Where to start?

I'm 52 and have been dancing...tap, ballet, and jazz my whole life. I usually dance 3-5 hours a week, plus 3 45min sessions on the eliptical machine or treadmill and free weights or weight machines, and an hour or so of yoga a week for flexibility. I've never been thin, but kept my weight pretty constant thru 2 pregnancies and 30 years. But in the last 2 years, I've gained about 20 pounds, despite adding the gym sessions and cutting back on the calories by 200-300 a day. I'm REALLY frustrated. What used to work, doesn't work anymore. Plus, the high impact of aerobics causes a lot more joint pain than it used to. I'm already eating way under most of the standard guidelines for my age and weight and exercising way more than the recommended "30 min 3-5 times a week"!

Most of your users seem to be at least 10 years younger than me. A 40-something friend of mine suggested your workout, but I'm not sure where to start. Do you have any suggestions for those of us in or approaching menopause, who are not willing to give in, but need more age specific help? I'd like to know which tapes are the best to start with and a good, accurate, specific source of nutrition guidelines.
