Where do I start?

Hi All,

I have 5 month old twins and I'm ready to start getting back in shape.

I only gained about 12lbs when I had the babies and lost 30lbs when I gave birth. But now I up 30lbs since their birth --- I'm bigger than I was when I got preggers .

Not real sure why, because my eating habits haven't really changed. The only change has been NO EXERCISE in about a year. So, I'm ready to start getting back in shape, but I'm not sure where to start, any ideal?

Thanks in advance...;)

Wow, 47 views and no ideals!

Oh well, I guess I'll starting with this months rotation.

Thanks alot.... :(

Hi Fit!
sorry noone has been able to suggest anything. Your thread could have gotten lost among all the others. Plus i know a lot of the ladies here are busy with their newborn arrivals!

Well, what sort of workouts do you like? YOu should do something you like so that you can stick with it. What sort of time frame are you looking for - shorter 20 min workouts, hour workouts etc?

Naturally if you havent worked out in a long time, you need to ease into it. I know Cathe has some beginner workouts. Do you have any of those? WHat workouts do you own?

I would ease into the workouts. Maybe aim for 3 days a week for now and gradually build up? I would try to do some weight lifting as well - start off with lower poundage and increase your weight as you get stronger. You dont want to hurt yourself.

If you give us a better idea of what workouts you are looking for, or what you may own already etc, it might be a little more helpful and help others to give suggestions.

Also diet will play a big role.

Hi Jenmgo!

I have about 15+ cathe videos and have used them off and on for the past four or five years to stay in shape. I've gained weight since my precious little TWINS and have not been this out of shape in a long time. I just wanted advise as to where I might start...

Anyho, my hubby brought me an early christmas gift --- a TREADMILL. For now, I will start by working out on the treadmill.

Thanks for all your tips :)

yeah I'd say ease into it also. Gradually you can increase intensity/time to where you want it. I started working out again in January after being in a rutt for a while. It took a few months to even feel into working out. It was hard cause my body was out of it. but stick with it and you'll see improvements! I think part of it was I lost so much muscle and that hurt my metabolism so I started gaining weight. so don't skimp on lifting but of course cardio is good to loose weight but lift to keep it off and tone up.

Howdy!

I would start with walking.. it is easy and you can take the twins with you! I'd also start doing some light weights on my own w/out a cathe tape for the first two or three times. I'd start w/ the basics.. then after doing that a few times I'd give an easier cathe workout a try (if there is such a thing...lol) I don't have a ton of cathe workouts, but the ones I do have are harder so I haven't braved one yet since I had my dd.

Even if you have to only do half of one and work up. You will get there so just do what feels okay and add more on as you can.
