Wheat Germ

I just bought a vacuum sealed jar of Wheat Germ & I've never bought one before. I used some in my cereal yesterday but unfortunately, I didn't notice that the jar needed to be refrigerated after opening. This morning, I got it back out to use in my yogurt & had already put it in & started eating it before I noticed it. So I immediately put it in the refrigerator but now I'm concerned that it's bad & I've already eaten it. I got online & read that it would taste "rancid" if it was bad & it tasted fine to me... I think. I've never eaten wheat germ before & it was mixed into fat free vanilla yogurt so I'm not sure if I could even tell anyway. So does anyone out there know if it could still be okay or if it goes bad immediately? I don't want to continue to eat it if it's bad. It was out for less than 24 hours & it was stored in a cool, dark location prior to being refrigerated if this helps. TIA for any help/information anyone can offer!:)

Kel,

If it was rancid you would know it, believe me. It has a definite taste and it lingers on. You'll be just fine.

As Shelly says, you'll be just fine.
