PH. I like to do strength & endurance.

CTX series is a must, as I told you in another thread of yours I think!!! And I applaud the sugestion to get the PUB and PLB.

I disagree though that the CYTX series targets weight loss. You can do with this series what you will. You don't have to do them one after the other for a week! You can do 2 cardio sections and make that your workout for the day, or do all the upper body work and make that your target for the day. Neither is it true to say that the CTX upper body work/tape cannot give you strength or definition. It has given me both. I intermingle it with the PUB and betweeen the 2 of them I am lifting more on the CTX upper body work and increasing my upper body definition. You have to play around with these things to make them work for you, and by all means, go heavier than Cathe does on some exercises to increase the strength dimension of the workouit for you, that's what I do.

The PUB and PLB are simply excellent videos to have around because they will help you break through a plateau in your strength training: they are a safe, not too-committing way to try that higher weight for just a few reps and see if you can handle it, then you can try to consolidate your training at that weight load next time and in other workouts, so it also helps to build confidence.

I constantly rotate between PLB and Leaner Legs from the C TX series (another fabulous reason why you must get this series, it has the best lower body training workout ever!) for lower body and rotate between PUB and CTX upper constantly. I see results and I don't get bored.

One last thing, maybe change your mind set a little here too? The best results are not always the fast ones. In cardio endurance and strength training, lasting results come from slow steady overload. Anything else could set you up for over-training and/or injury.

Have fun with your new purchases!

Thanks for all of your replies! I bought CTX DVD this morning, but now I feel I have to get the Pyramids. So I will probably sell some of my Firms that I don't use too often to justify all this buying I am doing! Thanks for all the great info, it really is helpful. I have been working out for years but don't know too much about the difference between strength workouts and endurance workouts - I just put them all into the sculpting category. So reading these posts helps me out.

What exactly do you guys mean by Pyramid up or down? Are you using it in a different way from Cathe? Love thia series!

RE: What do you guys mean Pyramid Up or Pyramid Down

On the DVD the Pyramids have a premix called Pyramid Up or Pyramid Down. If you do Pyramid up you do a set of 8,10, and 12 and skip the last two sets. If you do Pyramid down you do a set of 12, 10, and 8 and skip the last two sets. When I first did Pyramid Up I would increase my weight by say 5 pounds for each set. Now I go as heavy as I can for all three sets - helping me to increase strength in less time. I'm not a Slow & Heavy kind of person so the Pyramids Up or Down are great for building strength without taking up a whole lot of time. When I need to change things up I will do the Pyramid workouts as is. If you have a the Pyramids on VHS it would probably be easier to do a pyramid down since the reps start at 12...you could do 12, 10, and 8 and fast forward through the next two sets until you get to the next exercise. Hope that answered your question!:7

I'd have to say Power Hour has helped me immensely. Especially those low ends. I use to have problems moving my 300lb motorcycle, but I noticed after doing PH for about a month, my legs were strong enough to move the bike even with an uphill incline. It's been a great confidence builder!
