which DVD player to buy?

Hello everyone,

I've decided to take the plunge and start purchasing DVDs and take advantage of chapters, etc. There's such a huge selection out there I don't know where to start! I'd love to get some pointers from those of you that really love their DVD players, and know how to program it. Please tell me what to look for!

I recently purchased a DVD player. I took the list from video fitness with me, however, and discovered that most of the players listed on videofitness.com are outdated models and hard if not impossible to find. So, this is strictly FYI, you will still be on your own figuring out which DVD player to buy based upon the video fitness tips. By the way, I chose a single disc Toshiba and it works well. Sorry I don't know the model number off the top of my head.

Hi Emy,

Like you, I discovered the videofitness.com info list was basically outdated and a couple on their 'good' list turned out to have a lot of bad reviews. However, I am going to take their advice to take a couple of dvd's with me and head out to Circuit City and the like and acutally try them out there.

I recently bought the Sony DVP-NC 600. It's a 5 disc changer model. I love it so far. I've had it for maybe 4 months? No problems yet, to speak of. You can program discs (the ones that allow programming, that is...) Cost $250 at Best Buy.
