What's your favorite workout song?

I'm gonna split the cardio and weights ones too:

Weights:

1. Jesus Built My Hotrod - Ministry
2. Rosetta Stoned - Tool
3. Stinkfist - Tool

Cardio:

1. Freefall (The Opus) - Beam & Yanou
2. Silence - Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlin - DJ Tiesto In Search of Sunrise Remix
3. Under the Influence - The Chemical Brothers

My utmost kick-your-butt -into-high-gear while I'm doing a run is:

"ROCK IS DEAD" by Marilyn Manson

Today "STRONGER" by Kanye West (not a fan of his, just this song) really got me going when I wanted to stop.

After a run, while cooling down, I listen to "CLOCKS" by Coldplay, and every time I hear it outside of running, I swear, I can feel those endorphins again!

edited to add link to ROCK IS DEAD**

Hey gettingfitmom!

I like that song "Goodbye to You" and the Matchbox Twenty song too -- a LOT! Glad you reminded me! :)

Hey Chris (Boingo1)!

Today "STRONGER" by Kanye West (not a fan of his, just this song) really got me going when I wanted to stop.

LOVE that Kanye song on a spin bike for a hill climb! I also love Kanye's song "Heartless" -- same rhythm, similar BPM. I like to use them back to back for a super long hill climb! :)

Kathy, I know all of these songs...but I'm having trouble picturing working out to Lido Shuffle!:p

I don't usually work out to other music, since I'm usually doing a Cathe DVD, but for lifting I like Brick House by the Commodores, Jungle Boogie by Kool and the Gang, and Got to Give it up by Marvin Gaye. 70s funk rules!

Jodi, you are WAY too young to know any Boz Scaggs, girl -- how'd you know that???? :D You should try "Lido" though -- it's too slow for running, but it's such a fun song on an elliptical or on a spin bike. My spin instructor uses it sometimes for a seated hill climb and that totally "resurrected" the song for me!

I LOVE "Brick House" -- out of the same era as "Play That Funky Music White Boy" which I also loved back in the day.

I'm not so picky for weight work, but here's my cardio (on the elliptical) must haves:

1) Sonata Arctica - Don't Say A Word (This song never gets old.)
2) Dream Theater - Endless Sacrifice
3) DragonForce - Valley Of The Damned

Honorable mention: Guns n’ Roses – November Rain.

3 favorite get-me-going, pick-up-the-pace song are:

1) Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers version, no offense to Stevie
2) Lord of the Rings, Two Towers score/trailer (AWESOME!)
3) Right Round - Flo Rida (it's got a fantastic beat)

Okay, a couple of mine are a little different so no one make fun of me... these are my favorite running songs... in no particular order:

1) Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers
2) I'm Free - Kenny Loggins (from the Footloose soundtrack)
3) Nights on Broadway - The Bee Gees (this one makes me smile because it always reminds me of the Justin Timberlake/Jimmy Fallon skit from Saturday Night Live)

Hmmm...
Favorite running song:
Pon De Replay by Rihanna

Favorite Cathe workout song:
Dance Floor by Jimi La Lumia

I listen to Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Beyonce and Britney Spears when I work out - music I never listen to for pleasure, but somehow the chick pop works for me.

"Happy Together" by the Turtles is my and my little sister's song (weird, right?), but that one always gets my energy up too. Also love "Brick House".

Christine Aguilera's "Fighter", followed closely by Kanye West's "Stronger".

Fighter is one of my favorites along with How far we've come by Matchbox 20.

I also love thank god I'm a country boy.

I just found this song- I heard it at a restaurant and had to download it when I got home. Aldo Nova-Fantasy-' Life is just a fantasy, can you live this fantasy life.....it has such a good beat to it. I think it is from the 80's.

Sorry one more- beyonce-single ladies

I love higher ground- that is from a dance movie. 'center stage'

Chalk me up for Brick House also. Used to spike volleyballs during warmups to this one ! Yep, gets the old bod movin' for me - whatever I may be doing.
:p

Love "Play that Funky Music Whiteboy" by Wild Cherry too - just haven't used it much for workin' out ! :D

OK - now guess how old I am . . . Ha !
