...and which ones are complex. I am still waiting for the DVDs and I am kinda anxious as to whether
the steps will be too complex for me to master.
I don't mind high intesity though.

Hey there, Hippychick!!

Now I haven't done all of them, 3 to go. But so far the hardest one for me to master was CK. Now this could be because I don't like kickboxing. In CM the intensity was good (I even liked the kickboxing part in that and in Power circut) and the moves were not that hard to master. Step-n-intervals(SNI) was for me, just slightly more complex, but again, nothing to difficult to master. Now that I'm really thinking about this, so far, the intensity's been great in all that I've done(with the exception of CK) and none too hard to get the hang of. Tomorrow I'm doing All Step and 10-10-10, I'll let you know what I think of them. Well, there's my HO. Great intensity, not to complex. In other words, so far perfect for me

Thanks Aimee! I'll look forward ...

to your reviews of the other tapes such as All Step and 10-10-10. Another Q, u see I've never tried a barbell before. I know that most tapes use one. What weight should I start with. Take note that I presently use 5 lb dumbbells only. Too light for most people here I know! Help! :)

If you don't have one yet,

I would say get a Body Bar instead. I don't have a barbell either( although I'm going shopping for one today), but I do have a body bar. I love it!! The weight is evenly distibuted and it's padded. They start at 9lb, but I think a 12 or 15lb bar would be OK for you to start with. Do you have a Galyans where you live? I know they carry them and so does Collage Video. Anyway, there's my HO, use a body bar instead, because I believe that just the bar part to barbells is 15lbs in itself. I hope this helps. Let me know what you decide

Just did All Step,

and boy did the time fly

! So far the coreography in this one has been the toughest for me. I had to rewind at least 3 times! But it was so much fun!! I really like this tape, it's a blast! Also there's one section of the shoulder work where I had to drop down to a measly 3lbs!! However, even Cathe in the video said that we might have to drop to 3lbs and for me she wasn't kidding!! Have Fun !!!

Thank Goodness I Wasn't The Only One!

I loved, loved All Step - partly because I really like doing the shoulder exercises (I get such great results - its so motivating). I am so glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who had t go lighter than I've had to in a long time.

BTW, thanks for your advice about the chest work in Step N Intervals. When you said to keep my shoulder blades on the step, I knew that was exactly what I was doing wrong! Thanks again.

Happy Exercising.

Janet

How tough is ALL STEP

Do you think someone like me who is choreography-challenged would get all the steps- even after a dozen rewinds? Did you already try 10-10-10 yet?
How is the choreography? I cant wait to get started!

Janet and Hippychick,

Janet, your welcome! I'm glad it wasn't just me too, talk about a bruised ego

! Hippychick, I've done 10-10-10 and I really liked it! The coreography wasn't hard at all in it, and BTW, I think you'll be fine will All Step. It'll just take a few tries for us before we get them dowm pat

! And the tricep work is terrific

I agree with Aimee

I haven't done 10-10-10 yet, but I loved All Step and, as my father used to say, "There's a reason your middle name isn't Grace

!" If I can get, you can. I think All Step will be a classic favorite.

Enjoy.

happy.gif
!! I'm still not sure about Cardio Kicks, but this one I will definately keep!! And my biceps, ow,ow,ow!! They are still shaking! And I was able to meke it through all of the plank poses
happy.gif

happy.gif
!! YAHOOOOO!!!!!!

Aimee I cant wait any longer! I just have to get my DVDs asap!

Have u done all the CTX tapes already? How abt CK and CM? Im looking forward to doing CK coz i love kickboxing! What do u mean by plank poses...pls explain? You know I also plan to buy the older Cathe videos since Im just new to her teaching style. Would you recommend Mega Step Blast, Step Heat, Interval Max and MIC as good starters for someone like me? Are they all moderate choreography/high intensity?

Btw, the SoftStick i was talking about before is a new item that received positive reviews in Fit, Health, Oxygen, Fitness and Womens Sports Magazines so i guess it's a good product. The Stick is $35 for the 12 lb bar. The soft weights are 3lb a pair for $8. The bar can reach 24 lbs. Check out www.shopforfitness.com

Oh yeah, all of them

I did CK and CM too. I personally like CM better because I'm not a kickboxing fan. Although, I love what she does in the 6-pak. As for plank poses,it's like you're in a pushup posistion except you don't go down. You hold that posistion while lifting each leg and holding it. VERY TOUGH!! BTW, thanks for the info on the soft stick, as soon as I'm done picking my kids up from school, I'm going to check out that website!! I think Step Heat and MSB would be perfect and The Wedding Video. I don't have the others so I can't say for sure on those, but I definately love the other 3
