Whats your schedule for Xmas day?

Its the height of summer in Australia, so simple is best in our home.

Wake up 7.00am (no exercise this morning)
Start preparing Xmas lunch (always have xmas lunch so we can unwind the rest of the day)
The Turkeys been cooked the day before so we can eat it cold
Set the table with all the Xmas trimmings - reds and greens
Prepare potatoe salad
Garden salad
Roast potatoes, pumpkin, green beans, gravy, granberry jelly
Fresh fruit platter for desert. Peaches, nectarines, strawberries, plums - any season fruit that is usually TOO expensive to buy regulary
Childrens partners arrive 12.00am (no inlaws as they live out of Australia)
Make all the necessary Xmas phone calls
Exchange gifts and open some wine
Eat around 1.30-200pm
Clean up - all hands on deck
Flop on the couch 4.00pm in slumber having eaten TOO much as usual
Children and partners leave to do their own thing around 6.00pm
My DH and I share another wine together - finally alone
Go for a long walk
Enjoy a coffee at a cafe with friends and watch the world go buy
Home and in bed by 11.00pm

Phew!! Im already tired thinking about it.

:)

claridge,
That sounds like a wonderful day! I don't have to cook so that is nice. I usually just bake one or two desserts and buy a couple bottles of wine for our hosts. We go to my parents house for Christmas Eve and my husbands parents on Christmas day.

Thanksgiving is coming up for us Americans-another total gorge fest opportunity.

Have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy your beautiful weather.

I think I get the most excited about this holiday than my husband or 4 yr. old daughter, so I'll probably wake up before them and wait. Maybe get my breakfast out of the way, depending on how long I have.

Open presents.
Clean up the mess.
Maybe work out, it will depend on how the rotation falls and if I have enough time.
Shower and go to the in-laws!
Drink, eat, drink (but not too much - I ALWAYS end up being the designated driver)
Come home and maybe snuggle in front of the fire and watch a movie with family.

What a fun post!!!!!!! Every time I tell someone my schedule for xmas day, they can't believe it b/c it's CRAZY! DH and I both have lots of family and all of our grandparents are still living so it's pretty hectic. Here goes..........
Xmas Eve:
--Cook all day long and have a big dinner at my parents' house at about 5:00.
--Then off to dh's mammy's house to visit during their dinner and then do gifts.
Xmas Day:
--Wake up early (about 5:30)and dh and I always open our gifts and have our "alone xmas time" before the madness
--Take shower then off to dh's parents house at about 8:00 for breakfast and to open gifts with them and the rest of the siblings/inlaws/nieces.
--My Grandma's house at 11:30 for lunch and open gifts with that part of the family.
--DH's Grandma's house at 2:00 to open gifts (after they've eaten lunch)
--4:30 takes us to my Nana's house where they have dinner and open gifts (we usually can't eat any more by this point)
--We end the day, usually at about 8:00, at my parents' house where we collapse, drink a BIG glass of tasty wine, and spend the rest of the night opening gifts with them and my family. (my favorite part of the day!!!!) We're usually sooo exhausted that we end up staying the night there. (and eating more late at night!) No workout that day for me AT ALL!!!

So far I believe this will be close to our day.

- wake up early and watch our son go nuts over santa presents.
- have some breakfast
- Go to a resort with DH's family and play the rest of the day at the water park!

I can't wait to go check out this new resort thing that is in Brooklyn Park. I think that it will be a blast!
