When did you slow down?

Right now, I'm 27 weeks, so just cresting the 3rd trimester.

I'm reading a lot of historical posts about other women that have had to slow down long before where I am now.
I've had to modify some moves, yes. And I've lowered my step height to just the board, becuase it doesn't take much to get my heartrate up at this point.
But I'm still working out at the same intensity that I always have - even pre-pregnancy.

So I guess my question is, for all of you ladies that have been hard core fitness folks for years....when did you (or did you have to) slow down?

I'm starting to feel like there's something wrong with me that I can still go as hard as I ever have with very little trouble. My family treats me like I should live in a bubble and am super fragile. And while I'd never do anything to put my pregnancy in danger, and I do pay close attention what feels good/doesn't feel good, I still feel fine.
I'm just starting to think that I'm weird or irresponsible because I haven't felt the need to slow down...

I am 26 weeks. I find that I can do about everything I did before, with some exceptions.

I just quit running. My hips, bladder and round ligaments cannot handle it. At the last week of pregnancies, I'll start running again to shake the baby loose, but that never works.

I find I can work out at the same intensity, but less frequently. Does that make sense? I need a little more rest between work outs.

Workouts like IMAX3 require major modification so they've been shelved.

FOr the most part, I still use an 8" step.

Hope this helps. Sounds like you are in tune with what you can handle.

i think so much is individual comfort and different pregnancies. with my first i stopped running at 20 weeks but did imax 2 and boot camp up till the day before i deliveered. i did not modify, but i certainly could not tuck as high on my jumps:) i am now 28 weeks and am still running 35 to 40 mil a week. i did just stop imax 3 last week but still do drill max, bm2 on 8 inch (though i may need to lower - i am 5'2) and my other workouts. the running will start to taper soon i think.

do what feels comfortable , and hope you have a great rest of your pregnancy. what is your due date?

Thanks ladies!

I was really starting to feel like I'm crazy for not feeling as "breakable" as other people are treating me!

I'm due on 6/29, and am really, really excited to work towards getting my body back. I'll miss the little guy kicking me, but apart from that, I miss my body!

I lowered my step to 6 in around 24 weeks, I stopped running b/c the weather in Minnesota,...but I did KPC the day of delivery with #2, and Imax 3 the day of delivery with #3. I did those with ALL intensity (careful not to raise my HR too high). That was atypical,...my effort to help natures way of delivering as soon as I could! Ha ha. Everyone's different AND everyday is different. Listen to your body. :)
