What's Your Least Favorite Household Chores

It's Friday which usually means I get the next two days off, but one of those days are already reserved for household chores I wasn't able to get to during the week. Same routine for the past years. However, I can never seem to get inspired to do certain things. I absolutely hate organizing my tupperware/pots/pans and dishes and don't even mention the pantry, although I know that I need to more often that I do. I can't seem to organize the kids' clothes and donate what they don't use/fit anymore enough. It seems like they outgrow things within weeks! And the last one that I find so uninspiring to do is dusting. What's the point? You dust on Saturday and by Monday, it looks the same as if you didn't dust at all. Why do we bother?

LAUNDRY. Not the washing part. I hate folding and putting it away! I do know what you mean about dusting though. I bother because I love a clean house! Even if it's just for the day!

I have the perfect solution for this and it's one that I use all the time. Don't dust for about a month. I guarantee that if you wait a month and then dust on a Saturday, it will not look the same come Monday:eek: :p

Vaccuming. Don't know why but I just hate it. Of course, having all the pets means removing sofa cushions & vaccuming all the furniture too. Just thinking about it makes me tired.

Everything other than relaxing is my least favorite chore. I detest housework! That's probably why it's dangerous to walk across my floors. :D

Dishes I do not own a dishwasher. Laundry folding and putting away because it is in the basement and 3 rd level are our bedrooms, this is terrible but after they come out of the dryer each person has a laundry basket and when they tell me they are out of undies I will then fold the clothes and put away they are already sorted.

Anything that involves making decisions. I don't mind physical labor, as long as I don't have to use my mind. For example, I hate having to clean off the table, because then I have to find a place for everything that's on the table, and decisions have to be made. When I'm home, I like to let my mind go on vacation. :p :+

Definitely dusting. I haven't dusted since I've been married (almost 19 yrs) and don't intend on starting. If it is really bad, dh will dust or get one of the kids to do it.

I've turned into a purger these past few years. We just seemed to have so much clutter in our house. The kids had outgrown clothes, toys, bikes, etc. Since the kids are older they can go through their own clothes and take out what doesn't fit or doesn't get worn. I have them go through their stuff quarterly and that seems to working great so far.

I agree with you Nancy, that's why I hate cleaning off my computer table, too many things like statements, mail, etc...that I don't want to think about organizing.

My least favorite chore would definitely be washing dishes only because it makes my hands look old.x( That's partially because when I wash dishes I always put a little dab of bleach (don't ask) so I think after all these years the bleach is affecting my skin. I know I need to wear gloves but I don't. Anyway with my kids being homeschooled I'm always washing dishes. I've thought about paper products but I guess I'm just a little old fashion.;-) It's funny how as moms we do alot of repetitive things. Sometimes I swear I picked up the same sock at least 5 times a day. I don't know maybe it's deja vu.

Happy Mothering:)

Definately laundry, the folding and putting away part. I hate that clean laundry sometimes sits on the couch for a week before I get it done.

LAUNDRY!!! OH, how I hate it. It piles up! I catch up...I promise my self that I will never let it pile up again...a stay on top of it for a few weeks, then .....it piles up again and the cycle starts over.
