When do you do Stetch max?

I was thinking about getting Stretch Max and doing it at night(after the kids go to bed)instead of traveling across town to the Yoga studio. My question is do you think the stretches at the end of Cathes workouts pretty much do the same thing? I am courious about what everyone thinks about these routines and how do you include them in your rotations.

Melissa, I have only done SM #1 and #2. SM #1 doesn't use any equipment and IMHO the stretches are pretty different from the ones that Cathe uses at the end of her workouts that I have done. Also, she holds the stretch for way longer than the stretches at the end of the workouts so you really feel it and can stretch deeply. That said, SM #1 didn't knock my socks off.

Though SM #2 is really cool. You use a stability ball for this segment. I didn't even know that you could us a stability ball for stretching :) . I really liked this segment and felt like it had some very good unique stretching in it. I haven't tried SM #3, but I know that one uses a band.

I also wanted to add that I don't do yoga, so I can't really compare it to that. I am sure others have much more useful info!

ETA - Do you have FitTV? I know that once in awhile they play this on that channel.
 
I do yoga 2-3 times a week and am pretty flexible. I did SM (all 3 segments) one time and did not feel as though I got that thorough of a stretch (at least compared to yoga). I have not done it since. I would much rather do 20 min of yoga than a SM segment. I was also disappointed in the chaptering of this DVD because sometimes I just want to stretch one or two specific body parts (e.g., neck and shoulders) and you can't do this in SM without rewinding or fast forwarding.
