Hi Nancy! A Legal Nurse Consultant is a registered nurse who works with attorneys on cases that have to do with any type of medical issues. It can be med malpractice, worker's comp, product liability, and things of that nature. They work either at a law firm or as an independent consultant, which is what I plan to do. It's fairly unregulated, although there is a national organization. You really don't need certification to do it, but I'm taking this course because the woman who runs the company that puts out the course pioneered this career off-shoot of nursing herself. The course gives you everything you need to get started. The hard work is, of course, marketing yourself! I'm very excited about it, and hope to start my business by June of this year!! Thanks for asking!! I'll keep all of you posted!!

Keep me posted. My law firm doesn't do a lot of the kind of work that you mention, but we sure do have a lot of litigators who might need your services.
